Me and my husband have had a fantastic weeks holiday at the arosa again this year. All facilities are clean and modern and they have a great bar and the food is lovely and good value for money.
The site is beautiful and family run. The staff are what make this place so special. They are so friendly and always make you feel welcome and they will do anything to make your stay a comfortable one!
We will be returning asap this year and book again for next year its the best site I've ever stayed on and Scarborough is a great holiday base.
Thanks again to all at the arosa.

We stayed here on the august bank holiday weekend it is worth noting that this was the only site we could get on at short notice.
My points are as follows the lady that took our booking was very helpful when we arrived we had loads of room on a flat field until the rush came the tents were shoe horned in and the tent next to ours had the ropes over lapping ours I understand the need to maximize a businesses earning potential but this was silly we also had kids kicking balls into the tent several times as there was no playing field.
The showers and toilets are nothing to get excited about and a good walk from the camping field.
The food on the site was ok as was the small but friendly bar.
This was an ok site for a weekend but no longer its a shame as its in a good location for day trips.
All in all we will not be rushing back but with a little work this could be a great site.

We visited this site early May bank holiday. We were a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews but we found it lovely site. The toilets& showers were kept clean with plenty of hot water available, I did notice no hand wash soap was available but not a great problem. The pot wash area was great with plenty of sinks and hot water aplenty. The site itself is well kept and pitches spacious. We didn't use the bar area so cant comment. The warden was friendly and saw him walking round the site quite often and picking up litter. The three pubs in the village are all lovely ended up in one on Sunday where a live band was playing, a fabulous atmosphere. We will certainly return to this site when we are in the Scarborough area.

Warm welcome awaited us at this campsite, lots of information about the facilities were given to us, electric hookups available for our tent pitch, the owner even helped me blow up my air bed ! Dogs are welcome and the on site club catered for most guests including good food at a very reasonable price, we were even told not to rush off on the Sunday morning if we wanted a quick visit down to Scarborough we could leave our tent up until the afternoon before collecting it. Really good facilities, plenty of free showers available and a laundrette and indoor washing up area, basic supplies were available from reception, on the whole a lovely campsite which is extremely reasonably priced. Will be back thank you for our lovely stay

Just returned from a weekend at this site its had a bit of work done since our last visit but still needs a lot more to tidy it up. On arrival to the site we were greeted the owner with his friends and their motor bikes, more like a workshop than a reception area. The site itself in areas looks like a scrapyard. The skip was overflowing with rubbish. The toilets and showers are not too bad, but I did notice the sink in the gents with a crack in it, which has been like that for about 10 years. It has a pub on site which has been tidied up a bit with a new carpet, but at £3 pint for john smiths, we did not use it much. Again on the motorbikes every morning at 5. 30 / 6. 00 we were woken to the sound of them starting up and moving round the site. This site needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard and could be good.

Booked up for 5 nights end of sept basically just as the floods hit phone call to check if ok and told it was a little wet but ok, on arrival met by a very friendly man in reception area who showed us to our pitch and offered to help site caravan told us to get settled and come up to the bar for a drink and pay then, checked pitch and ground very dry for the awning.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful the bar was spot on, john smiths £3 pint, toilets were very very clean and loads of hot water (site was quiet), well placed for exploring the area
As has been said before a lot of static tourers on site but people didn't ignore you and make you feel unwelcome
Great value for money 5 nights hard standing with ehu £65 will defo come back here

I always book all our camping trips at the beginning of the year so that we can get on the sites we want and on suitable pitches for our large caravan. I booked a hard standing pitch for a long caravan which we were told, would only fit on a hard standing pitch by the playpark.
First of all we had a delay in setting off, our fault, and the site kindly agreed to let us arrive late. We were directed onto a large tent field for the night because it was already dark, then to move to our pitch the next morning, which was OK. The next morning though, the tent on our allotted pitch hadn't moved and the owners had clearly set off out already. Whilst the staff were lovely and friendly, organisation seems a bit manyana. They told us that this tent would definitely be going but, they 'don't really insist on a time'. We decided not to waste any more of our holiday waiting around, particularly because we had my young granddaughter with us, and set up on the tent field, with electric hook up. All very well because the weather was fine but, can be a nightmare moving a big unit like our if it gets muddy. The tent finally left around 2pm! We also chatted to another group who didn't end up with the pitches they had booked either so, we were not alone!
We were there for a week and a tent did come and pitch a yard from our awning for the weekend, which was a bit claustraphobic. Think they did that because they wanted EHU and also to be near to folks they knew but, there was plenty of room further away from us so we thought it a bit rude.
The site and facilities were very good and staff friendly and helpful. A lot of the site, as stated before, is taken up by seasonal caravans and folks all seem to know one another well. The little club is OK though we didn't use it much, food reasonably priced and location handy for getting around the East coast. The village has two or three pubs and small shops, if you want that.
We did have a lovely time so can't complain too much. However, maybe there could do to be a little more attention to honouring what people have taken the time to book and, which would save some customer frustration on arrival.

Stayed here for 3 nights in a tent and loved it, nice clean site, friendly people throughout. We were in the camping field where there was only a handful of tents so not over crowded at all plenty of room for people with children to run around. Facilities were nice and clean nothing to complain about, I had a shower about 9 am one morning and the showers were lovely and warm. Facilities on site were great also, nice friendly staff, bingo on Friday night, Karaoke on Sat and a Band on Sunday night. We also ate on site on the Saturday where there was a hog sandwich which we enjoyed thoroughly. Would definitely stay here again as site was fantastic and its in a great location for Scarborough, Filey, Brid and Whitby.

Quick Summary - Good site, nice people & facilities with pubs & shop nearby. Grass was a bit long on the overflow field.
More Detail - Stayed for 3 nights in with a group including 3 tents and a trailer tent. Booking was easy but maybe a little disorganised, when I rang to extend my original booking they had no record of it even though it had been confirmed a couple of days earlier.
I was given a pitch on the overflow field to be close to the rest of the group, this was near to the small play park and a water tap. The grass needed cutting as my 2 year old would often trip over on it.
The owners / wardens are very friendly and went out of their way to source some butane for our cooker as they had none in stock.
The toilet & shower facilities are good, with abundant hot water and kept clean throughout. Washing up sinks are inside with the washing machines, there are 3 sinks but we never had to queue.
There is a bar on site which provided typical entertainment (Bingo & Karaoke) as well as nightly specials from the menu including BBQ Steak, Chicken or Fish & Chips for around £6.
There is an outside drinking area under a large wooden shelter with benches & big TV - bonus for watching the olympics with a pint & chips.
I got the impression that this is a site for regulars who keep their vans on site as the staff & barman knew a lot of their names and were very matey.
Noise was respectable if a little louder in the overflow field, nothing too loud after 10pm so responsible behaviour was prevalent.
Two nice pubs and a well stocked SPAR type shop in the village. Scarb is about 15 mins door to door.
Nice site and would definitely go back, but would look for a hard standing pitch closer to the facilities.
