We just stayed at this campsite for 5 nights and it was great. You can choose where to pitch your tent, most other campsites we've visited tell you exactly where you have to pitch your tent. We managed to get a pitch with a fantastic sea view.
It cost us £16 per night for our family of 2 adults and 3 children. Our kids loved it. Outside reception is a duck pond and there were some newly hatched ducklings which the kids adored. There is also a games room with a pool table and some video games which might suit our kids in a few years time!
The showers and toilets, were regularly checked and cleaned, but we did need to walk across the site to a shower block which wasn't on the tent field one morning because the one on our field was closed for cleaning.
The site shop was well stocked, we could get bread rolls and milk each morning and it had all the basics. Tinned food, ice creams, soft drinks etc.
We used the campers kitchen a few times, which was a bit easier than cooking at the tent. The kitchen is basic but very clean. There is just a hob, microwave and a freezer for ice blocks. The dishwashing area was close to the kitchen behind the reception building.
There are picnic tables outside reception, close to the kitchen, so you can cook a meal and then sit outside at the tables to eat.
Oban town is 3 miles from the site. They have a bus service into the town from the site, they also give you a number for the local taxi company when you book in. In the town there are 3 good supermarkets, also all the usual town centre shops and also some great eating places. We had a good meal at 'Piazza' restaurant on the North Pier.
We'll definitely visit this site again, it is a great place for families with young kids. They try to discourage groups of teens who are looking for nightlife and noise, so that made it ideal for us.
My only criticism would be that the site needs another shower block, there are 3 at the moment and I believe they are trying to add a 4th but are having problems with planning permission. We had a chat with the owners one evening and we got the impression that they want to improve the facilities but are struggling with lots of red tape.
Great site, it's beautifully maintained, clean and tidy with neatly mown grass and amazing views, lovely relaxed atmosphere. We'll be back for sure!

Once again fantastic campsite will always return here, great place to use as a base for exploring the area/and the islands. Oban is a nice town with lots to do. Staff very good, they have a married couple working onsite and they were VERY helpful with any questions. Another good plus was next to NO midgies. WILL BE BACK.

We stayed for a week with the whole family: grandparents, parents and children, six tents in all. When we arrived the shop/reception was closed but we found someone who told us where we could camp. We were right at the bottom well away from the toilets, facilities etc but close to the water. When the shop opened, the woman told us we'd camped in the wrong place and shouldn't have been sent there and threatened to uproot us and some other campers that had also arrived and been sent there. We all stood our ground. We had had to pay for the whole camp IN ADVANCE and would probably have left had this not been the case. This was almost £300 for us and had the weather turned nasty that week, forcing us to leave, it would have been a big loss, something to seriously consider for other campers. That said, we weren't bothered about the facilities; a second toilet block had better showers and were more spacious but quite a walk away, but the views were incredible. A very friendly place (the holidayers) but staff not so friendly.

We didn't get off to a great start here, we'd had a long drive and when we eventually got to the campsite (that road from Oban seems to go forever! and everyone drives too fast and it's very narrow) the woman wasn't very friendly. We weren't given any info. The shop was closed, the toilets very dingy.
The views however were stunning and the site is very peaceful.
I personally wouldn't go back. The facilities for the size of the site were shocking. Other than booking in I saw no members of staff. The weather was hot so we headed to the camp-kitchen room to pop our ice-blocks in the freezer, but there was just a gap!

My family and I have been visiting this site every August for 9 years. We initially book in for one week, but that inevitably turns into 2 weeks! The site is very busy during the month of August, however this year was not as busy as usual. I think because of the unusually wet summer. I cannot fault this site. The owner is fully aware of the toilet block situation, as I discovered over a beer with him when reception closed in the evening, and it would seem that they have had plans drawn up for a new block but have been unable to make any progress due to bureaucracy for some three years. Stunning views, relaxed atmosphere, helpful staff. 9 out of 10, and I will be returning in 2008

Didnt think I could find another site on par with glenn nevis campsite, but this one near oban is brilliant, highly recomend it. Stunning views, great base to check out the area / islands, guarantee we will be back all the time. Staff are fantastic, the whole place is great, good for the wee ones and pets are welcome. We are just home but thinking of going back tomorrow. A good 9/10 for us. Maybe even 10/10.

Our family stayed here for almost a week. We were located in the ball park as there were no pitches left in the main field. This field had a beautiful view of the water side and was just a hop, skip and a jump from the reception block and shop. Ideal for us really as we have a twelve year old and a two year old. The plus points for us were the site is only a few minutes drive from Oban centre and it was nice and quiet where we were pitched. The down sides however outweigh the positives. The shop is only open a few hours a day and is badly stocked. The guy behind the counter is also a little grumpy. The two toilets near the shop are tiny and dirty and I did not feel comfortable taking my two year old there. There is however a larger toilet block near the other pitches but they were still were still not that clean. The dish washing facility at the small block near us was filthy. The sink was covered in bird droppings (this will be because it is near the duck pond) and was never cleaned by the staff all the time we were there. If you want a simple site with a fantastic view then it's for you. A tip would be to take your own water as the water provided is brown as it has peat in it.

Absolutely gorgeous site, wonderful views over the loch. Very friendly owners and a well maintained site. The only downfalls were the undersized shower facilities. Only three blocks for the entire site, which caused large queues each morning. Plenty of hot water though and free! The other downfall was the drinking water, although filtered by the site, then filtered again by our caravan, then again into a filter jug, it was still discoloured and formed a head. The water seemed to upset all our stomachs, but no lasting affects! The approach road to the site is very narrow with passing places, which was ok for us, until we were leaving, when we encountered an inexperienced caravanner

Best site we have ever visited! The pictures don't do it justice! A beautiful location with superb views of Kerrera and the surrounding highlands. The campsite has such a relaxed attitude which makes it very easy to visit. The ultimate campsite in and around Oban!

We stayed here for one week whilst diving in and around Oban. The location is just out of the town which makes it ideal for people who require a bit of peace and quiet. The static caravans were very clean and in good condition. Site owners are very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this site both to families and divers.
