Lovely location and the welcome friendly but the far field near the sea is very exposed and the winds flattened quite a few tents (including ours!) future campers please take note. Fires are actually not allowed on the campsite only on the beach nearby.

The site itself was good and well maintained although only one shower block on a site this size is a little poor, so if you are visiting ask for a pitch near the block and sacrifice the sea view. 20p for a 3 minute shower is a bit mean when you spend half your time waiting for the hot water to feed through and watching you time tick down.

Facilities were clean and well kept but bring your own loo roll as none is provided. Would return again if the site facilities were upgraded to include an additional shower block near the beach fields.

This site is GREAT we did not see our son for most of the week as he was kept occupied by the shallow stream that runs into the sea from the site. We camped on the bottom field which is very sheltered and an easy walk to the showers and toilets which I found to be very clean! And the small toiles on the bottom field were also very clean and were seen to be cleaned twice a day by the owners.

The pitch we were on was quite small but we do have a large tent, this left the problem of where to park the car if the site was full(which it was`nt at the time). Our 3rd night in was a little rough as a group of youngsters arrived late at night and proceeded to make a racket all night, but after only one complaint the sites owner Clare was straight down warning the group that they would be removed it the noise continued(good Response) the noise stopped straight away.

Beautiful sunsets accompanied by a bottle of beer on the bench by the beach watching seals in the sea. SUPERB WE DID NOT WANT TO COME HOME SO BOOKED AN EXTRA COUPLE OF NIGHTS!

Set in a great location between mountains and the sea some pitches are right next to the beach. Toilet facilities are good and the owners are very friendly and helpful. There is a good little shop on site that does a small selection of take away food, lots of dingy type people were camping as they could launch from the site. We will go again soon we were in a tent but next time we will use our motorhome, a little care will be needed on the narrow access road.

We arrived thurs 11th, this was my first camping trip, I have to admit I was not looking forward to it, in fact everyone I told I was about to go camping laughed very long and loud!

I really enjoyed the experience and I will be returning to Aberafon next year, we were on the top field, I thought it was very windy at night but it is such a lovely place it didn't matter that our gazebo broke during the night we just bought another one and started again. The goats were very nice - my 7 yr old son fed them bread everyday. I was enjoying it so much I booked an extra night. We loved it at night time the sky looked fantastic, it just made me appreciate the natural things around us, we will be returning next year.

Our first time on this site, what a lovely site... Nice friendly site owners, making you feel really welcome. Make sure you take plenty of toilet roll and 20p for the showers.... Toilet block could have been cleaner, and there are no sanitary facilities, needs upgrading. Children's play area also in need of upgrading. Site in nice position, beach is pebbles and rocks but there are nice beaches nearby in Pwhelli. Small shop for necessities onsite, but there are plenty of shops in Caernarfon or Pwhelli. There is electric hook up if needed. Steep sloping single track road upon arrival to reach the campsite

An excellent site, setting is gorgeous. Site has its own private launch but can be tricky getting boat in and out at certain states of the tide. We visited for the first time this year - camped with the Dickinson clan - and enjoyed every minute despite the weather.
Would recommend tackling the hills behind the site, but go prepared for the long walk. Shop is very basic with inconvenient opening hours, would recommend shopping elsewhere. Toilets and shower blocks very clean - but get well stocked up on 20p pieces if like your showers! Very relaxing site in beautiful setting, booked already for next year.

Unlike other reviewers, I did not fall in love with this site. We have just spent 6 nights here on the beach field. The views are stunning both inland and out to sea and the beach location is hard to beat and very peaceful (but be prepared for the 4x4 jet-ski brigade in hot weather).

However, we found the facilities were inadequate and substandard on the whole. One main block of 6 basic toilets and 6 showers in total for a site with 100 pitches. There are supplementary toilets on two other fields (one old, one new) with 2 toilets each and no hot water. The beach toilets were impossible to keep clean and very basic (think Scout Camp). Showers are 20p for 3 minutes and there is no toilet paper in any toilets. At £16.50 per night for a family of 5 these things should be included.

Pitch sizes vary a lot and tend to be on the small size by today's standards of tent size. Tents are very close together.
Site shop is small, not well stocked and the much needed toilet rolls were 50p each! It was only open 2 hours a day, though the owners were often around at other times.

This is a beautiful site which could be so much better with some attention to above problems. I think British campers deserve better especially for the price.

What a beautiful site and location. We pitched out tent in the top field. This gave us stunning sea views and sunsets right outside our tent for the grownups and a play area in the corner of the field and goats in the next field to keep the children happy.

It is a pebble beach which the children loved. It has the stream running from the campsite to the sea so the children had a wonderful time paddling without them even having to go right down to the shore. Apparently there is a sandy beach a few minutes walk away round the next headland.

The toilets were really clean. If you are camped in the top field (like us) it is a bit of a walk to the shower block. This didn't bother us but others may want to request a pitch nearer.

The shop is very basic, but there is a Londis a few minutes drive away and supermarkets in Caernarvon.

The site is central for lots of other attractions but to be honest we didn't leave the site as it was so picturesque and so relaxing.

Can't wait to go back!

Stayed here May bank holiday for 3 days, think it's the nicest camp site we've ever been to (Beware. Everything previously said about the road is true, it's a tiny little lane off the main road that is quite steep)

Plenty of pitch space and reasonably cheap fees. Lots of midges so sprays and creams are a must, also very windy but views of the mountains and of the sunset over the sea are gorgeous.

Will definitely be going back to this place and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. (if you don't like the wind don't go in the top field)
