I have left feed back for this site before.
This time we suffered a bad storm so I would recommend not using the top field if the weather is windy, This site is so lovely, although the entrance to it is so tight it does need widening,
The showers are a bit far away, but toilet blocks are always left clean, This is a basic campsite no big thrills here and very out of the way you need a car to get about. It has a small shop for basic stuff, you can get gas refills, and has a laundry room nothing amazing but enough for a few days break. The staff are friendly and will try to help best they can.

An enjoyable visit, I stayed here as the cost of the hotel for the same period of time would have been over £100. For £15 a night, I thought it was good value.
The site, on first impressions seemed quite nice and tranquil. You're quite far from the road but next to the sea which is good. The road to the site itself is a bit tight and has a sharp bend in it but that didn't bother me.
The site itself is good with nice facilities. The showers were nice and hot and the toilet blocks were in good condition and well maintained. The small shop on site was nice and handy too.
The location is excellent, being only 10/15 mins to Caernarfon/Pwllheli and there are several villages nearby with lots of facilities. I would come back as I loved the site and the surroundings.

Just back from 10 day stay here. Very quirky layout, nice seaviews and well maintained site.
Entrance is tarmaced single track road with 2 tight bends. Thought at least there be mirrors on the corners or a green and red light button system. Seriously if you have a motorhome, caravan or big trailer, send someone to the bottom with mobile phone to say all is clear.
Main shower block is good, but site needs more showers and extra dishwashing facilities nearer bulk of tents.
A romantic walk on the pebble beach is hard going, I was too busy trying not to twist my ankle.
Although we were caught up in a severe gale warning, it still is a gusty site, even in the sheltered caravan field.
We scored the site as satisfactory, but wont return.

Stayed at Aberafon for 2 nights over the bank holiday. The site is beautifully situated, the facilities are good, the owners couldn't have been more friendly.
The shower/toilet block is situated at the entrance, a little walk away from the sea view pitches. There are 3 showers (20p coin for 3 minutes, which meant a cue of about 2 to 3 people during busy times. However, there are toilets and washing up facilities in each of the fields. The pool/TV room and the complimentary ice pack freezer were much appreciated.
The situation of the site (we stayed at one of the sea facing fields) is picture perfect, even when fully booked the campsite doesn't feel crowded. There were many people with children (of all ages) and also dogs, but all were very well behaved
When the owner came around to warn us of strong winds we took the awning down, which saved it, as the winds were really gusty. So, when you are going and the owner warns. Do listen.
We packed up a day early due to the weather but the short time at Aberafon has definitely been one of the best we ever spent on a campsite. You can't beat Aberafon for a seaside campsite that ticks all the boxes.

We spent the first two weeks of August on this site with our children aged 11, 9 and 8. We were with two other families with children of similar ages. This is our 5th year of camping.
It is situated in a beautiful part of Wales, with mountains to one side and the sea to the other. My children had 'the best holiday ever' and will forever remember having campfires on the beach at sunset, paddling in the stream and generally roaming free.
The weather offered a mixed bag, starting with gale force winds which flattened tents on the more exposed parts of the site, plenty of rain in the middle which left some pitches waterlogged - the soil is very sandy so it seems to drain quickly - and finishing with glorious sunshine!
We had a section of the campsite to ourselves with a stream running next to our pitch and very close to the toilet block. The pitches are not the most generous I've seen and we had to park our car in the visitors' carpark to save asking the other family in our party to move their car each time we wanted to go out.
Access to the campsite is undeniably tight, we were lucky and only had to reverse once for oncoming traffic. We were also stuck at the campsite for an hour whilst a jack-knifed caravan was moved - no big deal for us, but I would imagine a little traumatic for the driver.
The showers cost 20p for 3 mins which helped keep queues down, the water was hot and facilities were cleaned regularly. We never made use of the shop but did need to get more 20p coins. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer on site, but we made use of the laundrette in Caernarfon which charged £10 for a service wash of two loads.
The location of this campsite is great, Caernarfon and Pwllheli are a short drive away for food and shops. Whilst we were there, we visited assorted castles, Cader Idris (stunning scenery), climbed Aber Falls (breathtaking, but not as wheelchair accessible as the Snowdonia brochure makes out - the path is steep and stony in places!) and watched motor racing at Anglesey circuit.
Also recommended is crabbing in Porthmadog harbour - plenty of crabs and it is opposite the Ffestiniog railway so you can seen trains coming in and out all afternoon.
I would definitely recommend this as a no-frills campsite for families with older children (if my children had been younger, I would have struggled to remain calm with the amount of water available to play in.
The playground was ideal for youngsters though). If the pitches had been bigger and there had been lighting at the washing up area, it would be my forever site!

