We enjoyed our stay at this site, very relaxed atmosphere and reasonable pricing. Site facilities are basic but clean. The camping field is huge and basically you pick your spot and stay there.
The nearby airbase is noisy but you soon get used to it and by all accounts is closing next year? There are lots of things to do on Anglesey and this is a good base to find them from.
If you are looking for a lively all action site, this is not the place for you. Ideal for families who want to relax and unwind. No doubt we shall visit again.
The toilet/shower blocks do need rebuilding, very basic and small for a park of this size, but they are clean.

Just got back from 2 nights at Bodfan and found it a lovely peaceful site, the RAF planes going over was very loud but interesting as its not something you see at home everyday! Just a short walk to the beautiful beach at Rhosneigr.
I would recommend this site if you're looking for a relaxing break. (Don't try and nap during the day though as sometimes the planes take off quite often!)
The only downside we found was that the toilets only have one sink for about 6 loos, this seemed a little odd and even though they are well stocked with loo roll there is nothing to dry your hands with (after you've used the 1 sink!).
As we were only there for a short break we didn't use the shower block but they looked fine.

Its been 6 years since my last review of Bodfan and during those 6 years we have been to Bodfan approx 15 times. Sometimes for 1 or 2 nights, last summer for 10 nights and during the recent late may bank holiday for 3 nights.
I am on my 3rd tent and have aquired, literally, a large estate car full of camping gear (we now take 2 cars!)My boys are now 7, 10 and 13 and still get excited when we arrive at Bodfan. The site has added a tarmac access road and has maintained the same toilets, showers and washing facilities in the same clean, tidy and well stocked condition (they have been painted each year).
The town has also changed little in those 6 years with the odd exception(the dreadful Maelog Lake pub being replaced by the fab 'Oyster Catcher and Will's Bar', a new cafe adjoining the surf shop and a cafe & pizza place)but the main reason for coming to Rhosneigr is still just the same. The amazing beaches, the surf and the sun!(during the recent BH my tan after 2 days of good weather was so good my work colleagues wouldn't believe I had been to Anglesey).
We don't even notice the RAF anymore (although if your not expecting it I can see why it has upset some of the other reviewers)and the fact that even though it must be one of the cheapest places to camp in North Wales you can always find a place to pitch your tent.
Thanks to Alwyn and Family for changing nothing and looking after our 'holiday home' on Anglesey.

We have been using this site for our main holidays for the last 15 years it is always clean tidy and well maintained the showers and toilets are basic but are cleaned every day there is a nack to the showers but 40p (2x20p) is always long enough for a good wash the ehu's have never tripped out on us if you want the night life there are some very nice pubs and restaurants within the village all within a 10 to 15 minute walk
The beach is fantastic and if you have a 4x4 and a boat or watercraft with a 10hp engine or less you can drive onto the beach for free for larger boats you have to pay or if you don't have a 4x4 there are always lots of locals with tractors that will launch you for a fee
Yes the site is under the flight path for the air base and you do get noise from the jets but we are used to it and we hardly notice them now you either love the site or you don't we do and we will for a long time to come

This is our first visit to Bodfan farm and it's in a lovely spot. The views towards the mountains are spectacular and it's only a 10 minute walk to Rhosneigr which is handy if you want to have a glass of wine with a meal.
Despite it being Easter weekend the place isn't packed out so there's plenty of room for our children to run around and play. The facilities are basic but clean, it has the old school feel of the campsites I visited as a child.
We would return.

