A beautiful site that is really well kept.

Very clean facilities. Huge pitches. Fire bowls allowed.

Only one water tap fire the whole site but that was fine once we'd got used to filling up every time we went up to the top of the site.

Phone charging points. Fridge and freezer. Honesty box for shower and food in little shop.

A very friendly atmosphere. Loved it!

This site is beautiful, of that there is no doubt. The pitches are large, and we were able to choose how we sited our van which was a welcome change!

However there are reasons we won’t be returning. Facilities are limited, only one water tap for the entire campsite, and the chemical waste outlet was the smelliest I have ever had the misfortune to come across, and when lifting the lid you are met with an outlet covered in dried on excrement and flies.

There are no facilities to rinse the chem disposal point afterwards. I’m thankful we weren’t on a pitch close to it.

A lot of the brilliant reviews here are for tents and camper vans. The access is totally unsuitable for touring caravans. Full half a mile of single track road covered in loose scree and only one passing point.

The entire track is uneven and full of potholes, especially the very steep last section - and whether going up or down it’s very hard to retain grip on the loose stuff.

Owners intimated this is a recent issue, however reviews going back to 2012 comment on the potholes and poor access. The farmer seems to regularly have to tow people back up the track because they can’t get out.

The website really needs a warning about the steepness of the access and the poor track quality. Several people with tourers were unhappy with the poor access and unbothered response from owners.

Having toured all over Wales and Scotland without issue, this was really disappointing as it let down a truly beautiful site in a beautiful location.

What a wonderful little site. We chose the site on its size, (we prefer the smaller quieter places), location (a good place to stay to explore the area) and that you are allowed to have a camp fire. Either by hiring a fire pit or bringing your own. Wood or eco blocks can be purchased at the static.

The site was easy to find, (use Google maps rather than a sat Nav) the track from the main road is gravel and well maintained. In fact the whole site is really well maintained.

The facilities are based near the owners house and are mainly in a converted static caravan. Two bathrooms, one of which holds the only shower, it also has a bath in the same room. There's also the kitchen in the static with the only wash up facilities and a small shop which runs on a honesty policy. There's also two huts at the back of the static with toilets. There's no sinks, just hand towels and sanitiser. All the facilities were kept very clean. The only water tap is at the house also.

It really is the closest you will come to posh wild camping. Alot of people were staying in campervans and small tents. The site allows dogs on leads and also has electric hook ups near to the house.

Theres a river that wraps around the site which you do not have access to but it does draw a lot of wildlife. We watched heron's during the day and bats in the evening. It's a very tranquil place. Where we were pitched is also very sheltered. If you're idea of camping is hard pitches, a bar and general entertainment then this site is not for you.

Your not far from Almouth, stunning sandy beach and a sleepy village. There's also Warkworth with cafes, pubs and restaurants and a castle. Amble isn't far either. A small port with a beach and the closest supermarket as far as we could find anyway.

If we end up going back to that part of the world I'd love to stay here again. I've already recommended it to family and friends.

(I'm only giving it 9/10 as I personally think it could do with another shower. ) It's the only draw back back I could think of really.

Really enjoyed our stay here, lovely area and friendly, helpful owners.

Not at all suitable for a large motorhome because of the gate access and the track to the entrance gate, our van is 6 metres, I’d have hated to try with anything bigger.

I loved the little homely features such as a static van which serves as reception, shop with honesty box, a lovely sitting room with electric fire, kitchen with full cooker and toilets and showers.

We walked to Warkworth castle along an easy to navigate pathway for which a direction leaflet was available.

Very enjoyable stay, we’ll go again.

Loved the site, beautiful location, gorgeous views out of our van, grass pitch with EHU,

Always follow their instructions not to follow sat nav as the ford across the River Coquet can be unsafe, actually we paddled over it with our dog on a walk to Warkworth, truly depends on rainfall upstream.

The washing up and shower or bath facilities are in a static caravan plus 2 toilets at back, bit of planning to avoid queues at peak times, good Covid precautions,

There is also a fridge with milk, sausages bacon etc with honesty box, really helpful. Will return

Beautiful campsite surrounded by a river, despite pandemic restrictions it was all very comfortable.

Walksworth, is definitely named well, well worth the walk to this very attractive town.

Lovely peaceful site near the river.

Covid regulations in place, flat site for the caravans with nice Riverside pitches for camping.

The road coming in is a bit steep and bumpy and the gate is tight but it won't stop us coming back !

Great site had an excellent few days stay. Owners were super helpful and very well organised.

Will definitely be visiting again.

As pointed out by others there is limited shower facilities however that was clear before I arrived and I had absolutely no issues.

LOVED the peace, quiet and tranquility and was highly impressed with how site owners implicated Covid restrictions, don't think they could have done any more, with an assortment of antiseptic sprays and wipes being provided and readily available for guests to use.

The facilities and the site itself were well maintained overall with regular cleaning occurring.

We encountered no problems or lengthy wait times in using the facilities however, had the site been very busy then this may have been a problem.
