Stayed at this site june 17th - 23rd 2012. Great site. Free showers. Plenty of hot water for washing pans etc. Well kept. Village in walking distance 3 pubs special thanks to the londsborough for being so welcoming and dog friendly ( do great meals too). Fantastic shop in village sells everything you need including locally sourced meat which is very good.
Lovely guy Neil who owns site is very pleasant. Avoid booking when they have any rallies on the main field if you prefer peace.
All in all great stay would def go back as it is in great location to coastal resorts.
Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington and bit farther afield but worth a visit, Whitby. Would have been nice if our lovely friendly Labrador was allowed in the Clubhouse, needless to say we can't comment on it cos we didn't visit.

I came across this website while looking for somewhere to berth our caravan for the coming season. We prefer to find a good spot and stick to it rather than move about.
For the last 8 years we were seasonals at the Arosa but decided to call it a day at the end of last year.
The place has many good points, not as crowded as the big sites, friendly people etc. But for some reason the main entertainer was got rid of at the end of last summer & in our opinion the place took a step backwards. The attempts by the current people are poor & dated and there is no fun any more like there used to be.
For occasional visitors the site has a lot to offer. Nice area which is central for any day visits to nearby attractions, helpful staff, good local shops and services, nice tidy place, and so on.
But if you like a drink & a bit of fun on a weekend evening you will be disappointed. Either that or end up going to the village pubs like many of the regulars have started doing.
Each to their own I suppose.

I found some of the reviews here to be unfair, so thought that I would give my two pennorth.
We have been going to The Arosa for over 10 years now and more recently every weekend. There is everything you could ever need here for a pleasant stay alongside pleasant visitors and staff alike.
Unfortunately our circumstances have now changed and we will no longer be able to visit The Arosa, but believe me, after 10 years, we know what we are talking about, and please take some of the poor remarks on here as unfounded.
Obviously after an extremely busy school holiday period when the camp has been full, there are bound to be one or two things which take a bit of a knocking about, but now that things are becoming quieter any items requiring attention will soon be knocked back into shape.
In a nutshell, please visit The Arosa and see for yourself. I'm sure you won't be disappointed and will see for yourself that it really is the best place on earth. Why would we have gone there for over 10 years if it wasn't?

We visited this site to test out our newly purchased caravan. We used to use this site regularly about 5 yrs ago whilst tent camping.
On arrival the staff could not have been more helpful, being new to caravanning they assisted me in siting the van ( i.e. reversed it in for me )
The toilet/shower block although not changed over the years was immaculately clean with plenty of loo roll.
The small shop stocked the basics whilst just a short walk into the village was a supermarket /post office for all your needs.
The children's play area had enough equipment to keep the granddaughter happy.
There is a clubhouse on site although not very big was adequate it hosted bingo on the Friday and karaoke/disco on the sat. Games room above the bar for younger ones.
The clubhouse also does food we had a really good 3 course Sunday lunch for only £6. 75.
All in all a good stay and a very friendly site.

Visited in August at the height of the school holidays. Enquired by email several months before travel about a large electric pitch as our tent is 7m in length, was assured this was no problem so made booking over the phone and gave deposit. Heard nothing back and received no confirmation so rang to make sure they had our booking. Again I was assured the booking was in place. On arrival however it all seemed a bit haphazard, the chap on reception had no idea how much deposit I had paid - I could have told him anything - and initially said there was no electric pitch big enough as it was their busiest weekend. This is why I had booked months in advance! Another chap appeared and said that yes they did have a large pitch and showed us the way. The only info we were given on arrival was the bar menu, so it took a wander round to find the water taps, bins etc. The 6 year old soon found the playground.
The site is in a lovely village with 3 pubs 2 well stocked shops and a chip shop all within a stroll. You will need the shops as the site shop has very limited supplies. OK for milk and sweets but not much else. Its only a 5 minute drive to Scarborough and about 15 to Filey.
This could and should be a lovely site but a few things let it down for me. It just seems a bit amateur and poorly maintained. The grass could do with a damn good cut - especially round the hook ups which were surrounded by nettles 2 feet high - ouch! The toilet blocks are dated by the standards of other sites recently visited and I never saw them being cleaned, they weren't filthy but they weren't spotless either. Its also very odd to be handed a sink plug on check in as they 'keep getting pinched'! Its very quiet at night and despite it being August there were no queues for the loos, although only 4 showers meant having to wait. The site does not overcharge however and is in a lovely location. We didn't use the bar/club house so cant comment.
Overall could just do with a bit of tlc and basic grounds maintenance, fine for a few days but maybe not longer. Would I stay again? Probably not.

I went to this campsite not expecting a lot, but was very surprised, it was a beautiful site, all the staff where very friendly and helpful, the food was good and my children didn't want to come home. There was a little bar on site that always had entertainment on, there was a lot for the children to do such as the park and the games room which had pool tables and more. There is a little shop on site that sells the basics. The toilets where always kept on top of. Our electric went out late at night but there was somebody to come and fix it. There was also security cameras and a security guard which made me and my family feel a lot safer. I would recommend this small family run site to anyone it does exactly what it says on the tin, I will most definitely be coming back next year!

Very friendly and helpful people, just had 10 days there and it was very pleasant. We asked to be placed near the park and I could virtually touch the swings from my van which was good for us as we have a 8 year old. The only downside to the campsite is the toilet block could do with updating but is always clean. Its a bit tight for getting large units in and out but that would not stop me from going back there as the ups definitely out weigh the downs. The club house is good and the play room is ok for the kids on a rainy day for them to get out of your way. The park is very good and all the kids that amass round it always seemed to get on with each other

Just returned from a long weekend on this site, and were disappointed that there has been a marked degradation in the quality of it's facilities 5 years ago. Location is great, showers in need of some repair, broken fittings, and unfortunately not very clean. Toilets were fairly clean. Pitch had dog poo on it which we had to remove before putting our awning up and the rubbish skip was overflowing, still half full when we left today. A point to note is there are no rubbish bins around the site only the skip by the facilities block.

Booked this campsite as it was recommended by friends who we were meeting there at last minute for 3 nights. Staff were very helpful in squeezing us in the pitch next to our friends at short notice.
The location is ideal, lovely village of Seamer, and only a short bus route to Scarborough. Seamer has three pubs and a few shops, but the campsite also has a small bar with some entertainment, karaoke on a Saturday!
The toilet and shower unit was ok, needed a bit of a revamp but was clean and the water was hot! The grounds were nice, and lots of space to pitch up! Children were safe to venture around there was a little playground to use. Lots of lovely people staying there, but also the odd few up drinking till all hours and then throwing up!
Overall we had a fantastic time at Arosa and will definitely return.

Have just returned from a week at this site. The people in reception were nice and helpful, could not do enough to help us. The site on entering was tight the pitches are small and there were many as they are all squashed together. The reception area looked like a bomb site, the bar could do with being updated too. The rubbish skips were overflowing not nice. In certain parts of the site it looked like a scrapyard as there were what looked like scrap cars and motorbikes laid about upon the big field. The toilets and shower were cleaned daily but could do with a revamp, one urinal in the gents was leaking. Children's playground looked alright but did not affect us as we do not have children. I think the site is expensive for what it is. There is a good chip shop in the village and it is handy for Scarborough. All in all I will not be going back till it gets major work done
