We have just returned from a lovely weekend break at Harrow Wood. We stayed in a tent with our 23month old and brother/sister in law and mum stayed in mobile home and pup tent. The pitch sizes were plenty big enough to allow us to park up and have picnic tables and chairs between us. The Toilet were clean and the showers had plenty of hot water and were big enough for me and my toddler to shower in comfort without clothes getting wet.
Although there is not a shop on site there is a Co-op only 5 min drive away in the village and a Sainsburys in Christchurch which is only 4 miles from the site.
If you enjoy crabbing/windsurfing or kitesurfing then Mudeford is the place to go. Only about 6 miles from the site. There is also a very nice pub there which serves food all day. Only downside is that children are not allowed inside the pub and prices are a bit on the high side.
Again although there was no play area for children to play it did not matter as there was plenty of open space for them to run around and play football, chase etc.
The only down side that we could find was if you enjoy cycling you are a reasonable distance from main forest tracks with some good hills which young children may find difficult. Ours was in a trailer so not a problem.
A great weekend and I would definitely return to this site.

Had a week at this site and would happily go back for more.
Well laid out site with hardstanding around the outside of the fields and tents in the middle. Excellent showers with lots of hot water and BIG cubicles, all facilities kept very clean. There is no shop on site but they do sell gas.
Local pub 'The Tuns' within a short stagger, that does excellent food but gets very busy, 10 mins walk away is 'The Crown', again good food, big garden and is more family friendly. Next to 'The Crown' are the local Co-op, chippy and bakery. Burley is 10 mins in a car but we were dissapointed with the village, nothing really there of interest and the roads were blocked up by all the cars. We prefered to get out into the forest on our bikes with some fun trails close by.
Overall a really good and quiet site, most people seemed to be in bed by 10 and we felt naughty coming back from the pub ay 11! Would happily go back and would recommend.

Booked last minute over the phone. Staff very friendly and since we were the only campers mad enough to stay that weekend we were able to chose our pitch. Toilets clean and showers hot. 3 showers for ladies so could get busy in summer. Campsite clean flat and gravel tracks so good access.Closest pub (3 Tuns) was packed so went to next closest The Crown. Food good. Shops and 2 pubs within walking distance.Campsite quiet with very little road noise.Would go again.

I chose this site for a last-minute weekend stay (late Sept '08) based on previous visitors' uniformly good reviews- and was not disappointed.
Friendly & helpful when I booked over the phone; late arrival no problem; a big spacious site with hardstanding / electric pitches for 'vans; clean & tidy facilities- with possibly the best showers I've seen on a UK site.
No frills, but does what it does well. Exactly what I look for in a site- & reasonably priced too.
Would (will) certainly stay again.

We have visited Harrow Wood at least nine times and find it to be a superb site with friendly people (Ingrid in the office is a star) and great, clean facilities. Ablution blocks are always clean and never too busy (only three showers each for men and women in one block and loos closer to tent field); tent pitches are large, (mostly) level and in a large field away from the through-traffic and bigger caravans. Bransgore is a fine village but Three Tuns pub (closest) is quite expensive. Others nearby are as good and cheaper while there are many good ones in the New Forest. Good shops in village and we've yet to be disappointed with camping at Harrow Wood - even in rain (although road to field gets tricky to navigate). Definitely a top site, hence the regulars who keep returning - like us.

Came here for 5 days at the end of August with our 3 children (8, 6 & 5) and what a lovely site. Lots of space for them to ride their bikes, play games, climb trees (although watch the tree sap!). It has two small toilet blocks at each end and a slightly larger (but still small) toilet / shower block in the middle. We were initially concerned we would have to queue for showers but that wasn't the case. Perhaps most of the caravans had their own facilities. We have a particularly large tent (Wynnster Apollo 16) and there was plenty of space for that and a gazebo! Will certainly be returning here again.

Great site, placed in a lovely country village, with good shops 10 mins walk away. Good tent field, with lots of space between tents and central area left for the kids to play. Ground was soft for the pegs, mostly flat and there is the odd slope so check first! When it rains though, the track to the field gets very muddy and slippy. Quite a safe area for them to play and everyone was very friendly. Good facilities, which are clean and in good condition. Showers lovely and hot and not much of a queue in the morning. Clean area, with lots of water taps. There is a laundry room with dryer and iron. Area for washing up good and outside but under cover.
Would definitely return.Lovely part of the new forest, beaches nearby and Burley village nearby which is very pretty and you can hire bikes quite cheaply there.A very enjoyable holiday and well worth the money.

We stayed at this site with some friends for 2 nights. On arrival, the lady at reception was friendly and showed us where our pitch was on the map. There were a lot of caravans that I think were permanently pitched there. We were pitched right at the end next to the tent field. The toilet block and showers were centrally located. The toilets were adequate and the showers clean and warm. There were 3 showers in the ladies. We did have to queue once. There was no playground for the children but a lot of space for them to play games and trees to climb. Our kids met many friends and were happy. We didnt visit any pubs or local shops. We went to Burley about 10 mins away, pretty village with shops, tea rooms, pub. A bit busy when we were there but it was school holidays after all. We went to Christchurch about 15 mins drive away which we all liked. Overall we liked this campsite, it was quiet in the evenings and all the pitches were spacious, we would have been happy with any of them. We would definitely return here as only an hour away.

What a lovely site I would love to stay here again, the toilets are the best I have ever seen
The warden was lovely. I had a lovely time and the kids loved the trees and the open space to run around 5 star site. The pub at the end is very pricey and the manager had a massive attitude problem, but the food was nice when it arrived after 2 hours

Very nice site, quiet and very clean. A few regulars were there when we visited so always a good sign, there is a section on the site for caravan storage and a number of those were being moved into pitches ready for people arriving. Most of the pitches are around the edge of the field and well spaced, there is a field backing on to site with some horses and donkeys in it. The site is off the main road at the end of a small cul de sac, the little village of Bransgore is in easy reach and it has a co-op and fish and chips etc. There are two pubs nearby but I would advise the Countryman as the Three Tuns (I think thats the name) was very expensive, £5.50 for a glass of wine! Would definitely go back to this site
