Visited the site in September, the site itself is set in rolling countryside, very peaceful, the toilet block was well maintained and clean.
The owner very kindly reversed our caravan onto the pitch which was a good size for a caravan, awning and car, the edges between each pitch give you privacy. There is no onsite shop, however in Alderholt itself is a small village co-op store or in Fordingbridge you have the choice of tescos express and a larger co-op supermarket. We had a great holiday the site is well worth a visit and will definitely be returning in the future.

Just returned from a week at Hill Cottage Farm. We camped in the Rally field which had lots of room and there were plenty of electric hook up points.
The shower facilities were very good, as was the laundry room. Despite the appalling weather (it rained nearly every night) the field was not at all muddy so it must have very good drainage.
There was a small play area for the children, and there was a convenient toilet in the rally field too.
I encountered the elderly lady warden on several occasions, she was very polite and helpful- I liked her!
Overall we were very happy with the campsite, it was clean and very well kept.

Visited Hill Cottage Farm for a weekend to try out our caravan for the first time! Would have been tricky to find without the helpful directions from the warden, so phone first. Were greeted by the wardens and shown to our pitch. Each is surrounded by a hedge with gravel hardstanding, room for awning and car in front of you caravan, plus a grass area. This gave a lovely feeling of seclusion and privacy.
Site is well tendered, clean and tidy. Very quiet and quaint.
Toilet and wash areas are also kept very clean. The only criticism would be that although showers are hot, they are not at all powerful.Wash-up area also good and laundry too, although didn't use. Did notice fridge / freezer for ice blocks etc.
We were disappointed that the games room advertised on their website didnt seem to be open, in fact we couldn't find it! and were not shown it when advised of facilities. This was a shame as our teenage boys would have made good use of it. No shop to speak of, but Fordingbridge with a lovely co-op just down the road. Excellent position for visiting the New Forest attractions.
Overall a lovely peaceful site which was ideal for us for our first caravanning adventure. Would revisit for weekends, but please open the games room!

We stayed in the touring field during our stay and found the facilities well presented and clean.
It is a very quite site, with a small play area for the children.
We enjoyed our stay and the children had fun as we travelled with a big group of friends, however the stay was slightly marred by the elderly Lady Warden who we found very rude and extremely unfriendly on many occasion.
Because of this we would think twice about returning in the near future.

We stayed for 2 nights at this quiet and lovely campsite. We were greeted by an elderly couple who seem to be the wardens (your early she said) it was 11am and we should not have been on site until 12:00hrs.
The chap showed us around the facilities which I must say are very clean and tidy with nice little touches in the toilets such as flowers and the washing area is very clean and tidy.
The showers were also clean but the shower heads are very tired and thus did not push out water very well.
The site is grass with shingle standings for the caravan and awning and you park your car in front of your unit. There is a very large field for non fully serviced pitches, its quite tidy.
This is a very quiet site with very little to do on site if anything.
Overall a very quiet, clean and well kept site.
We would return but not as a main holiday.
P.S. If you take bikes you cannot ride around the site its forbidden, so you have to walk your bikes off-site first!

We have just come back from staying 3 nights at this lovely campsite. We were greeted by the couple who run the site and were taken to a quiet field, close to the facilities. Throughout our stay the campsite got busier and busier as a big party of people came to stay in the field (with lots and lots of children!), but this wasn't a problem and the site remained very quiet in the evenings. Overall, a peaceful site.
The facilities were very clean. There was a hut in the field which had toilets and sinks with hot and cold water. Near the entrance to the site were sinks, showers, toilets, hairdriers and laundry facilities (we didnt use these so can't comment!)
The village had some good pubs in (The Augustus John and Churchill Arms were very good!)
Overall a very quiet and well kept site.

Recently stayed at this site, facilities were good & clean.
Not much in the area but if you are looking for a quiet location this is the campsite for you.
Enjoyed our stay & would go back again.
We also found it was ideally located if you are a dog owner.

Area brilliant, good shops, nothing on site as far as a shop with products to sell, shops a long way, but good. Toilets and facilities very good, price high for that on offer. We camped in the field with the van, miles from toilets and showers. Told no hard standing , but counted many not in use for length of our stay

A very pleaseant site and very quiet. Most pitches were taken, but they was nobody home, guess these are seasonal pitches. The toilets and showers were spotless and the whole site very tidy. The pitches are gravel and are serviced pitches. There is a touring field with hook-ups and there is play equipment for the kids. Dogs are welcome but the best walks are off site. Alderholt is the nearest village, but we could not find a pub. Luckily we found two excellent places both serving fantastic menus with reasonably priced food but run by lovely people and we were looked after very well. The first was the Tudor Rose which is an old place on the Salisbury Road just north of the Fordingbridge turn and the other smaller pub was the Augustus John which is on Station road. These people deserve your business. Would like to come back again in the Summer to do some more exploring.

Have just returned from a brilliant week at Hill Cottage Farm. Very quiet site, ideal for those who don't want to hear other peoples children all the time. Great that everything is on gravel, no wet grass and mud being dragged into the caravan. Excellent laundry room, all the clothes washed and dried before we came home, fantastic.
