 We stayed here over the Easter holiday weekend and only got a space via a cancellation at the last minute. We were pitched in the field, it was flat and water, bins and toilets were close by. The main site was full and also the rally field. It did not feel over crowded and the site was clean and tidy. We did not use the showers but they looked good.
The site is ideal for walking and cycling. The countryside is outstanding and quite flat. Riverside walks, open fields and woodland. Fordingbrige is close by but not much there. A Tesco and co op for supplies which is handy. We had a lovely time and shall go back again.

What a surprise on arrival to this wonderful Campsite. We booked in and and were shown the way to our pitch and assisted with parking. If you need help the warden will park your van for you.
The pitches (Hard standing) fully serviced water and waste. Toilets and showers are immaculate, a short distance for chemical waste disposal. The privacy hedges are not quite as you would imagine but when they are in full leaf etc it will be fine but pitch privacy was not an issue.
The site is very quiet despite a Rally in the next field.
Woken a couple of mornings at Pheasant o'clock while doing his rounds but no problem.
Short drive into the New Forest where its beautiful to say the least and of course not many minutes from anywhere Ringwood. Fordingbridge. Christchurch Salisbury.
All in all a wonderful week in a wonderful site.

Having stayed in very many camp sites throughout the UK, this is by far and away the greatest site we have stayed on.
The wardens are extremely helpful and personable, and the site itself is a little paradise; nothing but the sound of birdsong and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
Each hard standing site is surrounded by privacy hedges and you are really not aware that anyone else is camped nearby! There is also a large field for rallies available.
The shower/toilet block is spotlessly clean, and there is a spacious laundry room with several washing machines and dryers, with facilities for ironing.
There is a small shop on site for necessities, newspapers, etc. And a Co-op in the nearby village. The site is nicely situated for easy access to nearby Fordingbridge (very picturesque) and for visiting larger towns such as Bournemouth/Salisbury.
We will certainly be returning to this site. 5-star rating!

Took advantage of the very unusual fine weather to do a weekend camping trip at Hill Cottage. A lovely little campsite - being so late in the season there were only 3 tents, 3 motorhomes and a caravan in the whole field (which had 50 pitches) so it was very peaceful.
Lots of electric hook ups. Made the mistake of pitching near the hedge instead of near the path - despite daytime temps of 29 degrees the grass was always wet, particularly so first thing in the morning, but I chose my own pitch so it was my fault if I had wet feet.
The shower block was very clean, as were the toilets and dishwashing area in the trailer on the camping field, but I think it would have been a bit cramped if the field had been full.
No shop on site, but reception sells milk, newspapers, sweets and ice cream and the warden was really friendly and helpful.
The dog loved it, plenty of good walks nearby. The forest path to the village wasn't particularly well marked and we got off track a few times, but it was walkable by the road as well, which you would need to do after dark. Co-op and nice pub in the village.

Just returned from a weekend stay at this well run, well organised campsite. We were in the rally field, and our tent was sited mainly amongst caravans that were there for the weekend - which suited us completely as it was nice and quiet, with relatively few children near us!
Pitches were quite close to each other, and a bit randomly set out; we were at the back of the field by a hedge, and ended up looking out onto the back of a caravan when it arrived and was pitched up - it didn't bother us in the slightest, but some might nof find it a scenic view!
Parking and manoeuvring the car could be a bit hazardous because of this if there were lots of kids on bikes around (you can't ride bikes in the caravan only part of the campsite where each pitch has it's own hard standing and is surrounded by it's own hedge) which I heard a few grumbles about - but others without children didn't seem to mind this rule!
There is no shop on site, although reception sells sweets and milk etc from 9-6, and you can buy baguettes and order newspapers here.
Excellent toilets and showers which were always clean with plenty of hot water and not much queuing despite it being a bank holiday weekend. Four showers & toilets, with handbasins and hairdryers to use. Closed from 11-12 daily for cleaning. There were cloths and a mop for people to clean up after themselves, so the facilities were generally left as you would want to find them (and proper rolls of toilet paper not that awful one sheet at a time system which generally ends up covering the washroom floors!)
There was a good washing up area (under cover) an information room with a payphone, and a laundry room with washing machines, tumble dryers and even an iron/ironing board! In the rally field there were additional toilets (2) and washing up sinks (2).
Plenty of chemical disposal points as well as drinking water points dotted around, good bins and recycling was available.
There was a small playground area, which we didn't need or use so can't really comment. This site would appeal to older visitors, couples or families that don't want to spend half their night drinking and shouting! Definitely wouldn't be a venue for a lively group camping weekend, I think any noise after 10:30 definitely wouldn't be tolerated by the on site warden - but we enjoyed a good nights sleep without any rowdiness, and a lie in until 8am both days as the site was so peaceful and quiet! Great for us!
Would definitely recommend following the footpath through the woods to the village pub called the Churchill Arms. Terrific food, good beer, lovely staff and friendly locals. When we asked how long it would take to walk back to the campsite via the road (as it was dark by then so the forest walk would have been a bit tricky) the Landlord said, 'too long, I'll give you a lift' and he did. No charge or anything! In this day and age, that really is service!
We would definitely return as it's a nice central area to get to other parts of the New Forest to explore. We had a couple of lovely walks, explored Fordingbridge (where you can buy all you need as the Co-op is pretty large and stocks most things and is open Sunday) and visited a couple of villages for pub meals. Well run, well managed site, and reasonable charges too.

