Decided to try this campsite after seeing the reviews. We were not disappointed a very well kept site, toilets and showers where in the process of being upgraded, very clean and plenty of hot water. The staff on the site were always around and very helpful. Children's play area was very small only a couple of swings but the duck pond is lovely with the ducks coming around the tent which our 4 year old enjoyed feeding. The sun was shining on the Friday we arrived but by the Saturday night we had gales our tent survived with a little damage a couple of tents were not so lucky, we had chosen the highest point on the site for the beautiful views, the bottom of the park is a bit more sheltered. Shop doesn't open till end of May so make sure you are stocked up. The journey to Oban from the site is a single track road but plenty of passing places. Would definitely return would like to try some of the cruises from Oban harbour.

Stayed at this site twice and both times have been great. The staff are all friendly and the site which is well maintained has a relaxed feel. There's a play park for the kids but they seemed more interested in the hill which is situated at the top of the tent area! The duck pond also went down extremely well! The toilet/shower block could do with an upgrade but overall it was kept clean. Lots of walks and plenty to do along with stunning views, makes it a great location for exploring Oban.

We've been visiting this site for years and it is improving all the time. We are a family of 5 and it is a great place for kids. We like the relaxed atmosphere. There are lots of places for the kids to play. Some of the staff have changed in the last couple of years and 2 grumpy blokes who worked on the site in summer 2005 seem to have gone and have been replaced by a very helpful couple who seem to be permanently running round keeping the place tidy. No litter is a big bonus. Shop is well stocked but only open May - Sept. When we visited (April) we had to book in at the farmhouse. Prices still very reasonable, it was £12.50 per night for our family in a large tent. The grass is kept neat & tidy, nothing worse than long grass on a camping field in wet weather. Toilet & Shower blocks were clean, our only complaint being (from past experience at busy times) that the blocks are small for the size of the site. Will definitely keep returning to Oban, this is one of our favourite sites in Scotland. Beautiful scenery, friendly owners & staff, good prices, nice town close by, shop, games room, laundry, NO BAR on the site! Peace & quiet, what more could we want.

One of the best sites I have visited. Staff are very friendly and the facilities are excellent.
There is a campers kitchen with stove for making meal preparation easier. A games room with pool table and TV for those who want to indulge. A children's playground that will keep them occupied for hours.
All on site in one of the best possible locations.

A lovely unspoilt campsite with plenty of space, great being able to chose your own pitch, very laid back site staff. Oban in a great place and this campsite is a great base for exploring the area. We will definitely be back in the future, especially as we didn't see one midge!

Everything about this place was first class. We had simply one of the best pitches overlooking the pier. The staff were excellent too. I'd highly recommend this site to anyone considering a trip to Oban. Cheap as chips and a mile to the town centre. Please steer clear of the Dive Camping Park up the road. I'm not sure I've ever been spoken to like that off a so called service provider before. Laughable but ultimately we're thankful because we ended up coming here instead.

Visited this site for 2 days initially, but ended up staying a week! We both felt that the site was really geared up for campers and we were not just stuck in a corner next to a caravan site.
The site was very spacious, clean and tidy. Very little restrictions from owners. We pitched our tent wherever we wanted and paid afterwards. The site was great for the kids too. Only a small swing park but all the children seemed to meet up there and play around together. We particularly felt at ease as we could see our 3 year old all over the main camping area.
Our only slight niggle was that the toilets and showers didn't really cope on the busy Saturday night but were adequate on all others.
We will definitely be back here, hopefully even at the end of next week!

Just returned from 4 nights at the Oban caravan and camping park. Its a beautiful scenic view from the camp site and the site itself is very relaxing. You couldn't ask for a nicer place to pitch a tent. The site is very relaxed and the owners are polite and helpful.
The shop sells the basic items needed for camping at a reasonable price. The price for a tent pitch is very reasonable at £11 per night without electric. There is a cooking room and a games room with a TV that you can watch if you like which is good to keep the youngsters happy.
The camp site is 2.5 miles out of Oban along a mostly flat winding road along the coast. We took our bikes so we could travel to Oban easily. There are cycle racks outside the tourist information office and harbour carpark to safely lock your bikes and explore the pubs and restaurants of Oban. You could walk to Oban in about 40 mins or get a Taxi which you can get the number from the shop.
The only downside to this site is that the shower and toilet blocks are not up to scratch. There are 3 blocks on the site which all need updating. They are too small and everything is packed in too tightly. 2 shower cubicles and 4 sinks and a couple of toilets are not enough for a modern day tent field on a camp site of this quality. At least there was a power outlet for you to plug your hair straighteners/shavers in etc. Also a hair dryer for 20p + the showers were free.
Every time I visited the toilet block someone was saying how poor the blocks were and how they let down the site.
Even after experiencing the showers I would return to this camp site because of its quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It was so peaceful we wanted to stay longer but unfortunately couldn't. We will be returning soon.

Loved the site! Brilliant location - with great sea views from nearly all pitches. A great relaxed atmosphere with very friendly staff. Felt very safe - plenty of pitch room even though it was very busy. The toilets / showers were quite basic and at times there was a small que, this was the only downside - great location, we would return.

Just returned from a 2nd visit to this site with my family. Amazing views from the tent field with very relaxed atmosphere on the site. No bossy owner telling you where exactly you must pitch, we got a ticket and were free to choose our own place in the designated area. Site set on different levels, we were just asked to pitch beyond the children's swings on a large camping field. Only complaint would be that the field is sloping. Facilities were clean. Our dog was welcome but we were asked to keep him on the lead on the site. They didn't charge extra for dogs. Price was v reasonable £10.50 for the 4 of us (one is a baby) Friendly staff. Site had improved a lot since our last visit which was 2002 when new owners had just taken over. Now looks much smarter. Will definitely visit again this summer.