We had a nice stay at Aberafon, we booked a sheltered pitch with electric hook up. The site itself is lovely, very picturesque, and the lady running the site was lovely and helpful.
You can use a large freezer for iceblocks and there are laundry facilities which is good.
From our pitch we had a very short walk to the sea which provided some great opportunities for watching the sun set and we had a lovely last night with a fire on the beach (be warned though, there is no sand, very stony so no chance of lounging by the sea!).
We do have a few areas for improvement however. The toilet and shower block are good (and they play radio 2 which is a really nice touch!) but don't get cleaned often enough we felt - the toilets were often dirty and the showers could really have done with a clean down most of the time we used them. This could just be down to people not really treating the facilities with respect though, but the site was very busy and perhaps a bit more attention to the facilities would have been beneficial.
The area our pitch was in had really small pitches (described as the sheltered pitch area), we felt tightly crammed in, as did the people either side of us which took a lot away from it feeling like a quiet relaxing break. In comparison the other areas seemed to have an awful lot more space which was disappointing in honesty. We felt a little cheated.
Overall, a lovely site and we would recommend a stay, but don't think we'd return.

Spent a lovely week in this location, pebble beach, chickens and cat adored by the children along with the stream running past the toilet block! Lots of wet clothes! We really needed to use the washing machine and tumble dryer and these were large and efficient, the shop sold washing powder.
Ice packs easy to access in the laundry room. Site varied from quiet to noisy, the front pitches caught the bad weather and many people lost their tents, we were glad to be sited on lower ground.
Room for improvement would be the showers - they often flooded out past the curtains and space was tight. Daily cleaning of the shower block was done, though all the water from the floor was emptied down the sink used for washing up. An outside tap and use of the drain might have been appreciated as I was washing up at the time!
Additionally the pitch spaces were very tight, we have a 7 by 5m tent and this filled the space between the posts and left very little space for the car. There was no space in the centre of the field for children playing etc, though other fields did have more space our field always seemed crammed.

We've just returned from Aberafon after having a great time!
The site is separated into several paddocks and quite level.
Some areas seem to be mainly caravan, and other parts tents or combination with numbered plots of generous dimensions.
The main shower toilet block is very nice with the radio playing while you shower (20p-3mins) a nice touch. This is a few minute walk from the paddock we were in, but there are 2 toilets and a pot wash in this area luckily!
The access track is steep and windy but I'm not aware of anybody having problems.
The beach is very pebbly with a slipway straight from the site and boat/trailer storage provided. Ideal if you've got watercraft but watch out for the rocks as it can be tricky!
I've now been told we need to get a canoe for next time.
The views of the hills and sea are stunning but if you're under canvas I would ask for a sheltered pitch. We were ok, but some smaller tents were flattened in terrible storms one night!
The ground does get very wet but seems to drain almost as quick!
There is a pool table and tv to keep the kids happy and a huge freezer to sort out your ice packs.
Most evenings are spent on the beach in front of a campfire watching the sunsets!
The site owners are very helpful and really friendly and run a small shop for essentials from their front room, but you will have to travel to get the rest of your supplies.
We enjoyed our stay and would certainly come back again!

Another great stay at this amazing site. We stayed on the top field by the sea as a group of 3 families and everyone of us had an amazing time.
As we had stayed on this site before we had told the others in our group how good it was and where slightly worried abut what they would think. On our first day there they all loved it.
This site is the place to see the most amazing sunsets, I sat out every night and now we are home we really miss it. The owners are really lovely people and will go out of their way to help you.
The site has a small shop which sells essentials, if you need to get your shopping in phwelli is a 15 minute drive and there is an asda.
The showers are spotless and well looked after, as are the toilet block where we were camping. We took our boat as this site has its own slipway which is free to use.
Be warned as it is a bit rocky and a bit narrow for someone like me who is rubbish at reversing with a trailer. Overall this site as it all and I am already looking forward to our next visit

Friendly staff, great location. Enjoyed a wonderful 2 days here. The beach is rocky but great to be next to the sea. We launched our boat at the harbour a few miles south. Clean site, superb views.
The allocation of specific pitches was helpful as we were able to book ahead. The toilet facilities were clean and accessible. Clearly a popular site judging by how long some of the campers had been there. Great access to Snowdonia and Peninsula.
