Well one of our favourite retreats. As we only stay about an hour away, this is a fantastic site to escape from the front door for a few days. Extremely warm welcoming wardens who will do anything to assist in your stay. They appreciate the kids enjoying themselves on site, which is relaxing as some sites I have been on, you get that feel from the wardens that the kids should be on a lead like the dogs. Not like some of the other Club sites
The toilet block had to be one of the best in Scotland and also the whole UK I have been to. Pitched are of great space. We always push the boat out and go for a super pitch.
There is Sky available, so bring you sky card. Also wifi too.
Be prepared to travel though as there is a lot of things out and about to keep you occupied.
As for previous comments about winter, well, in the highlands even the house sometimes suffers from freezing. What is to stop your aqua roll hose from freezing up as well?? It is to be expected at -15’!
This is a true jewel and one site that we require a lot more like. All for the reason there is plenty of space for the kids to enjoy themselves. One site I will never stop coming too.

Great site loads of room, wardens are very pleasant and helpful nothing to big a problem for them.
Toilet block on lower level of park is one of the best I have been in, can`t comment on high side of park as these were closed on our visit. The park has a very nice playpark for the kids and there are a number of good walks for taking the dogs.
It is only a 10 minute walk into town where there are plenty of choices for wining and dining. The Royal British Legion in the town square is very friendly, visitors most welcome entertainment on weekends.

We booked this site for Xmas and New Year of 2009. We booked a year in advance based on the great reviews, its fantastic location and that it was an 'open all year' site with super pitches. The super pitches included a sky box, wifi, 16 amp hook up and a water and grey waste hook up. Based on this we expected a relaxed and great Christmas holiday.
When we were travelling to the site, Scotland got hit by some of the coldest and snowiest weather for 30 years. We called to check it was still safe and ok to arrive, yes everything's open we were told. When we arrived a mini snow plough had to be deployed to roughly clear our pitch so we could get our van and awning in. This was going to be interesting we thought - it became a daily challenge!
The wifi was down and had been for a few days so no way to skype our families on Christmas Day as planned or check our e-mails etc.
The water points on each pitch had zero insulation so were all frozen. I appreciate -15 is a little extreme but with no protection the water wasn't going to be available even at normal winter temperatures. This is a site that caters for winter caravan trips yet doesn't appear to make any attempt to provide the water you pay extra for - very disappointed.
To make matters worse the only way to get water was from inside the laundry room. This was from a normal sink tap so the usual connector to your aquaroll was too short to use. We ended up having to cart large water bottles and jugs as we couldn't use the aquaroll. This made getting water a very laborious chore.
The CDP also had an unprotected external tap so for the entire time we were there it had no running water. This meant all you could do was empty your toilet, no way to rinse it unless you manually filled bottles or jugs and carried the water from inside to outside. Most people didn't bother so you can imagine what you had to look at and smell when emptying your toilet.
All in all we were hugely disappointed with this site. I know the weather was very bad, but the site had made no provision to accommodate even normal winter conditions. No external water points were insulated to try and provide some sort of freezing protection. The CDP was not available and became a bit of a health hazard as well as fairly disgusting to use.
I am sure this site is fine in summer, but please don't expect it to be a good place to go in winter. We paid £20 a night and had no water, no waste, no wifi. The site charged to clear snow covered pitches and failed to provide a sanitary CDP facility.

This site has already been well reviewed in the past so I will just make a few personal comments. I have just had a short break there in very, very cold and snowy conditions. All water supplies other than in the amenity block were frozen.
Personally I feel that at £18 per night the charges are high for the low season but the facilities are very good. The underfloor heating in the amenity blocks is wonderful! Two personal 'niggles': I don't like piped music in the amenity blocks and I note that according to the handout when we checked in, these are closed for cleaning between 07.00 and 08.00 in the morning. Precisely when I would probably wish to use them although I didn't notice any cleaning at that time on this trip.
It is worth mentioning that at the time of our visit there was no WiFi due to a failure of the site's service provider.
I also personally do not like the site policy of 'no refunds under any circumstances'. A health problem meant we had to leave earlier than planned and a polite request for a refund to be considered was very firmly rebutted. Had I known in advance that being only an affiliated Caravan Club site it did not follow CC policies in this respect I would have paid one night at a time. I can understand this policy when one might otherwise be turning away bookings in the high season but in February with the site almost deserted? Something I will not forget.
Excellent walking from site and I would particularly recommend the Anagach Community Woodland 10 minutes away. It has a choice of excellent way marked trails.

