Lets deal with other peoples minus points first. One, if it is windy and wet you may also get wet in the washing up area as the roof needs to be larger, apart from that it does what it says on the tin. Two, plane noise, scarcely noticed it, it may vary with the wind direction.
The site is otherwise quiet with fairly large pitches. The hard standing pitches are literally that, concrete with grass either side for awnings, just position the caravan or vehicle to the best side.
We had terrible rain one night for hours and the site proved to be well draining, the grass was wet not sodden and there were few paddles. Staff proved very helpful including allowing us to ring at the house to get access to our freezer blocks.
Toilets and showers were of a good standard and clean, it is a little quaint these days to pull chains for a cistern. The usual push button shower controls gave a sensible time lapse.
The local pub is The Three Tuns, the evening menu was interesting/unusual not 'Pub Grub' it depends what you want. Their home made burger was a miss from us.
The next nearest pub is The Crown a more typical menu fair quality. Neither offers good value.

Just returned from this beautiful site once more. This is a really pleasant site, neat, clean & tidy. Bad behaviour isn't tolerated.
We like the fact that it's 'Dog free' as the children feel safe. Our only criticism is that there should be better washing up facilities-we've been coming to the site for 12 years and these facilities have never been updated.
There's a lovely room with washing machine, ironing facilities etc-it would be great to see part of this room converted into a washing up area.
Toilets & showers are kept super clean & plenty of hot water, good sized pitches and very peaceful. See you next year!

Just spent a weekend here, lovely site, good sized pitches, lovely surroundings overlooking fields with cows and horses. Showers spacious and clean.
The owners very accommodating and cheerful and allowed us to have a late stay at no extra cost. Lots of nice walks and lucky that the weather was good, so enjoyed a relaxing weekend.
Nice short walk to the Three Tuns pub which serves good food and a good selection of beers and wine, enjoyed in their pleasant beer garden.
All in all, a very nice site which we will be going back to again. Thoroughly recommend.

We have visited this site many times over the past 11 years. It is consistently clean & welcoming. Poor behaviour is not tolerated. No pets allowed, so no fear of standing in something nasty.
The family who own the site are friendly & helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We visited twice this year-July & September.
The children don't miss a play park as there's plenty of things to do close by. They like making new friends & playing on the site.
The peace & tranquillity are our main reasons for returning & the cleanliness. We're going back summer 2016.
The only improvement that needs making is a bigger washing up area. Toilets & showers are lovely! Keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We enjoyed a four night stay here and would definitely come back. Due to the time of year it was very quiet so we didn't have to wait for showers.
There are only 3 showers in a very nice clean block. The shower cubicles are the biggest I have come across on a site. Plenty of hooks and a shower seat. The washing up area is outdoors but sheltered. There are additional toilets at each end of the site, so you don't have to walk far.
The site is adjacent to a field with adorable donkeys, Shetland ponies and horses grazing. The site is very peaceful and is 10 minutes walk away from the local shops and 5 minutes from the local pub, where we had fantastic food.
We didn't use any local transport as we wanted to tour the New forest in our vehicle, but there are tour buses a plenty. It is a fantastic location to tour the forest and have all the facilities of a site.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we could choose our own pitch. If arriving when office is closed, there is a list in the office window stating which pitches are free to use, just pitch up and see the staff the next morning.

Love this site, so peaceful and spacious. Really is a joy to return to here. Could do with additional washing up and shower facilities really.
Also a playground or woodland play area really would top off the site perfectly. Not always easy to get hold of staff but they are helpful.
The animals and lake are a good bonus as well. Good location for New Forest and Christchurch.

I can't really add any more to what has already been said. Wonderful site that has lots of wide open spaces that encourages the children to meet friends and play. Richard, the owner, is a real larger than life character. Rest of the team are helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
Initially I was concerned by the apparent lack of showers but it was unfounded in the end. We spent just over two weeks at the site this summer, spread over two visits. Both times the site was full. I had to wait a short while once to get a shower and my wife twice. Time filled by talking to people that were using the other facilities in the block. This is what camping should be about, meeting and talking to total strangers and so adds to the holiday experience. What they lack in quantity of showers they certainly make up for in quality. All showers are family size with constant hot water at very good pressure.
Some great cycling in the area from Burley.
We will definitely be returning again.

We have stayed at Harrow Wood on two occasions now. It is a lovely peaceful campsite. The pitch sizes are very generous.
The toilets and showers are always spotless and clean. There are local shops a 10 minute walk away where there is also a fish and chip shop which is yummy!
The site itself is mainly for caravans with a tent field towards the end of the site. There is no play park for the kids, so we tend to go armed with football, bowls, badminton sets etc and there is plenty of space for the children to play.
Am sure we will be returning to this little gem in the forest soon!

Lovely quiet little site and one of the few that exist that allow people who don't want to be pestered by other peoples pets to enjoy a camping holiday.
Facilities are sparkling clean and it's great that the pitches are marked. Only thing that slightly spoiled an otherwise perfect long weekend was the young couple that turned up late and thought we all would like to listen to their music.
Thoroughly nice people who run it too.

We last camped at this site in 2006. It's still a very good simple site that does what it does very well. We think the best thing about the site are the large areas of green space the owners leave; these are great for children to make friends and play games. It's wonderful not camping on top of each other.
The site was fairly busy but not quite full when we were there. The toilets were clean and the showers lovely and hot whilst we stayed. We didn't have to queue.
We hired bikes in Burley and cycled around the New Forest for a few hours stopping for a drink and some chips at the White Buck.
All in all a great little mini break, at a lovely peaceful site - shame about the weather.
