 A very neat place.

We were warmly welcomed.

They were very helpful to advice our pitch.

You can easily walk to the bus station to Chester.

We will be back.

Delightful small campsite in a peaceful farm setting. Impeccably clean and well run, with friendly, respectful owners.

A pity, on this occasion, that the arrogant owners of a pair of motorhome thought it appropriate to create so much noise at night! They looked retirement age, but acted like a Benidorm hen party.

None of this the fault of the campdite; so still highly recommended.

Communication on booking via email with Pete was fine, Easy access from a main road into Chester via Ferry Lane then the long farm driveway.

A large grassed paddock is the main area for pitches, there is a paved area just outside that serves as a hardstanding but the ground was very firm, and the weather kind on our 3 day stay so we opted for sunny pitch 4.

The site facilities are clean but dated, I used our own but husband said the toilets were clean. Shower tokens are available from the farmhouse, and 20p required to access the warm water for washing dishes. Lovely farm with stables, a few cows & many horses.

You can access the River Dee from the farm, also a walk back down to the main road gives you the bus stop into Chester, we chose to walk it as it was flat, took about 50 mins.

The closest shops for supplies would be the Tesco along the Chester Rd or Morrisons across the river in Saltney, both a good 30 min walk, or 5 mins in a car.

Just a heads up, if you don't like dogs then maybe give this one a miss as the friendly farm dogs roam free as do the visitors dogs, our old girls never move far from the van, and loved not being tethered.

A truly lovely, basic, laid back site

Overall the campsite was basic but in good location, had to pay extra for washing up station and showers which wasn't stated.

Facilities weren't overly clean.

Situated a short walk from Chester along the river. The site is nice and quiet and pitches are big.

All grass so depending on what time of year you go it could be muddy or not. Facilities are right out of the 70's.

No heating that I could see, very basic, toilet in the mens wobbled when you sat on it and you have to get tokens from the farmhouse for the showers (we used our van).

Grey waste disposal was difficult, you have to lift your waste water up to waist height to drain it, a bit odd and not easy to do. The chemical waste is very rudimentary, basically a hole in the ground with a loose metal plate over it.

I've had to give a rating for customer service, but never saw anyone when we were there, so can't comment so I've scored it down the middle.

Great location to visit Chester. Clean facilities. Well kept grass. Nice to have a shower token included.

The tent area is near the horse field and training area which I love but if you are not fir horses and early morning sounds chose the area farthest from the horse gate.

Welcome from Jo, shown the available pitches. Good clean facilities.

A long walk along the river into the city centre whilst being very warm sunshine.

Liked watching riders practising their skills.

We would stay again, but would need bikes next time, or just use buses.

It’s a fantastic camping site - so close to Chester and yet you feel you are in the countryside with Badgers, owls, lovely vegetation and lots of birds. It’s also run as a horse stables.

The toilet facilities are kept really clean, there are nice hot showers and dish washing facilities. The sorting for the recycling is really good. There is a separate area for tents and then a hook up area.

It’s amazing as you are literally minutes away from all the Sealand road retail parks with tesco, aldi, Lidl and Asda plus loads of other shops and going the opposite direction towards queensferry road the Winfields camping shop is less than 5 minutes drive.

You can also follow the lane towards the river and you can cross over the bridge on what was a historic ferry crossing. It’s very popular with cyclists as well with numerous cycle paths going in all directions.

If you cross the bridge and walk towards Saltney there are some amazing stainless steel sculptures and interpretation boards and then Go Outdoors is there. If you stay on this side of the river you can walk into Chester past the sewage works and a children's park and you end up near the University or the race course.

Going the other way you end up walking past British Aerospace and if you are lucky you get to see the incredible Beluga plane taking the A380 wings land or take off. There is also an amazing cafe on the airfield where you can really get up close.

The location is amazing for a camping and caravanning site. The owners are very friendly and email you straight away for any enquiries and the price is very excellent.

Lovely quiet site, well spread out.

Facilities need updating but for £15 pn they were adequate.

Nice walks for the dogs from the site. Lots of horses which were lovely to see.

Handy for Chester with a good bus service from the bottom of the road.

Enjoyed our stay.
