This is a nice site situated by Uig harbour and ideal for an overnight stop before catching the ferry.
The toilets and showers were free and more than adequate, it cost £10 per night for 2 adults, under 5s are free.
If you stop here the owner does cups of tea for 50pence and bacon sandwiches etc for about £1.20 a full breakfast was £5, absolute bargain.
The site was well drained and electric hookups were available if required.
We wouldn't hesitate stopping again, our only regret is not buying the Lingustines just landed by the trawlers.
There is a bar nearby which serves food as well as a number of cafes, all seemed reasonably priced.
The only drawback was that there were no lights working in the toilets at night.
Would visit again.

This site offers level hard standing pitches and a friendly welcome.
The facilities although slightly dated were more than adequate and clean, there was plenty of hot water in the wash up and wash rooms. Being February the site was quiet, only motor homes and campervans on site so the facilities were not under great demand!
Uig has a shop for provisions, fuel, bar and a restaurant, there was a tea shop too, but guess it was closed due to the season as was the Isle of Skye brewery shop. But you would kind of expect that to be the case!
From Uig we went by Ferry to Tarbert, Harris.
Would definitely recommend this site and hope to return.

Is it really four years since we last stayed here and I wrote a very positive review? It did feel again like 'coming home!' It was good to see the place hadn't changed, except for a new dog, Molly, who was there to greet us, as well as the older Old English sheepdog! Yes, the facilities are a bit dated, and the Ladies had a fly infestation but I soon sorted that out with my fly spray, but generally the facilities including the indoor washing up area were clean and the showers are still excellent. I thought it was very reasonably priced too at £10 a night for us two and our tent. We ended up staying 3 nights after chickening out of getting the ferry over to The Uists, due to bad weather and forecasted gales. There are still places on Skye we would like to visit, so will certainly be returning to this campsite some time in the future.

Stayed with another Motorhome for six days with a couple of friends staying in B & B on site. Arrived and owners mower had broken so was on a long trip to inverness (nearest city) to buy one. Spoke to another van and they said just pitch which we did. Owner came back and said that he had reserved us the seaside view as it was near to the b&b part our friends were staying in.
Spent evenings watching the gannnets, common terns and black guillimot on bay, fantastic! This site has a sloping field which will stay dry for campers and offers some protection from the sea. For vans it is a level hardstanding which are often close together as it is used like an aire for overnight before getting on ferries to the Western Isles.
Right next to pub and ferry and a pleasant 10 min walk to other pub and hotel. Facilities Free, very clean and breakfast available on site. Private very stony beach for anyone from campsite (does say private but go through gate as fabulous view over bay)
B&b is basic and clean but with your own kitchen facilities. Great tip is to hire their good quality touring bikes and go onto islands, stay in a b&b or bunkhouse and return on ferry. The Ferry trips are a must! See Whales, Dolphins and Puffins.
One of our best hols and must admit great weather but very relaxed and helpful owners who love their life and that they share it with us their tourists

I stayed here a few times is a ideal place for catching the ferry to isle of lewis. The owner is friendly.
There are toilets, showers, drinking water, Basic stuff really. No WIFI. There is mobile phone signal from some the networks.
There are hedges for shelter from the wind which help a little bit.
I would stay here again if visiting lewis. There is a nice little pub near by.

Spent 2 nights, great spot to relax and unwind. Campsite toilets a bit outdated but clean and tidy. Owner was very helpful and friendly and sold hot food from the house. Cost £5 per person & £3 for electric hookup. Uig as very little to do not much in the way of entertainment but if you are looking for peace & quiet great vista's this is a great place to choose. Will return sometime

We stayed two nights on this campsite on our journey to and from the Outer Hebrides. The site is very convenient for ferries, being only a couple of hundred yards from the terminal.
The warden was very helpful and friendly and offers cycle hiring – he kindly tightened my cycle stand for me.
The site toilet block was dated but very clean. We were a bit squashed in, but it was a very functional for us.

Stayed here for one night with the intention of catching the ferry to Harris. Received a friendly welcome from the owner and his dogs.
The area for tents is on higher ground which assures a nice view however the pitches for motorhomes and caravans lower down are a bit on the tight side making it feel more like a carpark.
The toilets were dated but very clean. Reasonably priced, we paid £13 for 2 adults in a camper with EHU.
Uig itself has very little in it so if you intend staying for a while you would be best to bring provisions with you, although I would regard this site more as a stop off point rather than a main holiday destination due to its proximity to the ferry terminal. Would use again.

Basic site, but a perfect stopover to catch the dawn ferry. A bit tricky to find, but Uig isn't exactly a bustling metropolis so once you've driven down the third road you've exhausted all options!
Plenty of hookup points, but you'll struggle for terrestrial TV signal due to the remoteness (look at the number houses with sky dishes).
Didn't make much use of the facilities but they looked nice enough.
£5 per night is nice too, you'll pay that for WiFi alone at most sites.

We didn't actually stay in the campsite! we did however stay in the B&B, although also had a few new year drinks after being invited by a friendly couple to their caravan on the site. Anyway, the B&B was great, friendly owner, great views, good food and ideally located near to local shop, restaurant and pub. We would definitely recommend it as it's a good base for spending time in uig and exploring the surrounding area. Also, the family pets provide a great welcoming committee for dog lovers!
