This site is what you'd expect from a Club site - clean showers and toilets, helpful staff, chemical disposal and fresh water.
There was also a small shop and reception with local info and WiFi is available at a cost.
You can walk to a nearby bus stop and catch a bus into Oxford. It's a great city for shopping and the bus tour gives a good flavour of what there is to do and see. There's also plenty of nice places to eat.
The site can be quite busy and there isn't always tons of room around your pitch. Generally, a great site.

We used this site as a stop off on our return from Devon to visit friends in Oxford for 2 nights. The site was easy to find but the entrance throws you as it is the entrance to a large 'Go Outdoors' superstore, behind here is the site entrance. If you are new to camping & caravanning this site is ideal as you can by everything you did not know you needed!
The staff were very friendly & helpful & showed us to our pitch, 2 minutes walk from the site was the bus stop on the Abingdon road that could take you in to explore Oxford & 5 minutes from the site was a small 'Nisa' shop selling the important essentials.
My criticism of the site is with the facilities block as this was very 1960's & the water pressure & heat was non existent for the showers in both the male & female units.
Overall this is probably the cheapest way to explore Oxford costing our family of 4 just over £30 for a Friday & Saturday stay, we may use again if visiting but overall we felt a little let down by the C&CC facilities as these wre not as we expected.

Just had a family gathering at the site, the wardens were very accommodating at placing us all quite close to each other which was appreciated however the noise at night was unbearable, we expected traffic noise as you would in a city but the site backs onto a dairy which comes to life at around 2100, it was heard even with ear plugs in, to top it off there is also a train line nearby to ensure you really don't sleep for long.
I would never go back. What I thought was strange was that tents were sited nearest the dairy and the caravans and motorhomes were sited furthest away, it should be the other way round to give the tent occupants a chance to sleep.
The toilet and shower facilities are nice and clean but they close for 1 and a half hours with no alternative toilets to use, which is unacceptable as young children do not understand this.
If you intend to go with a motorhome or campervan, there are no facilities to get rid of your waste water.

I was booked in for 8 nights. I was positioned near enough facing the reception and barrier.
This was a very busy busy site and after a few days this was not the pitch to be on for a restful time. Motorhomes, caravans and campers were coming in each day all day.
The wardens and assistant wardens were very friendly and chatty.
My first night was a very hot night so windows were left open. I had trouble sleeping with the sounds of the railway, roads and a loud generator sound coming from the milk depot, so I had to close all my windows at night.
The site is a nice small site and very friendly, the amenities were very clean and so was the site.
No dog walking area on site but off site plenty of places.
No childs play area
My first impression on going through Go Outdoors was not a good one, but this did not encroach on the site.
There was a shop down the road for extras
Being a lone traveller and age concession it was very good value for money
Easy access to park and ride bus service or a nice stroll along the river into Oxford.
This site served it's purpose for Oxford and Abingdon.
Advise to anyone going do not pitch near the reception, because of this I left a day earlier.

The last leg of our trip took us to this small C&CC site at Oxford over the Whitsun bank holiday 2011.
Being members of the C&CC we had booked in advance and were shown to a good sized level grass pitch (no hard-standing) not far from the shower block (no pitches are!). The warden was both helpful and friendly and guided us into our parking position with the precision I’ve only ever seen before at Heathrow Airport!
One of the wardens gave us the lowdown on the local pubs which I found really useful. We like the informality of the C&CC sites and this was no exception with a good mix of caravans, motorhomes and tents.
The facilities are a bit dated and there are no privacy cubicles for hand basins - though this may be an age thing – but the showers are a good size with individual temperature controls.
The main selling point for this site is its position. We only use sites where we can walk or catch public transport into towns/cities and this one is perfect. We found a riverside walk into Oxford city centre which takes around 45 minutes or there’s a good bus service (park and ride close by).

We are Aussies currently on a 6 month tour around the Uk. This was a lovely site. The wardens were very friendly and escorted us to our pitch. The office sells a few basic groceries. They have an information room with lots of tourist information.
The toilets were very clean with plenty of hot water. They also give discounts to over 55's. At 13.50 per night it is excellent value.
The park is very close to Oxford. There is a park and ride next to the site (2.20 return). A 5 minute ride. Alternatively you can walk along the Thames towpath into Oxford. It is a very easy 40 minute stroll. Also if you walk in the opposite direction it will take you to Iffley Lock. Very pretty.
The nearest pub is a 15 minute walk (The Duke of Monmouth). They sell good pub grub but also have a Swiss menu. Reasonable prices.
The entrance to the site is through the Go Outdoor store and is easy to miss. Even though we read this in previous reviews we still missed it.
All in all a great site.

This is an excellent site, one I would recommend.
The site is very clean & tidy. The toilets & showers were good. The hosts were very patient & helpful.
The proximity to Oxford is very good - park & ride bus opposite the site or you can walk along the riverside (about 40 mins) right into the centre of Oxford.
Nearby are pubs, shops and takeaways.
We are members of the C&C Club, hubby has age concession so it was very cheap to stay here!
This site is near a busy road and next to a railway so you do get noise from them but it's not too bad late at night and bearable during the day.
They do get very busy - we couldn't get in on our first try as they were full so you would need to phone in advance.

Second time we have stayed at this site. The location is spot on for walking, cycling or getting the bus into Oxford city centre, or taking a ride or walk along the Thames. The site is very tidy and the warden always friendly and helpful. The toilets and showers are a little dated but always clean. You do get a little noise from traffic but you are in a city and not enough to disturb sleep.
There is no play area for kids on site but there is a park next to it.
Would happily recommend this site for exploring Oxford and the surrounding areas.

We spent 4 nights at this site and it is ideally placed for visiting Oxford. We didn't find the noise a problem - it was barely noticable at night.
The site is well maintained and the wardens very friendly. The pitch we had was a very good size and the site didn't feel cramped. The facilities block is clean and the showers were lovely and hot. In the ladies there were only 3 of the 5 showers working though which led to queues at times even with the site only half full. There are also no privacy cubicles in the ladies.
The site leaflet gives helpful directions to the river and we can recommend the riverside walk into the city and going the other way to Abingdon.

Only one gripe freezing toilet blocks but lovely hot water and nice showers.
Site good for motorhomes, Park and Ride straight across the road into Oxford which is a great town to visit Winter or Summer.
Shop just down the road for papers and any food bread etc, Chippy close to shop did not use. Nice pub close by that did good food we did not eat but it was always busy with food which looked very appetising. No children's play area that I could see but one close by I think could be used will use again
