A really nice site in beautiful surroundings. Outdoor pool that was nice and warm. Plenty of space around pitches. Friendly site owners very helpful. Only thing wrong is the toilet block only has one shower but they did have a mobile facility but hopefully this was temporary. Would definitely go back.

August 2005 A very pleasant woodland site. The owners, (or when I was there, their friends), were friendly and helpful.
Pitches with hook up are in open grass area, but if you want seclusion go for an unserviced pitch in amoungst the Rhodedendrum (sp?) bushes! Ground can get quiet sodden when it rains and because you're in a wood, it takes an age to dry out.
Pool is small, but entirely adequate. Toilets and showers are clean and their are some extra temporary showers rigged up while a permanent extension is being planned. No queues while I was there.
Top site. Will go there again.

July 2005 Just spent a couple of days here in a tent. It is a lovely clean site, well kept with some lovely floral displays. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The kids loved it and it was safe for them to run about. The woodland walks are lovely.
The only thing I didn't like was at night the gravel roads were noisy as people crunched their way to the toilets (we were very near them). The first night as I laid down to sleep I thought an animal was beside the tent heavy breathing until I realised it was actually the sound of the gravel!
The washrooms tend to get crowded with more than a couple of people in there with limited space and only one shower, however, they were spotlessly clean which is more important. I would be happy to return to this site.

July 2005 What can I say? Absolutely idyllic site, having the feel of some wooded sites I have visited in France. Beautiful and warm swimming pool (small, but adequate for this 40 pitched site). I have never stayed at such a pretty site. Extremely pleasant and helpful owners.
All pitches very flat. Yes, you may have to queue for a shower, although the owners are addressing this (and it didn't feel too much of a hassle to us, anyway). On arrival I asked for the ice pack freezing service. Richard and Helen (the owners) then placed my packs in with the ice creams sold in the shop. This act reflects the kindness shown by the couple in general, although I did feel guilty asking to refreeze ice packs thereafter (I have no electric and depend on quite a lot of packs in the hot weather).
A second hand chest freezer available round the back of the toilet block would have been a much better option (both for campers and the owners). I cannot criticise this site in any way and am not to sure why I am providing this review (as it can only make it harder to secure a booking there in the future). I wish Richard and Helen all the luck for the future.

June 2005 A lovely site very peaceful and pretty. Owners very friendly and helpful. Shop stocked all essentials and not over priced. Swimming pool area great for the kids and kept lovely, and a nice temperature. Great location as you have the beauty of the countyside as well as the beach not too far away.
Few snags, firstly within 5 mins of arriving both kids had stepped in dog muck and did several other times throughout our stay - very annoying!! Also only one shower although not too much of a problem for us as site not busy but could imagine would be a pain if busy. Combination locks on loos very annoying as kids could'nt reach them without an adult.
Washing machine very expensive and tumble dryer cost me £6 to dry one load!! It rained like you've never seen rain before and our ground sheet lifted up by about 5 inches with water running like a river underneath it making the contents of our tent rather wet!! So ground not well drained.
However despite these things I would go back as it was a great little place. I think had the weather been better, which is obviously not the owners fault it would have been perfect.

June 2005 Absolutely lovely site. Handy for visiting Devon, Dorset and Somerset. Forest glade full of squirrels and birds. Dogs are welcomed and all the dogs we saw were always on a lead. Yes there is only one shower but for the bank holiday week the owners had hired a mobile shower unit!! Informal campsite and you are able to pitch where you want. I will definitely return.

June 2004 Beautiful little site. Set in quiet woods. Wake up to the sound of wild woodland life. This was my first time camping for many, many years, and it made me fall in love with camping. So much that we have spent the whole year visiting different campsites instead of going abroad. My 4 year old son and wife loved it as well as my sons grandma. Super family owned and run site!

August 2004 A lovely site, great location for exploring Dorset & the west country with a few pitfalls There are combination locks on the door to the shower / toilet block about 5'6" from the ground, means that many children are unable to go to the toilet on their own, can be a pain! Only one shower for 40 pitches, well we had to queue, sometimes 4 - 5 people deep. (was bank hol weekend though). Only 1 wash up sink with dubious hot water, one minute scalding hot then freeezing cold and finally, the owner is not strict enough about dogs being kept on leads, on 3 occasions we had dog mess outside our tent door and we don't even own a dog. Not very nice when you have young children.

August 2004 Not a bad campsite although found the fact that you can't check in till 12 when reception shuts at 11:15 a little odd.
Probably wouldn't go back as had to queue for shower even though campsite was empty (torrential rain in mid August).

May 2004 Very friendly owners, although it was a busy bank holiday weekend they were very charming. It is a pretty site although very wooded if you are concerned about stuff dropping onto your tent / awning from the trees you had better be prepared because it is inevitable. Indifferent weather so we did not use the pool, but it looked lovely. We had a lovely, if shaded, pitch right next to the toilets, only one shower and we were lucky and managed to never have to wait, but some others were not happy with this. The children had a great time there is a trampoline there and this was a big hit. Also the wooded grounds made this a great playground for them.
