October 2003 You can sometimes catch people on a bad day, but it has been infrequent and far between on the many occasions that we have visited this site. We have had a static caravan on this site for 7yrs. It is a friendly site run by a mother and son who have always been as helpful as you could ever want. This site has been developed by the owners from nothing to the high standard that it is today. The facilities are more than enough to warrant the site its four star rating. The site has no shop but there is a pub 1 mile down the road and the site owners do keep a few essentials if required. It is a deliberately quiet site for those of us who want peace and quiet and do not want to be disturbed by the rowdies returning from a clubhouse late at night. It is an ideal site for those wanting to get away from it all.

September 2003 Unlike some of the other comments posted on this page, I found the owners of the caravan park most friendly and helpful - perhaps those other visitors caught Mrs Bell on a bad day? The park is immaculately presented and clean, especially the toilets and showers, the grounds were also well kept. It was also a pleasant change to visit a campsite with tarmaced roads. The area offers a haven for wildlife lovers and walkers alike and I would recommed this camp site to anyone. Midges are present during the summer months but only for a couple of hours in the evenings.

Aug 2003 A lovely setting and ideal location for a sightseeing trip. A nicely maintained site with clean facilities, although limited showers and toilets for size of site. A pub or bar and an on-site grocery store would be a good idea.
Be warned the owners house is the reception so don't walk straight in, we suggest you knock and wait.

June 2003 Just came back from this site and was a bit disapointed. Arrived and went to reception (which is a porch on a house) - my partner thought it was ok to go inside but got his head bitten off! When we asked for an electric hook-up for the tent we were asked "what on earth do you want that for?"!!!
Its a small site next to a wee stream with lovely walks up into Redesdale forest. The loos (which were immaculately clean) were at the farthest end of the site from the tents. Also there was only 3 in the ladies and one was out of order - 2 showers (again, very clean and heated)
No play park for kids and although it was advertised as a family park there were 2 tents with young folk in making a hell of a racket.
Serious midge problem - not the camp owners fault that one though!!!!
It cost £28.40 for 2 nights for 3 adults, one child and tent and electric which seemed excessive for a basic site.
