Stayed over the Jubilee Holiday. Easy Check in, £10 ref. Barrier Card + £1 electric meter card + fees!
Shown to pitch by helpful, friendly warden, showed us the facilities. Very, clean and spacious. Plenty of room in showers. 2 x Family bathrooms, which were helpful with the little ones.
The playpark was a hit with my son. AS was the fishing lake with my older son & husband and yes there are fish in there big ones too!
The site is nicely laid out plenty of space between pitches, however, at the minute there is a lot of work going on. Next to site is a new development in the wood that the park had bought. Also, in middle of the site is an ongoing Swimming pool/bistro, which apparently has been ongoing for some time now. Didn't really affect us as wasn't pitched near, but I wouldn't want to wake up and have a building site as a view!, that is my only criticism.
Nice area. Would need the car to travel places, nothing nearby literally in middle of no where, but that's how we like it!

Nice camping, large facility, places not close to one another, lots of space between units, owners very friendly. As it was cold and rainy outside, I wished the showers would have been heated.
The central unit was in repair, so we had to walk a lot to go to the bathrooms.
Otherwise everything was ok.
A little expensive compare to other sites, 26 for 2, electric and wifi.
There were a lot of families, but they didn't make noise at night it was very quiet.
We stayed there only for one night.
The playground looked very nice, but we didn't try it

Just spent a weekend at goosewood and cant fault it
Nice friendly warden saw us to our pitch. Spotless new shower block. Nice decent size shop and only £18 a night including awning, you had to pay electric on top of this but we only spent £2 and used all our facilities,
The location is spot on for york,
Nice fishing lake, there is a lot of statics appearing but I don't think it will affect the touring part of the site, as it is very large and they have cleared a lot of trees out of nearby woods to make more room. Not sure if this is for more statics or tourers,
All in all lovely place.

We have just spent a real windy weekend at the park, we had a lovely time stayed friday 12pm to monday 3.30,this is our second visit.
The electric cards are definitely a thumbs up.We got a 5.00 card and only spent 2.35 and we used everything including the shower. Usually we pay 2.00 a night so for once we have saved.
The site has really improved since our last visit, with a superb shower block and lovely friendly staff.
Only bad point is,it does not have a club house and everyone we spoke to said what a shame it has not a pub,so come on goosewood you have plenty of land and we want one of your log cabins as a little pub please - The pubs in the village are slightly too far
My husband enjoyed the fishing thank you for a nice week end Julie & Paul

Just returned from a weekend at this site, infact it is our 3rd visit. Like previously mentioned they have now introduced separate card payment for the electric. We stayed 2 nights and used £2.00 worth of electric, although we do not have an electric heater, we only ran TV and fridge. Electric cards are purchased costing £l.00 each and any not used can be returned or kept for next visit. I must say I was a bit wary of electric running out during the night and freezer defrosting, as you can only put 1 card in at a time and when that one runs out you have to replace it but luckily this did not happen. Personally I would of rather just paid for electric with the pitch fee. I was told this had been introduced to stop people using loads of heaters in their awnings and wasting electric. Some people will benefit from this system, like we did, other will not.
We still had a lovely weekend and OH and son caught loads of fish as usual. New toilet block was still under construction, but should be ready by Easter. Looking forward to our next visit.

Excellent Site based on previous visits but be warned have just checked for a booking this year and the site is having electric meters fitted which you will have to pay for with tokens. On top of the current pitch fees for 2011 (£25 per night + £3 per awning over the bank holiday).
The pitch fees on the site have become more expensive in recent years and although there's been some investment in the site over the last year it is to be hoped that the increasing charges start to be shown in the quality of the park.

Stayed here for a few weekends, nice site plenty room not crowded at all. There is nice shop on site with leaflets etc on places to go, take away menus there is even a mobile fish and chip van visits on a Saturday night.
Toilet and showers nice and clean, nice play park for the kids and can have nice walk round lake and through holiday lodges.
There are bbq boxes to use to stand bbq on to keep off grass, one of our favourite sites
There is small pool for hire for 45 min slots, activity barn for kids overall a nice site well worth a visit

What a wonderful site, we was recommended by a friend to visit this site. So we did and have now regrets what so ever.
Price was very reasonable, and there was no moaning when we turned up late and had to alter the booking. All staff was very friendly, we was greeted at 8 pm in the dark by the warden who escorted us to our site and asked that we popped our head in the shop to settle up in the morning. I explained that our friends were arriving the day after us and the warden offered to put the van in with his tractor as they had a very large outfit.
The on site shop was full of all your daily requirements and more, there was a play barn with pool and arcade machines, but to top it all the play ground for the kids was brilliant.
The pitches was very large more than enough room for anysize van / awning / car etc and from what we saw they was all hard standing.
Whilst we was staying there we visited the NRM National Railway Museum. Which we found to be a great day out. We paid £7 to park there and entrance was free although they request a contribution ( bins are located throughout the museum to do so ) we also popped out to Scarborough for the day seeing how its close.
All in all a great site

Had a very pleasant 2 days for our sons 7th birthday, we were very pleased with the huge pitches and lots of space between units.
We had a very nice pitch overlooking the lake and close enough to the play area for us not to worry about the kids who loved the death slide.
We hired the very small pool which was great fun as a one off, but it was a bit rushed getting the kids showered and dried within the 45 minutes.
We caught the bus into York from the bus stop up the lane (just over £10 for two kids and two adults return). Plenty of toilets and a well stocked sweet shop made for an excellent site which we will visit again.

Owners where lovely and polite, help us find are pitch and happy to help us in any way they could. Pitches were level and well spaced. Showers and toilets we fine, clean plenty of them. The shop on site had plenty to offer.
The children playground was great (yes I’m an adult but I ad too have a quick play), the children were no bother as they we all busy playing there or feeding the hundreds of ducks, Which was a lovely bonus. The fishing lake is a lovely view, we ate are lunch sat around the lake at the picnic tables.
I did enjoy the location as we were surrounded by trees, giving you a really camping feel. They is a Tesco super store very close by and plenty of other stores if your short of anything.
The price was a little higher than normal, if it had been just me and my husband and not the four of us to share that cost I may not of booked. That said it is a lovely site.
