We were new to camping last year when we visited the Arosa site with our 2 man tent and motorcycle. We arrived in July and had a brilliant time. We booked for 3 or 4 days and ended up staying nearly 2 weeks much to the amusement of the camp owners. Unlike one of the reviewers I found Richard and Co very friendly. We used the club most nights and were soon mixing with the other campers and regular visitors. The toilet block/showers were excellent and so was the food served in the bar. We found it great that we could have a drink in the bar without worrying about driving. The local shops were close by and like others we found the local fish and chip shop very good. We used this site as our base and visited all the local resorts. We returned this year in May/June for the bank holiday but with the car this time and larger tent. Had another great time and have booked back in for September for a long weekend. I am sure we will be visiting this site many more times.

We first went to this campsite in April and this was our first experience of camping. There is a small shop, toilet/shower block which is very clean and there is also a club house where you are made to feel very welcome. They have karaokes on a Saturday night and bingo on a Friday night. You can get takeaways delivered to the gate, which we have done on many occasions (pizza, Chinese and Indian). I was impressed and found it a lovely campsite, we became club members on our 2nd visit which enabled us to get discount during low season on the pitch and on beer but unfortunately we loose out during school holidays because despite being a club member we still have to pay full price during these times which is just as much as a caravan pays which I don't agree with. The site is nicely set out but some of the pitches are bumpy for a tent and on the field at the very back of the site there isn't many electric hookups . Had a few problems with rowdy people after 12 but if you report them then they would be removed from the site.

Visited with my partner and our son aged 9. We visited this in May & September for a long weekend. Our visit in May was ok, the site was a little shabby around the club/toliets, but the toilets and showers themselves were fine. The set out of the campsite is lovely with bushes and trees making your pitch more private and there is a lovely, safe park for the kids. We did however suffer a little noise from neighbours on there return from a night out in the onsite bar. (our fault we normally avoid any site with a pub on it for this reason) We visited again in the middle of September and found that the site and the facilities were dirty. For the prices of the pitches it is good value for money. I would consider visiting this site again at the beginning of the season,

Stayed here for 2 nights (4/5 aug 06). Found it to be a nice site with good facilities. Clean shower blocks, (although showers a little small) and nice bar area serving food.
We stayed near to the childrens park area and on the Sat night had problems with the noise. Although the park rules state silence after 10pm, there were teenagers screaming and shouting after midnight, with parents not bothering to stop them.
The area we were in was covered in flies and wasps which made our stay less enjoyable, even with fly spray and the 'clearlite' lamp. The bloke who booked us in and took us to the pitch informed me that we had not been charged enough (£34 for two nights and it should have been £50), and seemed a bit peeved, which made us feel unwelcome, but he was pleasant enough when we saw him around the site over the next couple of days.
The shop had enough to get by and was very reasonably priced.

This weekend was our 4 month old sons first camping trip, along with our 3 other kids (aged 2, 4 and 7) and we had a brilliant time. The facilities were clean and well maintained. There is a small shop, a bar! and a kids playground (that my kids loved). The owner / staff? were friendly and helpful. It is definitely a family friendly site and we will be going back. There is a Morrisons, McDonalds and Hungrey Horse pub nearby and Scarborough and Filey are a short drive away.

This was our first visit to this campsite and I have to say we were very impressed with the layout of the park, we checked in with our son in his tourer and was allowed to pick our pitches together in a quieter part of the site. We used the clubhouse on the first night and had a meal which was of great quality and the prices were very competitive. On the second night we ordered food to take back to the caravans and we were told we could take drinks from the bar too. The toilet and showers were of a high standard and were cleaned regularly, our only criticism was that we felt that for the size of campsite it could do with another shower and toilet block as it was always very busy and we had to wait quite a while to have a shower. The site has a play park for children and there is a lane on the edge of a field to walk the dog, it is only a short walk to the village of Seamer where there are several pubs and a small supermarket and Scarborough is only a ten minute drive away. We liked the friendliness of the staff and will definitely visit again.

Brand new to camping! Thought we would buy the biggest tent available, a 16 berth sunncamp marathon - turns out to be a great choice. First tester was the Arosa campsite. First impressions - good, plenty of room for our massive tent however we were fortunate that we landed after the May bank holiday weekend and it was only three quarters full.
Nonetheless, the staff/owner Richard was very helpful and provided us with a sheltered spot with hedges. We booked in for 3 nights however the weather was great and we stayed an extra night. Shower blocks were clean, no problem finding a cubicle whenever I went, both shower and toilets, only downside were the shower cubicles were on the small side. There were an even mixture of tents and caravans and I found the majority of campers were decent families with respect for their neighbours.
Small park for the children which was handy, you probably think I have 12 kids with the size of the tent however I have a 4 and 9 yr old. Park was really handy for a five minute break from them.
As I am new to campsites I can't compare but my thoughts are that I would definitely recommend it. I had a great break and found the site enjoyable and the staff more than helpful.

July 2005 visited this site on several occasions in the last few years , no alterations have been made to the site since we first visited in 2000 , got a frosty reception the last time we visited which surprised us because previously we found the owners to be very friendly , toilets were clean showers hot , lacked light bulbs and toilet roll , wont be visiting this site again , but would recommend seamer fish and chip shop which is near to the train station , lovely fish and chips there .

May 2005 Great location with easy access to Moors and Coast. Loads of stuff to do in this area. Site well signposted off A64. Can't comment on shop / club house as didn't use at all. It was a very busy bank holiday weekend and the site was full.
The showers are free, clean, and plenty of hot water. I think this lead to some taking half hour showers! They seemed to get stuck in there, which meant by the time I got in the first morning, there wasn't any hot water left, had to wait an hour and then some. The second morning I got up nice and early, like I should anyway, and had a wonderful (quick!) shower. Despite the best efforts of many staff to keep on top of the cleaning, by the end of the weekend, the site was messy, especially the elsan point and washing-up area. I have to say that this was really a reflection on the campers/caravanners rather than the site management. I would go again out of season.

July 2004 We visited the campsite in July 2004 and we were very impressed with the facilities provided and we thought the location was excellent. Although the campsite is quiet there is always plenty of activity. My granddaughters and their friend made plenty of new friends including AARON, DJ and Adam and not forgetting Joe which made their visit more fun. We have read the other reviews and disagree that the shop was unmanned as when we were there was always somebody attending it.The children always had plenty to do on the park so they were never bored. We all had an enjoyable holiday and hope to be coming very soon. - ZOE AND CAT XXXX
