Stayed here for 7 nights following lockdown and reopening of campsites. This is a lovely site with level pitches that are very well spaced out.
The showers and toilets were regularly cleaned and a one way system was in operation. The cafe opened towards the end of the week for takeaways and the food was excellent.
Check in and check out was via the internet and there was good WiFi available around the whole site.
We had a lovely relaxing week at this excellent campsite and will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely campsite lots of lovely walks. Showers and toilets very clean and nice to see staff throughout the day walking around cleaning everywhere. I even saw the dog poo bin being wiped down 👍.
Will definitely return again but would like to choose my own pitch next time as some not as private as others but nothing that would stop me from returning and would definitely recommend to friends and family.
We booked this site for my grand daughters 3rd birthday we had a serviced pitch and a grass electric pitch.
Very pleased with our stay the kids loved the play area and we loved the dog walk round the field.
Clean facilities unfortunately we didn't get to try to the cafe as it re opened just as we left so can't comment on that.
Busy site and would have preferred to have been pitched somewhere a little quieter.
Nothing that would stop us from returning.

This is a really good site for exploring the New Forest and Hampshire/Dorset coast. We had a very warm welcome even though we arrived much later than expected.
The fully serviced pitches are very spacious and private with high hedges on all sides.
There were very few others staying when we were there so there was no competition for the toilets, showers, etc. , but I would guess this site gets very busy in summer and I am not sure the facilities would cope with a full site.
The only other criticism is that the pitch we were given was very wet.
Again probably OK in summer but a real pain with two dogs in winter.

True to my earlier review in April, we decided on another short stay at the end of the summer holidays.
The site was full to the brim, yet did not feel overcrowded. Although busy, there was never a wait to use a shower or toilet and as before, they were spotlessly clean. The quiet rule was adhered to by all and we had peaceful nights sleep.
We enjoyed pizza night and a breakfast at the cafe. The portions were more than generous and we could have easily shared a meal between two!
We absolutely love Hill Cottage and have already planned a visit for 2020.

This was a stopover for a couple of nights to break the journey home. A well-kept and spacious site. Modern facilities which were spotless. Although I do wonder how these would cope if the site was full.
A really friendly group who run this site couldn’t be more helpful. There’s a footpath through the woods to the pub and shop which we felt obliged to try. ( the pub that is)
Didn’t use the local shops as we visited Salisbury a few miles away.

We have just returned from our first visit to Hill cottage Farm and are very impressed indeed. Although our first visit, I am sure it won't be our last.
We were warmly welcomed to this family run site and shown to our spacious electric pitch - number 43. The pitch around 10 metres wide had a very slight slope, was well tended and very close to the newly refurbished shower and toilet block.
The facilities housed toilets, 3 showers, a family shower room, washing up sinks and a laundry room with freezer for ice blocks. These were tended to regularly throughout the day, as was the site. During our 3 night stay, the staff mowed the grass twice and trimmed the hedgerows. It is clearly well loved and looked after here.
Although half term, the site was not busy on the grass pitches and there was never a queue for a shower, however I imagine there may be in the height of summer. There is an additional main shower block at reception and toilets too should this be a problem, these facilities are closed daily between 1130 and 1230 for cleaning.
The site had a playpark for the children and a very pocket friendly cafe - Pitch 25. The food was great value and offers breakfast to eat in or takeaway and dinner on some evenings. Very tasty and great value for money.
The reception also served as a mini shop selling essentials and some treats too. You could also order a daily paper too. Behind the reception was a games room, although it didn't house an awful lot to entertain my two. Perhaps a few board games would be nice for those rainy days?
The village of Alderholt was a 20 minute walk away through beautiful woodlands. We visited the Co-op here for a couple of essentials and there was also a village pub too.
This is a beautifully kept, tranquil haven. Plenty of wildlife and friendly staff and campers. I am sure we will be back very soon.

Just back from a 2 night stay. Really love this site and am sure this will become our 'go to' site for short breaks as we're less than an hour away.
Site is lovely, staff are friendly and helpful, facilities are clean and modern and I never had to queue. Field toilets are more basic but still fine. Little lad loved the play area and as they were able to accommodate our request to be near the play area, we were able to let him run off and play (Thank you sooo much for that!)
Pitch 25 cafe serves good food, reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly.
Altogether, a really good site at a very reasonable price and can't think of any negatives.
