Stayed in the top field with electric hook up for nights 1 & 2 of our first motorhome experience, after hiring one for a week.
Nice basic site with everything clean and tidy. Flexible departure allowed on the Sunday. Kids were free to cycle around, play football and meet other kids in friendly environment.
Being new to campsites, we only realised at our next site that some places ban bikes and footballs - isn't that what camping's all about!?
Fortunately, the owner here is relaxed and leaves you to it.
Shower and toilet block clean and basic.
Will definitely re-visit.

Just back from spending 4 days at this great site. It was just what we wanted - at one point we had the whole field to ourselves. There's everything here that you could need, toilets and showers very clean (20p gives a good hot shower), wash up facility, a tumble drier and a freezer. Rubbish is removed every day, the grass is mown and the owners are friendly. We didn't meet the farmer for 2 days (probably because it was so quiet) but after that he called round each morning at about 9.30 for the fees. Never felt hassled, didn't get a 'rule book', dogs allowed but remember, this is a working farm with sheep so they must be on a lead/tethered.
If you decide to walk to the beach and take the track and walk via the lake, beware the first stile - it's the old fashioned type designed to seriously keep dogs out of sheep fields - the ones you climb with a metal bar across the top. We managed to get our collies over, but our large GSD struggled so we gave up and went down the road. If you walk to the beach via the road, it's about a 15 - 20 minute walk back to the village and then to the beach from there, if you go the other way it's about 30 minutes over the dunes. We did this walk every evening and leads to a beautiful quiet part of the beach across the estuary from the main area. Probably too far to walk children to the beach this way but after about a quarter of the way there's a nice deep channel with a bridge across. If you follow this along it shallows off and we saw quite a few families with small children with nets and buckets trying to catch the fish.
The village is very quiet, has a few pubs, a convenience store,a chippie, a bistro and a few other nice little shops (a Fat Face!). The beaches are beautiful, all dog friendly and are very popular with the windsurfers.
This is a great site if you like peace and quiet, lovely walks, friendly hosts and Anglesey magic, probably right for you.

We visited this site with our brand new tent - for our first experience camping. We found it easily enough and just found our spot and set up. It was a peaceful site other than the RAF valley planes fly bys (weekdays) - but we loved watching the air displays - they were part of the experience - got some brill photos. The nearby beaches are beautiful - some great wildlife - lake nearby - the whole island accessible by car for days out.
The toilets and shower blocks were basic yet always clean (although me having a phobia of woodlice is not truly compatible with the camping experience of sharing my toothbrush and shower with them - my problem to deal with really though!). Facilities for freezer packs available and some EHU.
Alwyn the owner came round the next morning to collect fees - very friendly - advice if required and reasonable fees.
We loved it and went back again for our next trip of 5 nights later in the season and will definitely be back again this year (2008).

This is a huge site with plenty of choice of where to pitch up. I found the facilities rather basic but clean non the less. A good modern shower / toilet block would not go amiss here nor would an on site shop. The nearby village was also basic but there is lots of development going on and I think this would give the campsite a good boost in business in the future. The beautiful beach is only minutes walk away and the site is a great location for people into beach sports (in and out of the water) I would love to go back with my wet suit and snorkeling gear. A lot of aircraft noise during the day though but if you're out and about, this doesn't really matter.

Have just spent a week at this site and absolutely LOVED it. We were a bit apprehensive as previously we had only used sites with more facilities for the children (playground, tennis, table tennis etc) - this site has nothing along those lines but the children (ages 9 and 6) were happier than they've ever been and entertained themselves for hours exploring, flying kites, playing French cricket or just rolling down the hill! We loved the views of Snowdonia and fact that we were about 30m from our nearest neighbours.
The facilities are basic but clean - one toilet block (with one handwash basin, cold water only), a separate block with showers (20p) and basins (hot and cold water), and a room with freezer, spin dryer, tumble dryer (£1) and 4 deep sinks. There are two outside taps (one on the upper field and one on the lower field) and plenty of bins scattered about, which were emptied every morning without fail. There is no need to book unless you need electric hook-up - just turn up and pitch. Be warned - you will probably be woken by RAF jets at about 7:30 (not at weekends, though).
Rhosneigr (5 to 10 minutes walk) is small - a couple of pubs, a fish & chip shop, a fab ice cream shop, a few restaurants, convenience stores and a couple of clothes shops for surfing dudes. Llangefni has the nearest petrol station and supermarkets. The beaches in Rhosneigr are stunning & very quiet if you walk for 5 or 10 minutes in either direction from the centre. You can also continue along the track past the campsite and turn right along the lake, over the road and through the sand dunes to get to a lovely beach (15 -20 minute walk). From here you can walk along the beach back to the village. Rhosneigr is very popular with wind surfers and kite surfers, especially at weekends, but also fine for body boarding and buckets and spades!