This is a lovely site, well cared for, well positioned, friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend this site. We didn't use facilities as we had our own on board. It was a good place to stop off on our way up to the coast at Findhorn. The road from Grantown to Nairn was so quiet, I think we only saw two other vehicles along the whole stretch. Had a lovely stop off along the road. Went for a nice long walk to try and find the river but didn't get far enough. Recommended stop over or place to tour the area from.

Have just returned from an enjoyable break having benefited from really decent weather.
The site is very clean, busy and pleasant. Only really a couple of niggles, unfortunately we arrived to the 'grumpier' of the two wardens who seemed put out by another arrival. However the other wardens during our stay more than made up for the initial impressions.
The shower blocks are indeed very well kept and extremely clean, however if you shower after 730 in the morning then be prepared there is little or no water pressure in any of the showers and frequent turning off and on is required to even catch a dribble of water.
The fully serviced pitches were massive and very flat, and are definitely worth the bit extra charged.
Local area wise you will need to tarvel by car to get the best of it, but Nairn, Craggan Golf and Fishery , Landmark Centre and Revack Estate ( fantastic coffee shop) are all a must visit.
Grantown on Spey is very very very quiet, no shops and a poor standard of Co-Op. There are also some would be boy racers who travel up and down the main street every night on motorbikes and the customary citreon saxo! but the noise from that is not an issue
All in all a good holiday and there was plenty to do for a family with 2 young boys and two dogs. ( A wee footnote here to the 'elderly' , experienced caravanners. The playparks for the kids are ther to entertain the kids, not to act as a vent for your complaints about noisy kids. If you want a quiet , dedicated place to moan , then go to an adult only site)

Excellent site, spotlessly clean with huge hard standing pitches with electric / waste/ sat hook up and Wi-Fi on Super Pitches. Get rock pegs for hard standing (You can get super hard pegs from shop @ 50p each). Wardens were very friendly and toilets were spotlessly clean with heating and piped music from R2. Kids chased out the park at 22:00! But dark enough!
Great Toddler wash room, Don't forget to ask for a key which costs £10 which is refundable, every site should have a kids room like this and take an example from this!
Excellent children's play area on site, one of the best we have seen lately, if Huntly castle had one it would be much the same.
Walking area for 2.5 miles up the hill at the back of the site with views over Cairngorms excellent, most impressed!
The shops in Grantown not the best, shop before you come, there is a CO-OP but expensive. Inverness only 30 miles away.
£3.50 for washing and over £2.00 for drying but Iron for free.
I would highly recommend this site to anyone coming to this area. Honestly coming back here very soon, best site we have seen in 2 years!

We came up to grantown-on-spey as part of a tour of Scotland, we ended up using this site as a base to tour around the highlands. This was a great site, it absolutely chucked it down with rain, but our pitch was bone dry (we had an electric hookup and so on a individual pitch. The main camping field got very boggy with ponding in places. This site has the cleanest, warmest loo block we have ever come acoss. With wifi access too its a great fully featured site.

This is without doubt the best caravan site in Scotland, if not Britain.
Met by a charming lady who couldn't have been more helpful, taken to our pitch by a gentleman who assisted us to park and answered all our questions about site and town.
Toilets and showers spotless.
We had our four dogs with us and there are excellent walks right outside site.
Will visit again later in summer.

Arrived on Friday evening at 6.55pm. Was greeted by a lovely lady who was more than happy to assist us even though the reception closes at 7pm.
The meadow was full so we pitched on the hill where there was only 2 other tents. Lovely and quiet and away from the children's play area.
The toilet and shower block was something else, spotless clean, lovely and warm and radio 2 music piped into the block.
Loads of hot water and free hairdryer.
Excellent value for money.
It was just an overnight stay so did not get around the area except in the morning through the high street.
The best campsite by far that we have stayed at and will come back again.
