Having read some of the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. However we found the site easily and went to go and pay for our stay (cash only - worth being aware).

The couple who run the place are very nice and being the Jubilee weekend were swamped. They did mutter about us arriving early, which I didn't understand the problem with but it's because they close the toilet block from 11am-noon for cleaning which makes more sense.

They were able to get us on to our pitch (we had electric hookup so had reserved three pitches together) and from then on were completely amiable even having a supply of tent pegs available though there is no actual shop as such.

The rest of the site is very picturesque, nicely tended if a little dated. There's a basic play area for the children and a larger fenced off area for kids to play ball games which is a nice idea. There's also a small road going round the site which I saw some large units struggling with a bit as they tried to get past some overgrown trees but for us it was fine.

The area where we were was not particularly flat (apparently it's an old landfill site!) as various parts have subsided over the years. It wasn't an issue though - until the Saturday night deluge when water pooled and did get in to the living area of the tent. It was pretty extreme weather though!

The shower block was very clean and nicely laid out with three showers, five toilets and five basins (for the men anyway). It is dated but is perfectly acceptable. The water wasn't always the hottest but I never had a cold shower.

The area is nice with plenty to do (though not much within walking distance) and we had a fabulous Chinese takeaway one night which was recommended by the couple at the reception.

All in all we had a great time despite the off and on weather.

Pluses - clean, well spaced out, relaxed, only 1. 5 miles to the beach.

Minuses - starting to look a bit tired, not much within walking distance.

We have just returned after spending 4 nights at Daisyfields. The site is very clean and the toilets and showers are also kept clean and tidy. Plenty of hot water. Washing up facilities are outside ok if its not raining but again clean providing the person before you cleaned the sink. Hot water taps are a bit of a pain as they are on a touch system so keeps stopping but I suppose it does not waste unwanted water. There is a play area for children with some climbing things and a fenced area where ball games can be played. No shop on site but a bus stop just about 7 mins walk. The bus service is fantastic every 10 mins to Brighton. We went on the bus to Worthing and Arundel and Littlehampton, great if you have a bus pass no fares or car park fees. I would recommend this site as it is really handy for visiting places and we hope to go again. A £10 deposit is asked for for the toilet block.

After reading differing reviews of Daisyfields on here we decided that we would go and stay there as we wanted to visit Littlehampton.

Initially we had booked in for 4 nights, which would have taken us over the bank holiday weekend.

On arrival I walked around the gates that block your way in and went to reception. Here I met an extremely rude woman who I was surprised to find out was the lady in charge!

We were given a key to the toilets for a £10 deposit but no information as to where they were, were the dishwashing facilities were or, in fact, anything other than - your pitch is over there.

I changed our booking to just the one night with the proviso that we could continue with our 4 nights the next day if we wanted to.

We cycled into Littlehampton after getting a map from reception (seriously, the disgust she gave me you'd think I'd asked her for the takings!) and found that it was a lovely little place to visit. We ate ice-creams on the harbour wall and lazed around the boating lake, then made our way back to site.

Eventually I found the toilet block and some helpful campers told me where everything was, just as well as the toilet door doesn't actually have any signs to inform you that this is what it is.

Please remember to take towels and soap with you even if just using the toilets though as no soap available and the hand towel was so dirty I dried my hands on my jeans.

We woke this morning and decided that actually, this site wasn't worth our money and so we left.

I certainly wouldn't recommend this site to anyone as we found it unfriendly and unhygienic.

A shame as with a bit of tlc this could be a hidden gem.

This could be a fantastic little site with a few alterations here and there. We were disappointed on arrival to be charged an extra £3 per night for the car we tow behind our motorhome.

Although dogs are allowed there were no bins for the disposal of our 'doggy bags' which we always use. Even general waste has to be taken to the only waste bins on site which are located just behind reception, I am sure they could have discretely placed some bins around the site.

Perhaps it is because we had a Motorhome that we suffered where others didn't but we found no provision for grey water disposal from our van and the push and hold taps made it a tiresome task to fill our fresh water tank.

I agree with earlier comments regarding the entrance gates being closed all of the time (because with the height barrier being closed vans are secured on site) and less able people would find it a bit of a nuisance having to get out of the car open the gate, drive through, get out again to close it.

On the positive side the shower block was clean and the showers nice and warm. There was little or no noise late evening and the site was nice and close to Littlehampton (only a few minutes by car).

