A good site for a break in Oxford. The park and ride is across the road and GoOutdoors is next door which would be handy if you had forgotten anything.
The toilets are a bit dated but they were starting to do a limited update when I was there. But they need more than a minor make over. They are however spotless and credit to the wardens who were all friendly and helpful for keeping up the standards.
A nice level grassed area for the tent which was good.
The downside is the noise. The trains are not too bad but the dairy runs a chiller 24/7 giving a constant background hum and really gets busy with trucks being loaded from 9:00 at night to 3:00 in the norming.
Would I visit again probably not just too noisy for me.
In summary if you're looking for a site in Oxford and can put up with a fair bit of noise or have good earplugs then this site is ok for you. If you like peace and quiet for some relaxation then look elsewhere and drive to the park and ride to access Oxford.

Excellent staff struggling against poor facilities. Electricity problems mean that we were refunded fees (which apparently happens often). Clean but very dated sanitary block. Clearly no updating since opening even though a brilliant position in a lovely city.
Esay walk to Oxford. No children's playround. Strange access through go outdoors car park. Right next to park and ride makes it excellent for visitors to city centre. Good little shop for basics when camping.

We loved our visit here! The staff were lovely, and the site was fine. OK, so the facilities are a little dated, but they were clean, and heated, which were much appreciated in early May.
Camping with young children meant that we made good use of the neighbouring play ground. Not part of the site but easily reached.
To be honest, we spent little time on the site, but used it as a base. The children loved the walk along the Thames into Oxford.
Great for a weekend.

Campsite is ideal for those wishing to visit Oxford. The campsite staff were extremely friendly and helpful and there is a great pub about 10 minutes walk away that sold good food at a reasonable price.
I found the shower / toilet area to be adequate.
Being a touring cyclist, I was charged £6. 50, which I though was good value.
On a negative side, there is a fair bit of noise at night, the site being very close to a rail-line and what can be best described as a 'heavy cooling plant'.
Would I re-visit - yes.

Ideal for visiting Oxford. Take a lovely flat walk along riverside or catch bus at end of the road. Wardens pleasant, helpful and informative.
Shower block dated but was clean and showers were hot. Grass pitches with hook ups were spacious but not always flat.
Lots of rain when we stayed and pitches were getting very boggy. Site shop sells basics, books, and local information leaflets available.
Good pub nearby which sold good food reasonably priced and fish and chip shop both within walking distance.
No problem with noise. Occasional train and traffic noise which did not disturb us.
Would stay again

Perfect site for visiting the city of Oxford.
Nice welcome by the staff, escorted to pitch which was on the one of the link roads (all campers are required to do this during the wet months but no problems)hookup is 10amps, little shop on site which sells the basics. Showers were clean, hot & working well but getting dried is race against time before being frozen - no heating! No motorhome drain point back to the bucket again for us lot. Train noise but not overwhelmingly so.
Nice pub up the road serving cheap meals, chip shop is very good as well, tried them both. Paper shop next door. Park & drive across the road £2. 00 return or walk the river into the city, very pleasant.
Apart from the shower block this is a good site

I know there are a lot of comments about traffic noise, but that’s what you get for a CITY centre site. If you’re in a caravan, then it’s unnoticeable, but if you need peace and quiet in a tent, then choose another site and travel in to Oxford each day. Right outside the site is a bus stop and we never waited longer than 10 minutes for a bus and then it’s less than 10 minutes into Oxford city centre. There is also a great children’s playground within 5 minutes’ walk. The other added bonus is that there is a Go Outdoors right next to the site so if you break anything, then you’re in luck. Don’t rely on your Sat Nav for this site because it’s only sign posted from one side – just look out for Go Outdoors instead opposite the park and ride and the site is behind Go Outdoors. A nice, clean toilet block and very friendly staff. Our first visit to a Camping and Caravan Club site and we’re glad we paid for our membership. We will definitely use this site again if we want to visit Oxford.

We stayed on this site for one night. The wardens were extremely helpful and friendly, and the site is very well situated for easy access to the city of Oxford.
The pitches were not private, but this did not concern us at all. However, the shower block was extremely shabby and my husband was unable to use the showers in the mens shower block.
The gulleys were choked with brown sludge and there appeared to be a problem with the water draining away. Not pleasant.
We would not wish to stay here again and were surprised that this was a Camping and Caravan Club site - definitely not up to an acceptable standard.

If you want a city break in Oxford this is the campsite for you, easy to find right behind a large 'go outdoors' store so if you forget to take anything its on site.
Access to Oxford is so easy as there's a park and ride bus station accross the the road or if the weather is fine there's a lovely river walk into town passing a beautiful pub right on the river (takes about 25mins).
The site is an oasis of calm after coming off the main Oxford road, there is some traffic noise and there's also a train line quite close, neither of these bothered us, might be different if your in a tent.
The site is kept in immaculate order by the very friendly and helpful staff, toilets are a bit dated but kept very clean, my one and only small gripe is being a club site is the price, if your not a member the price is loaded by about £7 a night.
If I had been staying any longer than 2 nights I would have joined but wasn't offered the chance to save money when booking.

As usual for a C&CC site, the welcome was warm, the wardens wonderful and the administration was efficient.
However, there is no mistaking that this Site is not up to the C&CC standard. It is let down by a toilet block that is well overdue for a total refurbishment.
Several toilets would not flush properly, the toilet cubicles were very small, the showers were under-powered and feeble. There were no private wash cubicles.
There was a big mixture of different toilet seats, and taps - even on the same basin. There was no hairdryer (not that I use one on site but it does indicate the underpar facilities).
Oxford is a magnet for tourists and I think this site could put off tourists wanting to stay at other Camping and Caravanning Clubs. I presume there must be a major reason why this site is not up to standard.
It would be useful if some explanation could be put up to reassure and encourage us to bear with the problems and await a new improved 'Friendly' Site.
