Great site, close to shops, pubs and walks. 2 pubs closeby, The Thatched Roof pub was a tad expensive tho, £8.10 for 2 drinks!
Showers were brilliant, warm, clean, spacious. The owners very friendly and helpful.
Large fields, loads of space round tents. Well kept and clean. Would defo recommend to anyone.

Stayed as part of 4 family group after period of heavy rain. Tents are in a large separate field and VERY widely spaced - the pitches are round the side of the field with the central area free for games. Plenty of room and no through traffic. The view is good too - a grassy field with pheasants and woodland in the distance. About 100m walk to the very good facilities. Showers etc very good. As previous reviewer said, the tent field (only very slight slope) is soft for top few inches, then hard - so a mallet would be useful to get those pegs in. The site is quiet, with no traffic noise and the tent field not affected by any through traffic. There is slight noise from planes to Bournemouth airport and trail bikers at weekends, but by UK standards, it's a good peaceful site. There is a well stocked Spar, butchers, wine shop etc at the village close by. We ate at the Crown twice. It was busy, but a good big garden and they served 14 people very quickly. Much better quality than I expected and very friendly service, good value. Very good campsite and overall good experience - I would definitely stay here again.

This is the second time that we have been back - we had such a good time at our last visit that we brought a group of friends this time. The site is quiet with large pitches that are well spaced out. The local amenities are good and both the pubs are an easy walk. Perhaps we are not that fussy, but we didn't find The Crown that bad - it is an average chain pub, whereas the Three Tuns is a thatched country Gastropub.

Just got back. Lovely simple quiet site - does what it does very well and doesn't pretend to do anything else. Reception office has freezer for cold blocks now. Three Tuns pub good but food pricey - not very child friendly, but this helps ours behave better. Crown (Brewers Fayre?) truly awful - apart from playground for children. We tend not to go back to campsites but almost certainly will to this one.

Huge pitches that never feel crowded even when it gets full. Toilet and shower facilities excellent. Staff helpful and cheerful. The only thing I would like to see is 10 mile an hour signs for the people who are going to fast to the tent field. I will certainly be back.

This is the first time we have visited the site & thought is was wonderful. It is very clean & tidy with hard standing spacious pitches. The toilets & showers are very clean & you only have to walk a few yards to the nearest loo. We can't wait now to go again.

Fantastic camp site, well worth a visit, especially for touring the new forest. The toilet and washing facilities were very clean. The showers were superb, the best we have seen so far. Even Radiators and free hair dryers, so no more freezing waiting in cold shower rooms huddled together! If you visit please be sure to use the end shower with its three nozzles - It will practically blast you out of the cubicle with steaming hot water - bliss!
The tent field is a very short walk from the facilities, and there are plenty of water taps and bins for all those trips of rubbish. The site is extremely quiet and laid back, and very friendly. On our stay we were very fortunate to have a wonderful view across the fields and have the pleasure of visiting the Shetland pony and her lovely baby. the smallest pony I have ever seen. We certainly plan to stay again and again...

This was a brilliant site, they had a seperate field just for tents. The shower blocks and dishwashing area were immaculate. Although there isn't a onsite shop, sainsburys is only a 5 minute drive away. The only downside to this site is that the tent pegs would only go a couple of inches in the ground due to hardcore under the grass but other than this we had a great time and would definatly return again.

Stayed here for the fist weekend in July in our caravan. The campsite is fantastic, its up a little lane and very quiet. The pitches are quite large. The toilet and shower facilities are excellent, in fact, this is probably the best we have seen for a few years. The showers are huge, lots of running hot water and very clean.
About 5 minutes walk down the lane is the local pub, which serves excellent food and ales, though not very child friendly (this maybe a bonus for some). About 10 mins in the other direction is the local shops, which has everything you need (chemist, spar, newsagent etc). The site is peaceful and quiet and very much a hidden gem. I will return.

July 2004 Nice, quiet little site - geared more to caravans than tents. Clean showers & loos, very peaceful and nice pub at the end of the lane! Only 1 gripe - no freezer for cold blocks.
