We've just spent two nights here and have been very happy with our stay. We left it very late to book and this site was one of two we found in the area with availability over the bank holiday so we were a bit concerned as to why it wasn't fully booked, but we were pleasantly surprised. We were also a bit worried about some of the reviews, but again, there was nothing to worry about.

The photos on the website, and the view on google earth, makes it look very open. We like to position our tent against a hedge so we didn't think we'd be able to do this as tents are supposed to go in the middle open section. However we were very lucky to get a spot near the toilet block with a hedge behind us, so were very happy campers. There was also plenty of space between tents, and room for our gazebo as well.

Several reviewers said that the owners were grumpy or unhelpful. I was determined to get a smile, and to be fair, although they weren't the smiliest people I've ever met, they were otherwise perfectly pleasant and helpful. I also think that if you put up something you haven't paid for, you can expect them to come around and ask for the money. It's a business after all. And if you inconvenience the owner by leaving late or not sticking to the rules, then fair enough, you're not going to get the best from them.

The toilet block and showers were immaculate and the water was good and hot. This was especially good when you're trying to wash grotty pans and BBQ equipment in the three outdoor washing up sinks. A cover over these would make it better to use when it's raining.

One thing I would say is that the water tastes funny. After a few very odd tasting cups of tea, we went and bought bottled water. There are 3 massive supermarkets very close by.

The children's play area doesn't have any equipment as such, but it didn't stop our 6 yr old spending the entire time there with his new friends. A few swings might have added some extra fun, but it's a campsite, not a playground, so it's no biggie.

I could hear the road very vaguely at night, but didn't hear a train, and it wasn't loud enough to be a disturbance.

The free cages for BBQs are a great idea. We used cheap portable ones, then burned crackle logs on them for extra warmth, and there were no marks on the grass once we'd finished. The free fridge and freezer facilities also made life much easier.

All in all it was a nice camp site and we would hesitate to come back.

Just got back from this site, couldn't be happier. A large, friendly site, open spaces, but has that 'enclosed feeling' due to being surrounded by bushes/trees/hedges that cut out the residential area around it. Viewed on Google map, I thought it might seem busier and that the surrounding houses might encroach, but not a bit of it. With the exception of a little traffic noise, you might as well have been in the countryside.

Weather: Great all week.

Facilities: Excellent showers/toilet block, well maintained, £10 deposit for key very sensible. Although my van is self contained, still found myself using them. Good chemical disposal, but have to lift the unit to knee level. Not a problem though. I found no waste water disposal points, and was told by the site manager just to tip it into the bushes. OK, I suppose, but not ideal. Mind you, it simplified getting rid of it! No hose extensions on the fresh water points, so bring your own. 'Hozelock' type push fit with a short length of hose should do it.

We have no kids to take with us now, but the enclosed play area was a good idea, all the kids I saw seemed to be having a great time, and made friends easily.

Level site, though a little bumpy driving on and off, no problems. Apparently rabbits are a bit of a problem. Abundant wildlife, we counted squirrels, rabbits, plenty of birds including a green woodpecker.

Good electric hook up, our point had 3 connections for ourselves and either side, no cut outs all week.

Vans are round the edge of the site, tents tending to congregate around the play area and other scattered locations. Whilst we were there, tents and motorhomes particularly came and went on a regular basis. New neighbours nearly every 2 days, usually from abroad, and all very well behaved.

Supermarket and good priced fuel just down the road, easy 5 minute drive to the front, where work going on to improve the area bordering the Marina. Should be really good perhaps next year.

Road system links all the major towns quickly and conveniently.

PS If visiting the Portsmouth Dockyards, (and I would recommend) get an 'All Attractions' ticket (cheaper on the Internet) and GET THERE EARLY to see everything. It's a full day out.

All in all, very good site, worth knowing about for anyone visiting this coast.

Met on arrival by a bare chested man who made us feel we had interupted him. No welcome chatter just how much we had to pay. He told us that's was the first thing we had to do. As they have no card machine( although I don't recall this being mentioned on the web site) we had to go and find a cash machine. There is a £10 deposit on the key to the toilet block which we were told you forfeit if you lose or fail to return the key. We did request our caravan be next to my daughters tent but were told they could not accommodate this because they were busy, but there was no apology on not being able to do this.

We were shown our pitch which was reasonable generous along with the electricall hook up.

The fill point for the water was push button tap with no simple way to connect a filling hose. This meant yiou had to hold the button in while you filled your water butt and in the process got soaked from the spray this generated! I later managed to push my fill pipe hose onto the end of the tap and with a bit of effort held it in place whilst I fill my water butt and did not get wet quite a much.

