June 2004 Great little site. Security is real good and really clean. The site is a short walk from the park and ride into Oxford for a real good look around and great shopping. So really good for motor homes.
Great place for the first time camper because there is a full camping shop on site so everything you may have forgotten even tents.
Close to the A road but even in a tent you will sleep like a log.

april 2003 We have used this site on several occasions ,last one was Easter, we use it often as a stop over if we travel to Hampshire. The wardens are always helpful and friendly. The site is well mentained and security is very good. On the times when we have stopped for a week we cycle into Oxford via the signposted routes through the back roads and parks or the Thames tow path all accesable outside the site entrance, as is the park and ride accros the road from the entrance. Word of warning you have to try and get by Touchwoods camping and out door life superstore, in the entrance to and from the site without spending your holiday dosh , also a dog friendly site.

August 2003 This is an extremely convenient site for anyone visiting Oxford and wanting to see the city. Just inside the ringroad near the A34 junction and the Redbridge Park And Ride, this is an 80+ pitch Caravanning and Camping Club Park which welcomes non-members.
Being CCC, it's not the cheapest. Expect to pay #5.65 per GBP per person plus a supplement if you're not a member of the CC Club.
However, on the plus side, its location 200 yds from the Park and Ride buses (which run back from town till after 11.o0pm on weeknights and Saturdays and only take about 10 minutes) is a boon, since it means money is saved on parking. You can pick up Park and Ride timetables and info from the Portakabin near the bus stop.
Also nearby is a takeaway, a mini-supermarket and a couple of pubs. And directly next to the site is a camping and caravanning superstore. Nifty!
As to the site itself - well, expect a very friendly and attentive staff but also expect that the site will be FULL at weekends. You really should book ahead as a matter of course for this place. Most every weekend is packed, I found out from one of the attendants. Also as a result of this, be aware that you should expect *some* noise from children and dogs especially at weekends. And also expect some noise from the trains and the ringroad, both of which run nearby.
None of this was enough to prevent us sleeping, but it is worth noting if you really need silence to catch the zs.
Shower and toilet facilities are excellent with four washing up sinks, disposal outlets for waste water and chemical toilets, plus a laundry all clustered in the same area.
Fresh water outlets and bins are dotted about the site conveniently.
The land is grassy and level, a little stoney under the surface (bring a mallet!) but otherwise good to sleep on.
At Reception, there is local info, a pay-phone, tourist information, and also a few items for sale - food basics, plus cold drinks and ice-creams. I found the folks on duty helpful and informative.
You can rent freezer blocks from the Reception too, although they won't freeze yours. For #1 GBP returnable deposit per block plus a fee of 35p per block you can keep your food cold.
Other facilities include a seperate dog-walking area (the site welcomes dogs but is blissfully free of dogdirt), rotary washing lines near the laundry, and a security barrier at the entrance (campers are issued the code).
Last check in is 10pm and last check out is 12 noon.

July 2002 The staff are very friendly and helpful. The park and ride is very useful as stated previously and runs about every seven minutes into Oxford centre about ten minutes away. Access is easy from the A34 ringroad. Shop and Pub five minutes down the road. Used by all nationalities so can be busy at times.