We are a couple camping in a 5 man tent (Kampa Carbis 5)
Checked in to reception and received a warm welcome, and given a brief summary of the local area. We were shown our pitch, which was very spacious, but on a slight slope (the clue is in the name). The campsite is south facing and leads to a pond and woodland walk to the local pub.
The facilities are clean and tidy, and split into two areas, the main block which is modern, having male and female separation each with 4 toilets and 4 showers and the gents having a large urinal. A laundry with 6 washing machines, hand washing facilities, and a freezer for ice packs (20p). An information room with leaflets and a pay phone. Dispoal area for separate waste, normal, glass, plastic, tins, chemical disposal. Reception and small shop for bread baguettes(part baked 20mins), eggs, ice creams, and papers(on request). The other block located in the Rally Field is a shepards hut with male and female toilets and washing up facilities.
We really enjoyed our stay and being on the edge of the New Forest made it great for days out, whether it be from Poole to Lymington on the south coast, or many of villages in the New Forest.
Although we are a couple in our thirty's, teenagers may struggle to keep themselves amused, but there is a large play area for younger children.

A true hidden gem of a campsite, well looked after and friendly and most important clean.
Midday the facilities are cleaned and chose to use them just after and were very happy with them including the disabled shower room that was very spacious indeed.
The office/reception sells basic food needs and nearby pub and village within easy walking distance through lovely woods,
On the camping field is a play area at the bottom of the field and ideal toilets and wash up area.
We will revisit soon

We stayed here for 3 nights and found it to be a really nice campsite. We had a caravan and our pitch was on the grass field which was nicely cut. We were right next to our hook up point and a very short distance to chemical disposal, drinking water and bins which had really good recycling. Even though it was very busy when we stayed the showers and toilets near to reception were nice and clean everytime I visited them. There was also toilets on the field but I did not use these as the toilet block near reception was closer. The play area was a really good area for the children and our son spent a lot of time playing there with other children he had befriended, I was happy to leave him to play until it became dark.
There was a nice area to walk our dog and also a short walk through woods over 3 stiles to the local shop (co-op). A short car drive took you into the little town of Fordingbridge which had a bigger co-op and a tesco express it also had a nice fish and chip shop bakery and chinese takeaway all of which we used. You could also take a short drive to any number of car parks to walk the New forest where you would stumble upon wild horses and cattle grazing. One day we took a 30 min drive to a nice place called Canford cliffs and had a lovely walk along the sea front and also climbed the steps of the cliffs where there was a lovely seating area and views.
All in all it was a very nice site and we would be happy to return.

This was our first family camping trip and we decided to go with friends. Reception was easy to find and campsite was easily sign posted. On arrival it's not very clear what is expected of you and warden was not very welcoming. The pitch was huge, we have 6 man tent with 4 children so we had plenty of space. Only bug bear was we were placed right next to the playground so as you can imagine was not very peaceful. Also kept getting hit by footballs. The ground was good for pitching so that made things nice and easy. When it came to the water pressure for washing up and showers, it could be better and hotter, also felt toilets could have been cleaned more often. We barbecued on our nights there and during the day visited moors valley which wasn't too far. Night times were not very peaceful as tents were too close together so you could hear others chatting, and both nights very loud music was coming from a field near by. This was still going at 3am. Could not find any games room as advertised. My boys would have loved that. Staying here has not put me off of camping ever again but I definitely wouldn't want to come back to this site in a hurry!

Super site especially for families!
We were a group of six families (5 tents and one touring caravan). The site was terrific for the kids to run around the field in and a good playground which even kept the teenagers occupied!
The walk through the woods to the village is lovely but could be very muddy.
We had a problem with our EHU (the lead wasn't quite long enough) but this was very quickly dealt with.
The main toilet block was good and had disabled facilities. It does lack private sinks though and the shower heads are very close to wall which makes it hard to wash hair! It was clean though. There was also a trailer in the field with a couple of loos and sinks which did get very dirty after 24 hours, but it was quite damp underfoot when we were there.
All in all, a lovely site.