Visited the site for a 5 day stop - weather awful but this did not detract from a brilliant holiday - the site is very basic, but lovely with it, some beautiful views towards Snowdonia. The beach is within walking distance if you don't mind a little trek (or you can drive if you want). The site has a toilet block with approx 6 toilets in each (boys and girls) with a good supply of 'soft' toilet roll - it also has a cold water hand basin in the corner - with the added luxury of a bottle of handwash. The loo block is old and cold but what do you expect on a campsite - it is however clean (apart from the spider webs). Around the corner is the shower block, this is in the same older state as the loo block but equally as serviceable - there are 4 sinks with hot / cold water, and three showers, the showers are electric and have a 20p coin meter (don't use number 3 in the girls though as the electric does not seem to last as long as the other 2 - which last long enough for a good shower). Finally there is the utility room - they have 4 large sinks (again, another 20p but the meter does not always run out so you may not have to pay on every visit), there is also a freezer (free to use) and a tumble dryer (£1). The site fees are £4 per adult and £2 per child - not sure on the electric hookup fees but there are a few dotted around the site and I would not imagine they are that expensive - the site owner comes around approx 10 / 11am to collect the fees - he just sits outside your unit in his car until you come - he seems ok but his partner and kids are lovely and very helpful. There is an internet cafe in the town with good food, also a couple of small spar shops where you can get most things - one thing though dont eat at the Maelog Lake Hotel - it looks lovely but is pretty nasty inside - very basic food in very basic settings. In a nutshell - a basic site with lots of room for the kids to run around and be kids again - with basic facilities but generally very relaxing. We will certainly be going back.

I have been to Rhosneigr on many camping holidays and have found Bodfan farm to be brilliant value for money compared with other sites in the area. There are toilet and shower blocks along with freezer for ice packs and ample washing facilities for a camping holiday including large sinks, spin and tumble dryer. Hot water for showers and washing is charged at 20p but this gives you ample time for a good hose down and guarantees water to be hot, unlike other sites in the area which run on emersion and when its gone its gone!. There is loads of space for the kids to play young and old!. It is only 5 minutes walk from shops and beach, chippy is good too, pubs and bars only a short walk too! The things that are best for me are the views of the mountains and the stars at night oh and the free air displays from RAF Valley! (can be noisey but you soon get used to it) Not to mention it was only £12 per night for 2 adults and 2 children in a tent (£4 per night cheaper than the site round the corner! and better facilities!) and its CLEAN and FRIENDLY, will return again next year

This is a great little site, basic but all facilities are VERY VERY CLEAN. Lots of toilets (and good supply of loo rolls - always), six showers , 20p lasts for ages and really hot water. Washing up sinks, clothes dryer, freezer, - all you need really. This year July 2006, a pitch only was only £10 and extra £3 for hook up. It is best to contact Alwyn first to reserve electric, but there is loads of space otherwise. The top fields are sheltered, and the view is very pretty. The Valley aircraft can be a bit noisy, but the displays for free are brilliant. Red Arrows often fly here. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead. There is a lane leading down to the lake, and the beach is only five minutes away. Two good pubs are minutes walk away, and the chippy the same. Alwyn is very pleasant and really helpful, expect him to come around at about 9.30 each day for the fees. We stay here quite often , rain or shine. And have had plenty of the former !.

Visited in April, the site has basic facilities i.e shower block & toilet. The owner we found to be very helpful and was always around for local advise. The village was only a short walk from the site, shops included- local pub, chip shop, Internet cafe and local spar. My two children enjoyed the freedom of the site playing lots of ball games. We would recommend the site if you like peace and quiet.
