May 2004 We arrived on the friday of the Back Holiday to a lovely campsite, set in the mountains near the beach. As we set the tent up it was very windy, so I suggest that you ask to be in the lower field. Our pitch was on a slight hill and I wasn't happy that we were on a cliff with a 40ft drop, not good with young children. I couldn't relax knowing that that was there right at the back of our tent. The first night was freezing, due to the wind, so take plenty of woolies. The wash facilities arn't great, the showers where dirty at times. Nice beach but not much sand. The shop was small to say the least and only open for two hours a day, so go to the supermarket before you go. Takeaway food, expensive and misleading as the owner appeared to reheat it in her microwave. Could do with a new playarea. Overall nice site but would`nt go out my way to go back there.

April 2004 Entrance to the site is absolutely beautiful, a winding path that goes down through trees and a stream running by with ducks and geese. Very friendly greeting by the owners, the site is very clean with everything you need although the shop is very small. We pitched right next to the stream which is incredibly relaxing and seems to lull you to sleep. Kids loved the ducks and the play area and the fact that the sea is so close to the site. We had no problem taking the dog which was allowed on the beach for a run. Already booked to return for Whitsun holiday. Highly recommended!

May 2004 Friendy polite owners, really scenic views, basic toilets/showers, although new a toilet block has been built in the top middle field near park area. shop hours could be increased, cheap price, although weather can get a bit windy (don't let this put you off though as there are secluded parts, only negative point is the access road to the site, very steep & winding. Ask the site to tow caravans. Overall very good quiet site , highly recommended. 8/10

April 2004 New for 2004, the "Top Field" toilets have been completely refurbished as part of an ongoing programme of improvements. We hope this will enhance your enjoyment whilst visiting Aberafon.

august 9th-15th 03 In a beautiful location and run by a very friendly family. I agree about the toilets, they need updating and the entrance to the campsite was pretty but very steep and winding...felt sorry for motor home and caravan owners. As it was our first camping holiday I had my doubts but we had a brilliant time and would definately return[picnic tables were also available free on a first come first served basis which was very useful

August 2003 A beautiful site well worth visiting for the setting.
One word of caution when walking to the beach, beware of the concrete slipway as I ended up on my backside and noted several others who nearly met the same fate.
Hubby wants me to mention that the access road was bumpy and narrow, you wouldn't like to meet a caravan coming the other way! The site was becoming busy on our last day and it can feel a little cramped. Nevertheless despite the above comments we are planning another visit here.

9th -10th August 03 Wonderful site. Steep hill to navigate with a van. Use the service provided of allowing the sight to drive your van/trailer down well worth the money. The wash facilities are basic and let the overall quality down. Great family site for familys and those who like messing around in boats.

July 2003 Fantastic location, cosy fields, but some locations will probably be exposed.
Showers and WCs are scruffy and need attention. They let the place down. One evening we were there they were being cleaned for 20 min each at 9.00pm, with people waiting. Not ideal.
Nevertheless, we would go back.

july 2003 arrived friday dinnertime drove down through camp thinking this is absolutely beautiful. stopped at shop to pay for two nights then drove to the pitches we'd been given 26,27,28,29. on the cliff edge not a problem all fenced in completely safe must say huge pitches.quite a breeze battled with tents everyone further up the field and in the lower secluded fields seemed to be having no probs but with us it was a case of right kids as soon as we open the tent out to put the poles in dive on and dont get up untill we tell you and then grab a corner and hang on or the next stop is the sea. tents up all organised lets find a toilet ,20 metres away in the next field no problem except thats all it was a toilet im not fussy with regards cobwebs and dust but i do think that there should be a handbasin to wash your hands. by 5am the next morning after no sleep whatsoever and snapped poles due to wind we packed up and moved to another site. this is probably a lovely site if you are camped in the lower field set back near the main toilet and showers but we probably wont try again unless the toilets are given a few minor adjustments like a handwash basin
