We have stayed at this site on four separate occasions in the last two years and will definitely visit again in the future. This site is set in the most scenic location with fantastic views out to sea and the Hebrides islands. Although only basic the toilet and shower facilities are always clean but they could however do with maybe a couple more showers as there are only two in the ladies block in the main camping field. As you can imagine this can be a bit of a pain at busy times. There is a small playpark for the kids but this only has a few swings and not much else. There is however plenty of space for kids to run and play and make their own fun. I would on the whole give this site 10 out of 10. A fab place to go and relax and just forget about everything

A friendly and well maintained site and although big and busy when I visited with my family we were never bothered by noise. There's no bar onsite but a well equipped shop and the although location is about 3miles from Oban with a regular bus running from the site into town. There is a small playpark, plenty spare ground for the kids to explore and an indoor playroom if the weather's not so good all of which my 8yr old daughter loved. This was the third time we've visited the site and although there's plenty hiking, hillwalking to pursue and a diving club nearby, our passion is fishing and the site has it's own jetty which offers great fishing for dogfish, mackerel, whiting and many other species which offers endless fun for beginners and more experienced anglers. This is a site I would strongly recommend to families looking to meet other families, great scenery and endless outdoor pursuits on your doorstep. The only downside was the short opening hours of the shop, lack of showers and one speedbump which scraped everyones exhausts but still 10 out of 10 for me.

Awesome site! The views are amazing. Can be hilly in places so arrive early to get the most level pitch.
Large site and yet didn't have any problems with noise. Nice walk into oban takes about 1 hour if you like hiking.
Toilet blocks weren't amazing but could have been worse.
Good site for access to Oban and area and for getting across to Iona etc
Would definitely visit again.

First visit to this site which is in an excellent location a few mins drive 3 miles from Oban.
Aprox £7 taxi ride back from Oban to site.
Thought the facilities offered good value for money. Whilst on our particular visit we suffered from torrential rain the ground underfoot in the area reserved for tents remained reasonably firm.
As already mentioned in other reviews there tended to be a wait for the showers despite the fact that the field reserved for tents wasn't full. More showers needed.
Minor annoyances throughout our stay ie no hand soap in the wash basin soap machines in toilet block and the hand dryer wasn't wasn't working .Hot water tended to run out when using the allocated washing up sinks.
On balance I would recommend this site as its location is everything.

Lovely campsite, we stayed on the waters edge with a spectacular view of the islands. Oban is only a short taxi ride £6is in to town which is well worth a visit as there are lots of nice pubs and eateries. The onsite shop sells all sorts inc alcohol, the toilet block was cramped and the shower was small.

Lovely site; fantastic views; pick your own pitch; reasonably priced. Showers looked grim but were actually very good - loads of hot water and power!
Weather wasn't the best but really enjoyed a 3 day stay.
Friendly owners; good shop on site. Taxi from site to town very good value.
Went on the 3 island tour - Mull; Staff and Iona. Best value ever! £45 per person which sounds steep but that includes a coach trip across Mull and our driver knew so much about Mull it was unbelievable; a trip to Staffa and Fingal's Cave which is stunning and Iona - the ancient holy island. Weather was awful on the day we went but it was still a fantastic day out.
Oban has lots of pubs; places to eat and shops.
You can fish from the docks - caught mackeral.
If we went back to this area I would definitely be happy to stay on this site again and would recommend it to all.

Fantastic for views and a quiet and peaceful site. Facilities, as in other reviews, a bit limited, but I believe there are plans afoot to upgrade before the 2009 season. We stayed in the lower field with great views of the sea and a jetty where my son could go fishing. Oban is great and we went out for a three hour fishing trip on a boat - available at the North pier. Try the fish and chips in Oban - best I ever had !

Stayed 3 nights. Beautiful views. The site was very hilly and which ever way we camped we were on a slant! toilets etc seemed to be permanently dirty although I saw cleaning staff in there every day.
Awful midge problem as so close to Lochs.
Near no where! The walk to Oban took about 50 mins. Lovely scenery to look at along the way but still a fair walk.
Oban is pretty and really the gateway to other islands.
Staff at site were helpful and would re-charge phones if asked. Shop was also full of basics. It rained heavily on the last two nights and days this was an issue as there was no where else to go near by and no shelter other than our poor wee tent.

Just returned from our second visit to this campsite. If you can put up with the short queue for the showers, which I didn't find a problem, this is a great campsite. It is situated in such a beautiful location. There are only a couple of swings for the kids to play on but there is a games room at the entrance to the site as well.
My own kids aged 13, 9 and 5 however, loved the hill in the middle of the site, for climbing and rolling down again and they made a few friends here.
We arrived late Saturday evening and just managed to get the last of the electric hook-ups.
We left mid Friday afternoon and it is worth noting, that the campsite had really emptied out quite a bit by this time, so if you are planning on a visit, this would be a great time to arrive, as you get to choose the location for your own pitch.
We included a boat trip to the Island of Staffa on our visit this year and I was really delighted to watch a Basking Shark swimming around the entrance to Fingals Cave. Amazing.
The site is very close to Oban and there are such a lot of things to do in the area, I highly recommend you visit.

We turned up during the day and there was a notice to welcome you explaining where you could pitch up if the shop was shut, which it does between 11-4 but then reopens from 4-8pm. The shop was well stocked for a little site, although the selection of alcohol was over priced. £1.70 for a can of beer is excessive when they have 4 supermarkets a short drive away.
The staff were all friendly, nice large freezer for ice blocks, a microwave and hobs are free as are the showers.
The duck pond was nice, the games room basic but open til 11pm and reopen at 8am, the wash facilities were ok, the people who have been complaining could fair better by trying to go before or after the 8am rush!
We enjoyed the scenery which was stunning. There were sheep and goats on the hills, you could climb quite high and get amazing views.
It is a good base for visiting all the islands and sea life, and the prices are reasonable, it cost £70 for 3 people to pitch up for 5 nights
There is a beach near the site where you can park for £1 for 2 hours or £2 for the day. The water is so clear and calm, you can see lots of fish. Dogs are banned.
It is a quiet site so no loud noises later and for kids looking for an arcade in town, there is only one which is below basic.
