This was an ideal site for our purpose - an overnight stay to get to the Birkenhead morning ferry. The site is quiet, clean, neat, and well kept.
All facilities are clean and in good order - an amazing range of facilities for the price - £6pppn! The shower is included in the price and allows you an unheard-of 15 minutes!
There's even pot-pourri in the shower area. We'd been camping in the Lake District surrounded by hills and rocks - and by contrast this is a bit flat and not noted for its scenery!
But it's ideal for the zoo or exploring Chester and Liverpool.
The CL field is surrounded by a dense growth of tall trees and more attractive than the general camping field, but you do get some curious horses studying you from across the fence and their occasional galloping thunder is terrific!
Peter is VERY friendly and helpful right down to a map of the area for shops and sights on request. He also sells top quality beef from the farm.
Thank you for a great site. (I don't remember any special facilities for children so it gets a lower rating for that)

Lovely site well drained field lots of space. Electric hook up.
Really quiet Facilities lovely and clean.
Cycling from the site is great. We went in to Chester but thought the park and ride was on to catch the bus. It wasn't 😬 so walked luckily the weather was dry but a fair walk about 45mins.
Definitely will return.

This site was in a rural setting, very peaceful and secure. Level field with ample electric points around site.
Owners where very helpful plus additional information leaflets in washing area.
Toilets and showers where spotless an obvious females touch with flowers near sinks. We are pensioner's one with artificial knee. The walk to bus stop is 3/4 mile which we managed without problems. The bus stop is outside car dealership so bus goes to the right to Chester.

Excellent site, very clean and tidy. Good sized pitches, beautiful scenery.
The only negative for us was that we booked as it was so close to the park and ride but when we got there it had been closed due to Covid, no fault of the site but maybe they could mention this when sending out their email regarding Covid restrictions

Nice flat grassy area for about 4 tents set close to a field with horses and a training ring.
Pleasant shower/ toilet/ wash in small block 25 yds away.
Very helpful lady caretaker who provides a useful schematic map of the area.
Bus stop to Chester about 20 mins walk to main road.

Our first time to this site and it was lovely. Good value for money. The owner was really friendly.
The site is nice with some nice views we had a hardstanding pitch due to the amount of rain.
Facilities basic but clean.
It was a 10 min walk to the park and ride into Chester which cost £ 2. 00 return brilliant value.
We will definitely be returning again.

Stayed here on a cycle tour of North Wales.
This is a Rural farm campsite.
Not far from Chester and close to the Deeside cycle path.
The owners are very friendly and helpful
The Campsite mainly motorhomes and caravans in a large field.
And the campsite for tents is at the far end in a small field next to horse corral area.
So can be a bit noisy also I was the only tent, If any large tents were there you would be very close neighbours.
But It's ok for a backpacker/cyclists stopover. £6 a night.
Found only one watertap outside toilets, and only one sink.
Showers need token 40p on timer, and toilets ok very clean +pot wash area
Also leaflets on view for places to visit.
Relaxed Farming atmosphere lots of animals as expected.

Hi. To all those people going to visit Chester! Try the open bus tour and the boat ride worth every penny? so get your duel ticket from the bus driver! it's cheaper than the riverside.
You must stay at thornleigh park farm, it's an outstanding little site. Very very clean with plenty of hot water in the shower block and the people are friendly.
The dogs on the farm are friendly also? but they can get into you awning if you don't take care, so don't leave rubbish outside. Great Great site.