The toilet block from the outside looked like a poorly maintained big shed which was probably last treated externally about 20 years ago. Inside however it was surprisingly pleasant and quite we'll equipped. Using the showers was a bit of a challenge as the push button for the water lasted only 5 seconds ( they seem to have a thing about saving 2 pence worth of water) this required you to hold it in to have a sensible shower. Toilets were fine apart from having no toilet paper on couple of occassion( best to take your own to be on the safe side)'.

There is no place to put 'grey' waste water so you just lett it run on the grass which coul create bit of an odour in hot weather.

Waste disposal point was adequate. The place for wasting dishes was exposed with no 'lean too' cover to keep the rain of you when washing up. As we had a caravan this was no issue to us but would to campers.

Layout of the site was generally ok but the 'road' around the site was vet uneven and rocky, just glorified dirt track in places and requires care otherwise you can damage your car.

If you have visitors, which we did, they had to pay £1 each for adults, 50p for children for 2 hours and £3 and £1. 50 for longers stay. Never seen this's charge before!

Getting in and out of the site requires you ( with a car without a top box) to remove a bolt and open a metal barrier which offer little if any security. If you have car with top box or when you leave with your caravan you have get a key to unlock an elevated steel barrier ( take care lifting barrier when it's wet otherwise all the rain water runs off the top and gives yiou soaking! No automatic electronic barrier for Daisey Field.

The leaving time is 11. 00am and penalty of £5 applies after this time. Normally the leaving times for such sites is 12. 00am but we suspect Daisy Fields is set at 11. 00am as it fits into the cleaning schedule as the Toilet Block is closed for cleaning from 11. 00 till 12. 30

We suspected that if we were after 11. 00am we would have a problem getting out and having to pay the £5 penalty, which they could easily take from the £10 key deposit. Maybe that's why they take the key deposit in the first place?

As we were with my daughter and son-in law and the grand kids who were in big tent we rose early as taking down the tent etc would take some time and we had Caravan awning to take down as well.

We got this done just in time ( 10. 57am) and my daughter went to return the toilet block keys for both us. She was not aware that here husband had key for the barrier( their car had top box) and the lady in question said she had to go ang get this which she did. She returned at 11. 03am to which the lady said they were closed and she had jobs to do and had she not read the signs with opening time! This was reminisent of FaultyTowers. Anyway my daughter did point out it was only 3minutes late and this was only because she had to get the gate key and the lady reluctantly agreed to open the gate.

The whole attitude of the people is nothing short of appalling. They treat you as if you are there for their benefit, have zero customer service skill, are rude and unhelpful and should not be in any business that requires customer service.

The issue ith the water supply typifies the attitude of this site, save 2p worth of water and make basic task if getting water difficult.

The site location is not the best surrounded by houses and at time obtrusive road noise.

The sad thing is that with just a few changes( like the water fill point for example) and proprietors with customer service skills this could be a more than half decent site.

We only booked this site as last resort as ll the other local sites were book. My advice is avoid this site at all costs unless you are really desperate. The problem lies with the people who run the site. They should change the name to Fawlty Fields?

We were really lucky to come across this campsite last year through my sons football club as a place to stay for a football tournament in Worthing just down the road. We arrive on the Saturday and left on a Sunday from then we have been back there 3 times last year.

Great, clean large Shower facilities, no extra charge and shower cubicles where you have 2 areas dry clothes hang up while you shower, not get splashed in some over the smaller site showers. Temperatures seem fine and you can set. 8 showers I think in total for men and guess same for women, so loads when busy.

We took our fire pits which was great and you could get some from the site. The centre area has a fence area which was great for the boys to play football in. Really close to sea and you can cycle to Arundel from here easily.

The staff I thought were fine, the boys loved playing hide and seek in the bushes, seeing rabbits while toasting marsh mellows on the fire.

A hidden secret gem which we love and great to watch the sunset go down with a glass of wine.

Ps superstore near by to get suppliers and if late down great fish and chips round the corner.

This was our first touring caravan holiday (been camping before) so we were a little apprehensive.

On arrival, easy and well sign posted, there is a large parking area by reception in front of the locked gates, we met the manager. He was very friendly and really helpful, gave me a lot of help in reversing, setting up the caravan etc.

The caravans are around the outer edge with tents in the middle, with a fenced off play area which wasn't filled with swings etc. It is a safe site as you can see the children from nearly every pitch. The pitches are fairly level and are of a good size.

The are a few standpipes for filling water and the chemical toilet disposal was always clean, tidy and didn't stink (been to a few bad ones. )

The toilet block was clean, the water hot and there is a £10 deposit for the key (nice idea. ) There were sinks outside for washing up & talking to other campers they were always clean and tidy.

