This site is ok. The toilet block was quite disappointing and a long walk from the camping field. We also struggled to get hot water at the washing up sinks. I'm not sure if they charged extra as it was a bank holiday weekend but £28 for 2 adults and one child seemed pretty steep to me.
I've stayed in much nicer sites for much less money. All in all it would be great if your in a caravan with your own facilities, but in a tent it was average.

Well organised site, which was busy and some statics. Facilities OK. Good walking straight into forest which I enjoyed with the dog!
We used it as an overnight as we headed north. It was fine for that but others were staying for a full holiday and exploring the area. Good picnic, play areas by river in good weather.

Excellent place to stop, I stayed right next to the toilet block which had a nice little kitchen area with large fridge microwave and sink, and shelves with books that can be borrowed. The showers and sinks were near the entrance (mens)and were clean with warm water. Site had a lot of nice touches and perfect for dog walks. The site was perfectly situated for visiting kielder water and the surrounding area. Will definitely be using this site again.

What a beautiful place to stay! A lovely welcome from the owner. It's a well set out site, very tidy and a bonus for us was staying in a tent and not wanting electric, we stayed in a separate field away from the main site, which gave us more peace and quiet through the day. Great hot showers any time of day and clean toilets with their own sink, nice touch! Freezer was great for popping things in overnight and the washing up area always had hot water. Yes, as mentioned previously, there are many, many midges but with lots of repellent and sitting inside by 8, we weren't too badly affected by them. And to be honest, the beautiful surroundings more than make up for them! I'd recommend this site to anyone, great price with great facilities.

We are staying at this campsite as I write this. As a couple with two dogs the campsite is great if you are child friendly. There is a little bridge with a stream right by our pitch and the whole of the sites children are drawn to it like moths to a flame. So if you're not into noisy kids choose a different pitch. The owners are brilliant, can't do enough to help. There is a strict dogs on leads policy on the site and an incident earlier today in which an errant off lead dog caused issues with my on lead dogs caused the owner to immediately adminish the owners. Walks are abundant and the views beautiful. The facilities are great with use of a fridge, washing machine and microwave. If we are ever in this neck of the woods again would definitely return. A really nice site.

What can we say about this little gem of a site except fantastic, the hosts are really guest friendly and always have time to stop and talk which isn't always the case on most sites. Lack of shop! No problem for us at all close enough to Otterburn or over the border to the lovley little town of Jedburgh, yes there are midge's but come prepared with repellent no probs we have sat and eaten outside with no real hassle. Walks from the site are to many to mention just brilliant. Showers are very clean and hot added bonus of toilet block down close to pitches with hand soap and towels. There is a washing up area with fridge/freezer and microwave. All in all we love this site and will return again and again anyone wondering about coming don't just book up and come and enjoy. Would say not for kids not much for them I suppose but to us that's another bonus

Found the site very easily and situated amongst beautiful forestry. Amazing views and a friendly welcome from Simon and his wife who couldn't do enough for you. Fortunately read site reviews so came well stocked up with food and diesel as could well appreciate the lack of any nearby shops could pose a real problem. A very peaceful and quiet site excepting when the ranges were in use but to us it all added to the excitement of the holiday. Many lovely walks and forest trails. Shower blocks and toilets clean with plenty of hot water likewise washing facilities. Nice to have a fridge freezer and microwave at hand. All in all we spent 5 lovely nights here and even the midges haven't stopped us from planning a return visit.

GOOD POINTS: lovely view's, warden's were friendly, helpful and also let you get on with pitching up, grass well maintaind, clean and tidy, a good few walk way's to take your dog's or cycle etc.
BAD POINT'S: no shop on site or near by, quite a bit of a walk from the tent field at the back (of which am told they only open when the full up, of which it was) to toilet's and shower blocks, I think if the put a toilet block in the middle of the field it would be spot on, but apart from that I cannot fault it.
All in all me and my family really enjoyed this campsite and Will be back again when the warmer weather come's back, but for the time been the cabin's looked nice and are thinking about stopping in one next time where up.

Stayed at border caravan site, booked for a week stayed 3 nights, 2 other familys booked for a week & stayed 1 night ! MIDGES. Booked after seeing a review in a caravan mag, wish had checked this site as it warns about them. Stayed at midge infested sites before but never like this. It was like a biblical plague millions of biting bugs. Couldn't sit out or leave a window open, walking the dogs was a nightmare. Lots of nice walks too, pity. So please book for 1 night to check them out but never go in midsummer when its humid.
