Stunningly picturesque site with amazing views over the sound of karrera. Had 1 night in one of the sites camping pods which was really good. Comes with microwave two burner hob toaster sink full size fridge tv and torch to help you get to the near by toilet block which is very clean and well appointed. Nice wee shop with good selection of things you may need. Will be back in August with my caravan.

We stayed just two nights at this lovely campsite before journeying to The Isle of Tiree via the ferry. The campsite is well placed for the ferry terminal.

The facilities were very clean and the site itself in an enviable position overlooking the Sound of Kerrera.

Nice small dog walk on site.

Oban is a lovely town with some independent shops which is a bonus, not the usual chain stores dominating the town.

We can highly recommend this site especially if planning on taking the ferry as it's only a five/ten minuet drive from the site.

We (2 adults and 2 kids) have just spent 2 nights here, firstly, narrow road for approx. 2 miles to get to site (with passing places), On arrival we found that the reception and the shop were still closed for the season and wont open til end May 2014 ( although we still got charged FULL price even though not all services were available to us. We found notice on board directing us to farmhouse to pay fees, we were met by a gentleman, friendly enough, but that was the one and only time we seen any staff during our stay. We stayed at the first site just behind the reception area, hardstanding and level pitch with okay views, the toilet block however really needs to be stripped out and redone, we don't ask for much when touring but a good clean and operational shower block is a must, this was neither. The more hot water you wanted the less water came out the shower head, the taps were the very old style push down type and when you let go the water stopped right away, the cubicles were old and tired looking.

Cant comment on staff friendliness/helpfulness as never seen anyone and facilities not due to open as previously said.

Site map appeared to show large site, although we never went around it, steep hill into site if walking back from town.

Probably wouldn't stay or visit this site again, been here done it and tried it!

Chose this site due to there being no turning away as we weren't sure where to stay, reception very friendly and helpful, we were able to pick our own pitch which was great, we stayed in the top field with electric with a stunning 360 view and £18 a night for a tent, 2 people and electric. Very laid back site but basic standard rules which are pretty common sense. Nice walks from the site and 2 miles out of Oban with a very scenic drive/walk into town. Oban itself is very pleasant with a tesco, petrol station and usual shops and restaurants. Very interesting WWII lookout tower which although fenced off, is worth a look.

Now onto the toilets - I'm very fussy about toilets when camping and will only stay on sites with good clean facilities - these toilets were clean, but very dated, the showers on the other hand really need an overhaul - hot water, but just a dribble, I have very long hair and washing it took an absolute age (not good when there are people waiting), clean-ish but paint peeling on the ceiling and mould - and a duck board to stand on which I wouldn't dare move for fear of what was underneath.

That said, I would return to this site, as the location, the views and the laid back manner of the site were worth putting up with the less than adequate showers.

What a fabulous site. We got to choose our pitch. There are a variety of pitches from grass to hard standing. We chose grass which was fairly flat. Plenty of open space.

The toilet block was clean but a little dated. The shower cubicle in particular was too small. The drinking water was disturbingly yellow although a sign assures you that it is fine.

The location is superb. We cycled to Oban, took a ferry to Mull, Iona and Staffa. We even went scuba diving at the nearby dive centre.

The staff were very friendly and the shop was good too. The booking system could be updated which would speed things up a little. We stayed longer than originally planned which wasn't a problem as the site is deceptively large.

We will be returning to this great site.

We had only planned to spend one night here, but it was such a wonderful spot we stayed for a second. Had a ferry to catch, or would have stayed longer! The site is ideally located for the ferries to the islands.

Great location just outside Oban on a small hill overlooking the sea & the island of Kerrera - wonderful views! 10 minute cycle into Oban - a lovely town with a wide range of shops - Tartan Souvenirs, ice cream, outdoor gear, plus restaurants, some high street names such as Boots & Superdrug. We had a lovely lunch on the quay at the Ee-Usk restaurant - delicious local fish & shellfish & good service - a real treat & the sun shone!

The campsite is larger than you think but this is not a criticism - it means that there are a variety of places to pitch and could be very useful in bad weather. There are grass fields for tents & campervans, static caravans, a level area overlooking the view with hook-ups, a lower grass field, hardstandings, and chalets too!

Good shop selling basics plus fresh rolls, wine selection & frozen items also postcards, newspapers.

Friendly owners let us take a look before we chose our pitch which is much appreciated. Showers & loos were clean & tidy, not modern but they did what we needed them to do.

Dogs welcome & there are great walks from the site to the hills at the back, giving wonderful views. Cattle & sheep on the hills - keep your dog under control.

( Keep an eye out for the beautiful chickens on site - they pop up all over the place - and their multicoloured Tobermory inspired coops). I would say that it was child friendly as there was a playground, and space to run & play. The road is very quiet, so you can walk down to the waters edge to see what you can find.

We would definitely stay here again.

Bottom field just by the gate facing down the Sound of Kerrera glorious sunshine views astounding, toilets clean could do with more showers. Toilets were a bit of an uphill trek, shop stocked basics staff are friendly and helpful. Didn't use the playground but looked nice, campers kitchen gas hob didn't work but microwave did a mean baked tattie, campers room has tv and powerpoints handy for charging mobile phones etc, a pool table and football table campsite could do with makeover but staff were helpful and views made for a really chilling week(we needed the exercise of the toilet trek cos we just lazed and watched the boats go by). Will be back

My wife and me comes every year, and always seem to pitch up on top, where the view is spectacular, friends who have seen photos want to live there. Lol

Its the best campsite i know, the shower block isnt the best, but it works.

Their shop that serves everything, friendly people all around, oban is just awesome, we cant wait till july, coming for a week., get our food at tesco in town, what more can a man want? Lovely campsite. 10/10 a must see!

Beautiful campsite and friendly welcome. Good to choose your own pitch! Intended spending 1 night here before catching ferry on 24th but as ferry was cancelled we ended up staying 2 nights. Loved the site and helpful staff. Only negative was the showers. They need a revamp and the water pressure is non existent. A dribble rather than a shower. Also think if the site was busy there would not be enough showers and toilets. Other than that though it is a great site. Lovely dog walk through bluebell wood and fantastic views. Spent our first night on hardstanding then second night decided on a grass pitch in quiet corner.

Visited this site on September bank holiday weekend. Site was quiet on arrival and we booked in at the farmhouse reception.

The tent pitches are located at the bottom end of the site in a large field. We chose our stop but it is difficult to find a flat-ish pitch as the field does have a slight slope throughout.

You can park your car next to pitches which is helpful, however beware if the ground is particularly soggy as you may get stuck.

The area for tents is spacious but lacks any kind of view. The sound of Kerrera is totally obscured by a bank of trees.

Basic toilet and shower facilities, but well stocked with paper and soap, and most importantly, they were clean. No limit to water usage in showers, pot wash and bins located on outside of toilet blocks.

A lot of people would comment that these blocks need updated - however we found them to be more than adequate for our 3 night stay.

Oban is a short drive along a very narrow, windy road - be careful if you choose to walk it!

Excellent amenities within the town and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.
