Hi,
We started visiting this site many years ago and found it a peaceful tranquil site, with spacious pitches and nice clear grassed areas with views to the river.
That has all changed now. In the bottom field which still remains adult only at this time, has had two pods sited. The once free grassed areas are used for, caravans, Motorhomes White Man Van and tents. During our recent visit, at leat half a dozen vans were crammed onto the grass areas, makeshift workshops were then set up to work on their motorbikes. Sadly the latter users think nothing of trampling across your pitches with fag in one hand and a beer in another.
The downside of the random pitching is the damage to the grassed area's. Great if you are after the festival feel.
Safety gaps between vehicles are not followed. The top field is used mainly by sited tourers and a second field has been added. The extra footfall might be great for revenue, but no expansion has been included in the amenities such has toilets and showers etc.
The once top field reserved for dog walking is now shared with a 5 aside football pitch and the other top field also has a climbing area for the children. The added £2. 00 cost per dog despite size is extortionate.
Unlikely to use again despite being regular users in the past. SHAME.

A first class site, the guys that run it are very friendly, knowledgable and couldn't do enough to help. Its really well equipped and spotlessly clean.
We had no children and there were none there while we were, so can't comment on child friendliness, but I would be surprised if the kids weren't given a warm welcome.
We were right by the river, and I don't think I could have asked for a better spot to spend 2 nights. Will definitely be going back

Peaceful, owners very friendly, organised welcome leaflets, toilets spotless, on site shop very well priced, owners went out of their way to help us as we are very new to setting up a caravan and awning.

We (a couple with two elderly dogs and an elderly caravan) have just returned from an 8 day stay at River-View and have already booked our next stay. This is a small, friendly site tucked away in a pretty valley yet very easy to find, with good access to beaches, woods and the Black Mountains. There is a stream running alongside the adults only field, a ford at the end of the lane, a dog walking field, and a small woodland walk with stream, as well as sheep, chickens and pigs.
The spotless facilities block is in the middle of the site, with lots of hot water - both for the showers and for the washing up area. The showers have under floor heating, bliss on a cold morning! There are plenty of water points, general waste bins and a recycling area for cans, papers etc.
There is low level lighting at night but we would suggest taking a torch for those night time excursions.
The owners are friendly and helpful, suggesting dog friendly places to visit and lending us with an extra electric cable when our cable wasn't long enough to reach the power point. There are plenty of basic supplies at the reception shop, and DVD's to borrow for a donation to Air Ambulance.
All in all a well located, clean, tidy, friendly site.

Really lovely site. First class toilet block, and all the facilities you need for a motor home. Only stayed three nights but will hopefully stay longer next time. Very easy to find, even in the pouring rain. The site was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and helpful, even being able to supply us with a new gas bottle to replace our empty one. Drove into Swansea, only about 20 minutes down the road, and used the Park and Ride which was easy to find.

What a gem! We arrived for our first visit on the Saturday of the spring bank holiday week-end. The site was full - but it was so peaceful! Our (adult-only) field was surrounded by trees with a stream running round it. The sparkling toilet block was nearby. The facilities include a well-stocked book and DVD library with donations for the air ambulance requested. I love the idea of having animals (pigs and lambs) in fields by the site. The shop is very reasonably priced and stocks things like eggs from the hens which have a grassy paddock on site. There is a lovely climbing frame for children up the hill, or a ford across the stream down the road which our 3 year old grandson enjoyed when he visited us.
All the friendly fellow campers I chatted to were as complimentary about the site as I felt. The only downside I can possibly come up with is that it was possible to hear the main road, but in a way that only added to the atmosphere of peace and tranquillity!

Just returned from 4 days at this superb site. New owners in February 2016 were extremely friendly and helpful. We always used club sites but this time went to this one as near to our daughter in Swansea. The site is spotlessly clean and well up to the standard of club sites. Three fields of camping with one for adults only if you don't wish to be bothered by children. Lovely and peaceful, yes a nearby major road but there was no issue with noise. There is only one toilet block on the lower level but the owners have plans to install one in the top field. This however wasn't an issue for us.
We will definitely be visiting again for a longer period next time. Highly recommended.

Stayed for 2 nights with our grandchildren. Lovely site and very friendly. Owners let the grandchildren in with the chickens to find eggs which we cooked for their breakfast and loved them. They had a great time in the stream on the site. Will definitely return to this site in the near future.

A very pretty and peaceful site. Everything is clean and well looked after and the friendly owner has made some really pretty walks in the nearby woodland. There is some road noise but this doesn't affect the overall calm of the site. Toilets and showers spotless, small shop on site. 10 min drive to Welsh Botanical Gardens which are well worth visiting. As mentioned in previous review you need a car to go anywhere as there is nothing within walking distance apart from a few short dog walks.

River View Touring Park is a great site. Very well looked after. Very friendly. The toilet block is great, and kept clean. Showers are great too. The surrounding area is very beautiful.
I would 100% recommend this site for people to visit. It is located in a very picturesque part of Wales. Easy to get to towns from there too. And no need to worry if you forget some essentials, there is an on site shop.
The site is also very picturesque, very beautiful.