We stayed there for 4 nights midweek, the couple who run the site seemed friendly and patient.

We were given a pitch that overlooked the children's play area which was ideal as we have 6 children ranging from 11yrs to 18months.

The toilet block is nice and clean, we were given ONE key to share between the 8 of us and had to give a ten pound deposit (which is returnable) for the key.The shower block does have a bathroom but it would cost you £2.00 to use for half an hour in which I didn't use, I used the showers for my 18month old much to his horror!

There are 3 washing up sinks outside the shower block, there is also a chemical disposal on the side of the block too and a drinking water tap next to the washing up sinks.

They also charge for visitors as I met a group of friends at the beach and decided to come back to mine and I ended up paying £6.50 for 4 adults and 5 children to visit as my friends were put off by that.

I was a little late in leaving and the man tried to charge me £2.00 for an extension till 4pm for leaving but had to explain that I had 6 children I was trying to round up at the same time as putting the tent down so he didn't and we left an hour later so bear that in mind.

The location - no mistake about it, it's ideal and easy to find and have lots of things nearby as well as the Beach which was about a 5 min drive, there is a little row of shops in Wick (a 2 min drive or a ten min walk) which consists of Domino's pizza, chemists, newsagents and so on, information on that wasn't given to me, we found that by ourselves by accident as well as a shell garage down the road.

Would we go again? Probably not, but may just do if they dropped the visitor's charge and the late eviction charge.Perhaps that is just my opinion.

Lovely site and friendly owners. The toilet and showers were clean and good condition. Lots of hot water and well lit at night. Kids loved the playground and made lots of new friends and we were able to pich where we liked in the central grass area. As we could face the playground we sat and watched them play most of the evening.

Littlehampton has a lovely sandy beach and lots for little ones with the play area and funfair. Crab fishing was popular along the habour wall. The Harvester was nice for a meal only a short drive away and a Tescos closeby too. Will be going again.

We camped here with a large tent and small children. We travelled by train and were able to get a bus from the station easily to the site, only a short walk at the end.

The husband and wife team were welcoming and the gentleman showed us to a spot that he knew was less windy at that time. I appreciated this attention to detail.

We were also right in front of the playground which meant the 2 year old could play out with his bigger sisters with no worries because he could be seen at all times.

The shower/toilet/washing up facilities were good, clean and well maintained. The site was good fun and there were many friendly families.

It is conveniently situated for the beach and the town. We found our way around with no problem. We are returning in August and will not be strangers to this site in the future either. Very happy times.

My wife and I are emulating the BBC 'Coast' programme and driving round the UK coastline. Although this site is in urban surroundings, we were made most welcome by the very friendly and helpful owners.

The toilet/shower facilities are only months old and spotless in the extreme. While we were there, we learnt that their lease runs out in February, 2011 and the Council seems hell-bent on taking it over for development in an already built-up area. This would be a tragic move

The grass and pitch quality is immaculate.

We have been going to this site for many years, since my children where small. When we first went the toilets and showers where in an old caravan and the owners of the site where fighting to get permission for a new block.

The showers and toilets are always clean and paying a deposit for the key is a good idea saves little ones running in and out all the time.I wish that people would respect other peoples property, while we where there one of the toilets got broken, and had to be closed for a couple of days good job it was fairly quite.

We pitched near the play enclosure but it was fine who. My family and I love this area and it would be a shame for the site to close. I find the owners very friendly and have no reason to complain they will just about do anything to help. Dont understand why people have made comments, they are only trying to protect their investment good luck to them I say.

Arrived here for one night. The site has a nice feel to it with a mixture of tents and vans although it's bang in the middle of a housing estate so don't expect scenic views but then again it is fairly near to the town.

The playground's a bit run down but ok and the toilets and showers clean and spacious with washing up facilities outside. There's a tiny sort of office come shop but nothing much in it but there's a Shell garage nearby for milk etc.

The only real downside are the man and woman who run the site. They give the impression that they're just minding it for someone else. They like everyone to leave by 11am so that they can clean the toilet block.

If you're in a vehicle you can't leave the site without one of them opening the gate so if you're late you're made to feel very guilty and that they're doing you a big favour. Thankfully we weren't charged the extra £2 for leaving late. Why not leave the gate open??

You also have to pay a £10 deposit for a key to use the toilets. This means that you all have to go to the toilet together or else wait outside for someone to let you in.

Would I go back again? I'm not sure, probably not.
