This is a brilliant camp site, shower block is clean and warm, and dry! Separate area to wash dishes, with a fridge freezer available to use.
Brilliant family who run it, will help out as much as they can, especially when ur tent is floating away down stream, third night of our stay, the weather was so bad the river burst its banks, me and friend were camped right next to it, the owner woke us at 4.30am to tell us to get out, he gave us shelter and plenty of tea, he helped us get our cars out the flood and also helped us get clothes and things out of our tents, the river went down quite quickly and we were able to get back into them by 11am, owner checked on us frequently after that to make sure things were ok.
Nice peaceful place, everyone on the site was friendly, plenty for the kids to do.Woods nearby and pretty stream.
Midges were pretty bad, but borders hospital wasn't too far away! (owner of place checked on me regularly to make sure I was ok) just bad reaction, never had it before!
Cant wait till my next stay, going for a weekend in September, so going to take my wellies and plenty of insect repellent, Thank you for a brill stay, I cant fault this place at all!

Came to this site by chance. Came here with 3 other families. It was lovely, with its gorgeous surroundings. There is a river on the site which the kids can play in. The forest walks and nice.
Shower block was great nice and warm with a radiator. The owners are really really nice and will help you however they can. You can even purchase free range eggs for a donation. Would like to go back but the midges are not nice on an evening and ealy mornings.
All in all a great site, quiet and picturesque.

We have never been camping before so decided to go somewhere not too far away as we have 2 children and picked Border Forest because of the location, we intended to spend 2 nights stay but when we arrived we were told to just book 1 night first in case the weather didnt improve, we ended up only staying 1 night as the weather got worse not better.
I cannot pick any faults with the site apart from the midgies but that is not the owners fault! It was a short walk over the water to the showers and toilet block but they were clean and warm.
On arrival we were given directions to the field for tents and told we could pitch up anywhere we wanted, there were a few other tents there but not many, there were horses in the field next to us which the kids loved.

Visited Border Forest Caravan Park at start of our annual holiday. Having booked 3 nights before leaving home, when we arrived, the owners advised us to pay for individual nights as the dreaded midgies were out in force. This turned out not to be a problem as they had an ample supply of midgie deterant spray in the site office.
The site was very clean and tidy as were the toilet, shower and dish washing facilities.
Boris, the giant sznouser, was very friendly and we were surprised to see that there was also 2 Alpacas on the site.
The location was ideal for touring. We visited Cragside House near Alnwick, Morpeth, Seahoses, Bamburgh Castle and Hadrians Wall during our stay here. These were all very intersting and visiting was worth while.
I would recommend this site.

Visited this site for 3 night stay, we had the worst weather I have ever camped in. The site is clean, tidy, the showers are hot and the room is heated. The facility for washing pots and pans only has cold water. There are recycling facilities. The owners are friendly and helpful. The site is situated with two streams on either side of it so you would have to be very careful if you have small children. Excellent site for walking your dog. There are some great walks straight from the campsite. Wallington Hall is a few miles away and well worth a visit. I would most definitely go back and hopefuly get some better weather.
There is no onsite shop so don't forget the milk and bread, there is a small shop in Otterburn, not within waking distance.

We stopped here for 2 nights from the 11th April, weather was atrocious so the site was very muddy and water logged. A barbecue in the snow is an experience. The weather isn't the sites fault though so on with the review.
Like a few sites we've stopped at the facilities are annoyingly situated next to the static caravans, this site also has cabins and motel rooms, again near to the toilet/shower block. Camper's and caravanner's have a walk to use the toilet/shower block although to be fair the site is a small one so the walk isn't that much of an issue, just a little niggle more than an inconvenience. With regards the male showers there is only one hanger in each of the 2 cubicles, there are hangers on the back of the cubicle doors but they have been broken off in both showers. The showers are free and are very good, plenty of power. The 3 toilets were fine and clean as were the 2 urinals. The ladies have 4 rooms with a toilet, shower and sink in each, these had 4 hooks in each of them? There are also disabled toilets but we didn't check these out.
The dish washing room is, again, a walk for campers, there is a sink in the camp field but its not covered and has only cold water. We forgot plates and bowls though so didn't use any of the dish washing facilities.
The surrounding area is well served by forest walks and we found 3 local geocaches, watch out for dog muck though on these paths as the site is popular with dog lovers.
Niggles aside I guess a indicator of what we think about this site is would we go again? The answer is a yes.

We stay here several times per year as it is very close to Otterburn Military Firing Ranges where several rallies are held every year. The owners are very nice, accommodating people and Boris the dog is a star!
The site is clean and well maintained, the husband of the ownership team regularly checks and remedies any problems.
One of the site's pluses is the quiet. It is next to the main A68, but several layers of trees screen the traffic noise adequately. One thing I reccommend is to set your alarm for around 2am on a forcasted clear night, go outside and look up. There is no light pollution at all and the night sky is absolutely breathtaking.
The shower/toilet block is always clean and hot water (free) plentiful. I noticed the men's showers had been replaced on our last visit.
All in all, this site is excellent. The only criticism is the lack of a shop - the nearest ones are in Otterburn Village about 8 miles away.

But apart from that its a lovely little place and everyone was very friendly. Will definatly be camping again, hopefully before the end of the season this year and already looking forward to next year.

The forest drive is a few miles away and is very good. Only down side is no shop so dont forget anything. Jedburgh not far where there is a nice butchers.
