Lovely little campsite, well kept. The hardstanding area was covered in big gravel like a car park with no markings or divisions, but we were able to take our motorhome on to the grass and had a lovely pitch. The fans in the facilities are quite noisy if you are obliged to pitch near the building. Quite busy in May - don't think we would try this in Summer!

A brilliant campsite. Great facilities. Lovely friendly owners. We even got a full Scottish breakfast cooked for us when no where in uig was open on Saturday 3rd September! It is the third time we have been here so can't recommend it highly enough. Also the pier restaurant and bakur bar is on the doorstep for drinks and food.

This is a great site if your sailing to or from the Outer Hebrides as its only 2 minutes walk from the small ferry terminal in Uig, OK there's not a lot in the village but the site itself is well kept, very friendly owners and decent but dated toilet & shower facilities plus a small laundry, there's a mixture of hardstandings and grass pitches with ehu and plenty of water points around, we actually picked up a TV signal here ! and its well priced at £17 per night. We will definitely use again !

Some of the reviews appear a little on the 'harsh side'
This site is what it is?
A great site for the ferry to the outer islands.
You can't get closer, it's a 2 min drive to the ferry!
The site provides all you need.
Decent sized pitches, some say you are packed in, we didn't experience that.
The facilities are perfectly adequate
There is a nice part of the site, at the top, to exercise your dogs (if you have them)
Good value for money
The owner is a really nice guy.
We will, certainly be back

We stayed one night at this site. The field is on a slight slope. So not ideal. The toilet shower block is not modern. But does the job. The owner was helpful. And the cost was reasonable. The only real downside is the town of Uig. Which is nothing more than a ferry terminal. A small shop/fuel station. And a large Portacabin which is a bar with expensive food/drinks.

Handy for the ferry. Sadly you get squashed in like sardines on what can only be described as a car park. Received a warm welcome when we stayed on our outward journey but a very surly young lady was on reception on our return.
As already said, the only good thing is the proximity for the ferry.

Very friendly owner and very handy for the ferry but that's about it. Very uninviting pitches. The toilets and showers were unacceptable. Rusty fittings, no soap, no hand dryers or paper. Water all over the floor. The whole block needs knocking down and starting again. Could not find any grey water disposal area. The chemical disposal was an old toilet fixed to the outside wall of the toilet block. We only stayed one night but saw numerous people turn up, check out the facilities and then drive off. Such a shame as this could be a really nice site.

We arrived late due to traffic and the scenery and was greeted very warmly. It was explained the toilet block was being refurbished and we had the run of the holiday let for our use, no problem there. It was as we expected quiet, superb surroundings and within easy reach of anywhere we wanted to visit. The owners Lisa and her husband were very helpful to say the least and we felt went out of there way to make us feel welcome. We would not hesitate to visit again next year and I am sure would have the same experience.

It may have been the middle of winter, but we had been looking forward to a hook-up and a nice warm shower. However, despite having phoned earlier in the afternoon to say we would be late because a problem with the ferry, when we arrived the ladies facilities were locked (despite there already being one camper with a lady occupant there) and there was no running water to speak of in the gents, and definitely no hot water to wash or have a shower.
In the morning, when we went to pay, when I asked about the water, the lady said that the water may have been turned off, but she way not sure! We could have had a shower in the house she said, but we were all ready to leave by then.
She still charged us full price.
The site is indeed well placed for the ferry terminal, pub etc, but the large area of hardcore for the campers was very uninviting, and not all the hook-ups seemed to be working (although I did find one at the 3rd attempt).

Arrived at 8pm after a 9 hour drive, had rang in advance and asked for electric hook up, was told by the owner he 'couldn't be going up there to look' but assumed there would be a hook up available.
When we arrived, we were disappointed. The tent field is on a slight slope, with tents opposite each other and a gravel road in between. The owner charged us for electric and said there was probably a hook up available - if we had a long cable. Bit of an understatement as basically, tents can pitch wherever they want, so a tent not requiring electric can pitch on a hook up pitch, which was the case. We found a slot between tents but would have needed a 200m cable to actually use the hook up. We didn't get our money back for the non-use of electric.
The views arent as stunning as described in previous reviews, I was expecting a site on the actual loch and was disappointed, but if you want a one night stop over for the ferry its ideal.
Toilets were basic but clean, no hand drying facilities at all but piped music in the morning was welcome. Dishwashing facilities ok but if 2 of you using the sinks, can be a bit cosy!
We stayed one night and moved on to a far nicer site, and I'd only return if I needed to get an early ferry.
