Another great stay at The Paddock. Site was quiet, facilities immaculate.
A great base for Weardale, Teesdale and Durham.
Always a friendly welcome from the staff. Looking forward to getting back next year.

Very clean - nice view of the river from the bottom of the site.
Good position for cycling, but be warned the hills around can be very steep.
Only disappointment was the daytime traffic noise which did cease during the night hours. It however was not oppressive

Lovely site, clean amenities, toilets/showers etc,
Nice big bays,
Lovely staff,
Reasonable price per night,
Only short walk into lovely village,
If I had one small criticism it would be that it is quite a size site with only 3 toilets xx

Management response: Thank you for taking the time to review our site.
Just to clarify we have 22 pitches and a ladies shower block with 2 showers, 2 washbasins and 2 toilets and a gents shower block with 2 showers, 2 washbasins and 2 toilets.
In addition we have a Unisex/More accessible/family shower room with a shower, washbasin and a toilet. There is also an external urinal. |

We really liked the site, it was clean, easy to use and the facilities were good.
The booking was very easy to do. We stayed on a Sunday so there was nobody on site.
We were given a number to ring if we had any problems.
We were given codes etc via email.
The town was 5 minutes walk away.
There is a nice pub, an Italian restaurant, a Chinese takeaway and a cafe.

Lovely quiet campsite, we thought it was nearer to Durham when we picked this site.
Toilets and showers were spotless but I found the water in the showers far too hot so I used the family/uni sex showers which you could turn down the temperature.
Nice quaint village but a lot of the shops were closed.
We drove into Durham which was lovely with its cobble streets and shops. We also visited Bishop Auckland and Darlington which was a busy town.
We would recommend the site and would visit again if in this area.

We've just got back from a 7 day stay at the Paddock, what a great site.
The staff are friendly & very helpful. The pitch that was allocated to us wasn't ideal as our awning fits on the opposite side, Anne Marie didn't hesitate in sorting us out a more suitable pitch.
Great location for visiting local attractions like Beamish, Locomotion, Durham to name but a few.
Excellent clean facilities as is the rest of the site.
I have no hesitation in recommending this site.