The campsite toilets were very clean and there were new toilet rolls in every cubicle as well as nice liquid soap. The showers had strange signs up about not defecating in the showers (!) and you had to pay 20p to activate them. We only stayed one night so didn't get to try them but I don't like the idea of being on a timer, especially with a toddler!
One of the reasons we left after one night was the fact that we felt we were staying in a war zone. Having been to war, my husband can vouch that it sounds exactly like Bodfan Farm! Why do other reviewers completely fail to mention the RAF base sitting directly next to the campsite?! Our toddler screamed and clung to our legs every time a jet took off - which was about every 3 minutes during daylight while we were there. The Chinooks were also very loud flying overhead to land. There was a major exercise going on and it was unbelievable to the point of comedy! We really felt we had to mention this! This campsite is only really suitable - and probably very exciting - for jet-loving people!

Can only support previous reviewers comments. This is a simple and straightforward site, facilities are basic and clean and never crowded. There are no children's play areas. There is a very good dog walking area.
We stayed a Sat and Sunday night after the May Bank holiday which was also the end of half term expecting it to be busy but there was plenty of space for everyone.
As previously mentioned there are two areas, the top fields are more protected from the wind but the lower field has by far the better views across to the Snowdon ranges.
All pitches are grass. There are limited EHU pitches, most of the top field and then along the top of the lower field.
Cost was £14 with no EHU or £20 with, that's the same price as the other two sites adjoining it both of which are mainly statics and seasonal pitches and quite crowded. I'll stick with Bodfan Farm thanks very much !

Spent 4 nights at Bodfan farm over the May Bank holiday weekend.
Great site with huge camping field. Quite a lot of the area is sloping which helps to spread the tents out a bit.
Facilities were basic but clean. Showers were 20p probably need 40p if washing long hair. Hot water for washing dishes is 20p. Free use of freezer for ice blocks.
Owners really friendly and welcoming.
Our 3 year old loved exploring the site with tractors, chickens, ponies and sheep.
Really relaxed site and will definitely be going back.
Rhosneigr beach is very popular with wind surfers. Kite surfers and kite buggies. Village has a good convenience store and a few pubs and cafes.
Right next to RAF Valley so interesting for the plane spotters out there.

We have just visited this site for a few days some of which were sunny for a nice change, the views are wonderful over the island and the Snowdon mountain range, the grass was kept short and there are chickens which roam the site
The toilets were separate from the shower block which cost 20p for a shower but the water was good and hot having the facilities separate seems strange and they could both benefit from a good scrub and update
The electric is 10 amp and tripped out when we boiled the kettle with nothing else plugged in. We did go to the house to report this but the owner never got back to us in fact the only time we spoke was on the day when we left and the wife of the farmer knocked on our caravan at 7. 45am to collect out site fees, I did comment on the early time to be collecting the money but she said she had to go to work
All in all a nice quiet site which is in easy reach of the village and sea shore which has a few pubs a fish & chip shop and two convenience stores for any major shopping your best to find Asda at Holyhead
Would we go back? I expect so but not for a few years, I cant comment on the child friendliness of the site as we have dogs

We have visited Bodfan many times over the past few years, first in a tent with children ( its a family run child friendly site with horses and chickens), then in a campervan and now in a caravan ( kids have grown up). We have always had a great time.
The site is always clean, tidy and peaceful. You are free to pitch where you like, its a large site so you can choose a spot that suits you!
The grass is always kept short. The owners have recently improved the site by installing tarmac driveways and in several areas the ground has been made more level.
The showers are 20p and are always hot and clean, the toilets are cleaned regularly too.
The site, which has fabulous views of snowdonia, is about 5mins walk from Rhosneigr beach which is a fabulous watersports playground for winsurfers, kitesurfers and surfers. There's a watersports shop by the beach where you can hire kayaks to explore the bay or you might prefer a surf lesson.
The local pubs are nice and the people are friendly. The y morfa now has a thai restaurant/ takeaway. I'd also recommend sandy's bistro. Along the coast there are some lovely beaches such as broad beach, cable bay etc etc. There's even a golf course round the corner and some tennis courts.
We have always found the owners to be really friendly and helpful. There's no night club or entertainment on the site at night (there are bands on in the village some weekends if you want that). Just a fabulous view of the stars.