The seafront is a 5 min drive, as is Sainsburys/Tesco's. It is in a residential area but it was quiet and were he were couldn't hear any noise from road.

The manager popped in once or twice to see if we were ok and one morning came over and invited me over to see reversing his trailer and have a go, also he did walk the site during the day and evenings.

We paid £19 pn with hook up, which during half term seemed good value compared to other sites in the area. This is somewhere we would go again especially as its only 1hr from us.

We have just spent 4 days at Daisyfields and were rather apprehensive about visiting there after reading the reviews on this forum.

Our main concern was around the site owners, I have to say that they were extremely accommodating and very friendly.

Our next worries were around the facilities reported to be an issue; Firstly I have to agree that the showers are way way too hot and no child could withstand that sort of heat, that said the toilets the showers are the cleanest I have ever encountered at a camp site.

Secondly, there is no protection from the weather whilst washing up which made it very testing during rainy days.

Lastly, the kids 'playground' was really just 3 balance beams and an old rowing boat half buried in ground, I think there were swings once upon a time but all that remains is the frame. My 5 year old was happy enough but would have enjoyed himself a bit more with better child friendly attractions.

I really honestly can't believe that these needs have not been addressed after the same complaints dating back a number of years! They are quick wins which would make this site a real gem in a beautiful part of Sussex.

Would we go back?. Well my wife wants us to consider not camping in France this August and returning to Daisyfields for a 10 day visit instead. Enough said I think!

We moved to this site having spent two nights at another site in the Witterings area. This site appears more of an organised site than the former. The field is pretty big and located in a residential area, it is secure and seemed flat/level. There are several electric points and water taps. The shower/toilet block is very good. There are plenty of toilets, sinks and showers which were very clean with good supply of hot water. They were unheated, but that made the shower even more enjoyable. There was a bit of noise from the adjoining residential road but not so much to make it a negative aspect. In terms of location, the site is easy to find on the Worthing Road and close to Littlehampton. We went racing at Fontwell which is a short drive away and if we were visiting this part of the country again, would probably use this site. Having paid £23 a night at the first site for basic facilities, this site was much better value at £17 a night.

Just spent 2 days at Daisyfields lovely site pitches are good and toilet and shower facilities are immaculatly clean.

Seafront is a 5 min drive from site there is also a sainburys just up the road.

Only downfall I found was the ground had some really hard points which bent some of my pegs but that's to be expected I suppose.

There is a fenced off area for kids to kick a ball around which is good as it keeps it controlled and also a playarea.

Overall a great site for familys and a quiet stay in Littlehampton the seafront is a must as it is beatiful and the crabbing is great to see

Spent 3 gorgeous, sunny days at Daisyfields this summer.

Daisyfields is a flat, grassy site with a few hedges to break up the terrain. Very child friendly - no nettles or other jaggy things! We were free to pitch our tent anywhere as it wasn't particularly busy.

Caravans are kept to the outer ring around the field with tents in the middle around the kids playground (4 swings, some swing-tyres, logs for balancing and a boat!)

The toilet/shower blocks are excellent. 6 toilet cubilcles in the ladies and 3 showers, 5 cubicles, 1 urinal and 3 showers in the mens. Showers were hot (a little too hot for my kids) and available all day except for between 11 and 12. 30 every day when they are cleaned.

They are cleaned every day and are well stocked with loo paper, coin-operated hair-dryers and lots of wash basins. You have to leave a £10 deposit for a key for the block but I think this is a good thing as it stops people (kids) running in and out and making a mess!

There are also 3 outside sinks for dishwashing and some standpipes around the site with fresh water.

The site is about a 10 minute drive to the seafront (a 30 minute walk?)

There is a fridge and a freezer which you can leave stuff in although these are not huge so space would be limited if busy. There are also old bbqs you can borrow and cages to sit disposable bbqs on to save the grass.

In all a very clean, family friendly site with good facilities. Would recommend it for a short break.

Stayed here for two nights midweek. Despite it being school holidays, the site was not particularly busy and there was an even mix of families, couples and groups.

There is a large kids play area in the centre so parents could sit at their tents and keep an eye on children.

The site also gets the evening sun.

The toilet/shower block was clean and adequate, as previously mentioned there is no sign on the door but it's not difficult to work it out. £10 deposit needed for a key.

There is a freezer for campers to freeze ice-blocks for free, dishwashing facilities and a chemical disposal point.

Littlehampton seafront was about a half hour walk from the site.

£14 a night for two in a campervan which we thought was reasonable for the south coast.
