Very friendly and helpful family who run this site, supplied extension leads so we could hook-up our tent. Nice enough sanitary facilities gents has 3 showers, 3 urinals but only one 'dump-tank' so timing is important. Hard standing available near entrance to site and grass pitches with an ever increasing slope and dampness the further up you went. Shop in local village stock most essentials and the Ferry Inn up the road stock very expensive Whisky, mind what you ask for! All in all a lovely, if basic site with no shop but Bacon Butties are are available at the house. Would we go again? Yes, definitely.

We thought this site was lovely until the wind and rain hit then we ended up with a stream running through the middle of the tunnel my other half was paddling whilst making the tea. I know it was nothing to do with the site but I feel the drainage could have been a little better. Martain was a lovely guy friendly and the toilet, laundry and shower blocks were really clean

Martin Madigan made us feel very welcome. We could choose our own pitch with electrical hook-up and parked our motorhome level on gravel. The sanatary unit was basic but adequate and clean and well kept twice a day. They have the best showers I've encountered on my Caledonian Tour in 2005! Steaming hot, strong and big enough to facilitate my big body. Very basic & tranquil site, no traffic, no noise. Pub and restaurant (Great Scampi and Chips, fine ales) close to the harbour, which is a short walk (1 mile) to shops and harbour in the town. Basic food, snacks and Telephone booth available at the Madigan house on the campsite. Prices were very ageeable. Less suited for children as there is no other playing facility than the field. No shelter erea for playing indoors when it's bad weather. We stayed for three nights and two sunny days and finally finished our books. Green well kept field for tents. Picnic furniture on this part of the site. Seaview and close to harbour. Ideal for touring the Isles.

Aug 2002 Drive past pub at pier aprox 150m along shore rd. Grass and hard standing pitches, footpath to the beach. Cycle hire on site. The site is in a narrow field which runs up hill so you may be lucky and get one of the flatter pitches, although the further up the hill you are the better the view you get over the bay. The facilities looked new and clean. Very handy for the pub, well within staggering distance.
