I chose this site as it I was taking my young son and it had a games room (in case of bad weather), a shop on site, shower facilities etc. I wont ever go back to this site again. The shop was shut and wont open until the end of May, this should have been mentioned on their website. The games room! 1 ripped pool table with only a broken half cue to play with, an empty drinks machine, arcade games clustered together so you couldn't play them. I was told on arrival, by a somewhat unfriendly man, that there was only one shower block open. I tried using the showers, there were 2 showers in the block but only one was working. The 'working' shower was pitiful and unless I wanted a cold shower, and it was only just above freezing outside, I was not going to get a shower at all. The second shower block opened the next day, I only found this out when I noticed another camper going into the previously locked shower block. There was only 5 tents in the whole site, surely it wouldn't have been much of an effort to inform me. The ground is poor for pitching a tent, the pegs constantly hitting rocks and making the tent a bit unstable. I was also charged high season prices, in April?! The views were nice and the ducks very friendly but nothing else to recommend this camp site.

Just back from a weekend here. Very good site for pitching, good grassy areas, and very close to the shore, nice views in the morning. Also a short walk from the Kerrera ferry, which made for an excellent afternoon out.
Facilities. Not the best, I'm afraid. It was a "Dads and Sons" weekend, and we all agreed that the toilets and showers would not have passed the test had our wives been there, in definite need of refurbishment. Similarly the camp shop. They had stopped selling milk for the season and had reduced opening hours (9-10 and 4-5). It is just me, or is the first week in September still early for reducing your service to such poor levels, there were still quite a few folk on the site.

July 2005 Very disappointing. The site was clearly overcrowded (although there was space between the tents). There are quite simply not enough facilities for the size of land. Toilets and showers were always busy and consequently not very clean. Washing up facilities a similar story.
Shop fine but Oban only a short drive away where there is a big Tesco and Co-op

Lovely site with fab views! We were pitched right up the top of the camping field. looking down over the rest of the site. Got a bit busy friday/Saturday and this meant noise too but not unbearable.
Only used one of the 3 toilet blocks but it only had 2 showers which caused queues. Even then they weren't up to much. 20p for hair driers
Freezer in campers kitchen not freezing Ice packs properly which was a bit of a headache and the staff in the shop could have been a bit more friendly and accomodating. Laundry room charges 20p for hot water so take change or wash them elsewhere.
From Oban it's about 2 milesof mostly single track road with passing places to get to the site but once you are there it was pretty laid back.
Would definitely use again though.

Nice site with relaxed hosts and decent loch views. Basic games room and freezers etc. but overall clean, well kept and tidy, younger kids may get a bit bored.
In Oban itself a large Tesco and Lidl(surprisingly good stuff)are hidden to the right as you go back into Oban driving away from the harbour and away from Fort William signposts. Not itself very well signed so very expensive first few days until we asked someone. Would definitely go again

Spent two nights here and found the site excellent. Very spacious and peaceful with wonderful views - would definitely return.
Thought there was only one shower and toilet on the first level but later discovered additional facilities up on the next level. Facilities not the best I have seen but certainly quite acceptable and perfectly addequate.
About 3 miles from the centre of Oban where there are plenty of shops and places to eat.

Camped here Easter 2005. Pleasant campsite set on different levels, some hardstanding but mostly grass site set out in a none regulated way, you just pitch were you fancy. Loads of room for tenters, toilets and showers clean but a little dated. Overall nice site, good views, would go back.

This site is located at the end of a narrow road from Oban town centre and the views get better and better as you approach the site - the Sound of Kerrera opens south in to the Little Minch and you can see towards the Inner Hebrides on a clear day. The first time we visited was a fine clear w'end and the site was busy and well maintained , with a good stocked shop and friendly Husband and wife team running the show , amenities were good, and we vowed to return , which we did the following year , by which time the husband who was always flitting around the site the first time was unwell, and was nowhere to be seen the second visit , due to his absence the cleanliness of the toilet block for campers had dropped and the place didn't seem as fresh as the previous year. I hope the guy is ok , as we are planning another sojourn to Oban soon.

Nice site. Good shop. We visited in busiest week and the bottom field, usualy reserved for recreation / games was also full of tents. We were told we could camp in the "late comers car park". This did not sound a very good idea till we had a look. Pitched on a little area right on loch side, cooled beer in loch. Amazing views, well worth the little bit of noise from "late comers". Motorhome pitches also look good, on a high curved terrace overlooking lock. Narrow access from Oban so take care.
