From the moment we arrived at this site we had a perfect weekend. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Had a super pitch which comes with its own sky box and was in sight of the playpark that our 8 year old daughter described as awsome. The toilets were spotles and warm with piped music. The driveways around the site are not very clearly marked but intuition tells you that there is a one way system in operation. By some little miracle the weekend that we were there it did not rain and the Harley Davidson motorcyle club was having its get together in the town square which provided a few hours of entertainment. Local pubs are good and there is a nice little chip shop in town if you arrive late. This is one I will definitely return to in 2008.

Excellent site. Made welcome when we arrived in the pouring rain - queue an idea of the next 2 weeks. In the field behind the shop etc - quite a steep slope but our Dandy was fine. Toilet blocks were clean and good. No kids so no idea about facilities for these - did see pool table & tennis table up by toilet block. 5 minute walk into town. Pub next to co-op and one across main street (Claymore ) allowed dog in on lead. Would definitely return.

A very friendly greeting at reception by the Owners reassured us we had made a good decision to stay at this site. It is large, very well laid out and the "super pitches" are to die for. Not only did we have 16amp electrics, running cold water and waste disposal but we were given a sky sat box for connection to their sky satellite system. Home from home on the tv front. A very short walk away from the site entrance leads to the old disused railway track. Excellent for dog walking plus the bonus of a climb to a view point allowing an aerial view of Grantown On Spey with the Cairngorms as the back drop. A very pretty town. The site facilities were exemplary and fullfilled our every need. We will be back.

This is the best site we have ever stayed at. The toilet/shower facilities were fantastic - new, clean, warm etc - and having the radio on in them is a great touch! We stayed on one of the new pitches which had just been built and had its own hook up and water, although the water supply was not yet connected. As we were staying there in the off-peak season we weren't surprised that there was work being done on the site or that the new pitches weren't quite finished - it wasn't a problem. I think they also said that these new 'super-pitches' would also have their own Sky hook up too once finished. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we were shown to our pitch and told to let them know straight away if there were any problems. The other really great thing was that the pitch was on gravel (nice grey shingle not nasty cheap driveway-type gravel) which meant that even though it rained almost constantly, we never trod mud into our motorhome. We had a fab view of the Cairngorms and the town was just a few minutes away by bike. There are also cycle trails nearby. We would DEFINITELY recommend this site and hope to go back there in future. I can't stress enough how good it is.

This has got to be the best & cleanest site toilet/shower facilities in Scotland. Radio 2 wafts quietly through them throughout the day. Although those with a sleepy head may need to get up early to use the loo or showers, they are closed for cleaning any time from 10:00 for some strange reason. Other facilites are available elsewhere on the site, but as there is no site map issued, it's a case of look and find, or you may need to ask, as some other failities are also closed. Quite a few other visitors had the same problem as us, where to find everything.
The site is very well organised and situated about 5 mins walk from Grantown centre. Wonderful scenery and a quiet location, a little dark due to limited site lighting, so take a torch. The site is a pleasure to stay at.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle rally was organised in Grantown during August 2006, around 1000 of them enjoyed the sunshine and were a wonderful sight. Hope it happens next year.
Price was £18 a night for a caravan (non CC members). One useful thing for visitors to the site is a provision of WiFi Internet connection. Would be great if only it was a more realistic cost. Currently £5 per 24 hours, so you need to be serious about it. Discounts for Monthly/Yearly use.
Some van pitches have individual water supplies, which may come in handy. One speed bump located at entrance, apparently to reduce static van owners car speeds, but this only seems to upset RV/Van and Motorhome owners as it is quite vicious.

This is a big site with everything on it from tents to statics. It was very noisy at night when we visited and we were put next to the games room too which meant children hanging around the MH all the time. The whole site is on a slope out of which tiers for units have been cut. The higher up the hill you are the more space you have around your unit. The closer to the play park and the bottom of the slope you were the closer the units were.
Grantown on Spey is a two minute bike ride from the site and is a long street of shops. I must admit we didn't get to see a lot of it because it rained the whole time we were there. The rain meant that the whole site turned into a river and we watched the rain pouring down the hills onto the campers below us.
The toilet facilities are good and the games room had pool and table tennis you can hire the equipment for both from the reception you can also get your freezer packs frozen at the reception. Our pitch had a tap to fill up with at the front of it but I'm not sure that everyone had that and we did not have a choice of where to park but again that might be because it was so busy. We found the layout and closeness of the pitches meant that manoeuvring the MH around the site to empty the waste and leave was very tight you had to drive past the play park to leave and that was stressful as there was kids everywhere.

This is a great campsite, it has fantastic facilities - but campers beware the new pitch area is liable to flooding when there is heavy rain (this is north of Scotland remember!).
I would recommend you visit the site but ask the warden their advice on the right place to pitch since we ended up in a loch of 8 inches of water after a flash flood. Not something that will happen everyday!
Its quite pricey for families but the facilitie such as the toilets and wash up areas are excellent.
Will definitely visit again but select my pitch!

Excellent base site for exploring the highlands & Aberdeenshire (and the Speyside distilleries). Well kept, beautifully clean toilet block. Shops and pubs with in 10 mins walk. Bench tables provided on most tent pitches. Friendly helpful staff. Small chilren's play area is also well maintained.

July 2004 This was the best campsite we visited during our two-week tour of Scotland. The new toilet block was excellent - clean, tidy and even a hairdryer in each of the women's cubicles. Our tent pitch had its own picnic table. The staff were helpful and friendly. Gates were locked at 10.30pm but as it was only a short walk into town we didn't need to use the car. Would definitely go back there again.

July 2004 Excellent site! Very clean and well maintained. Shower block spotless and heated! Like home from home. Very helpful wardens. Friendly site and very well laid out.
Our first time camping (usually stay in hotels so quite a change!) Intend going again and would recommend it to anybody.
