Access to site would be a bit worrying if you met another unit leaving as last part of road is narrow and a few bends. Great welcome and hosts helpful throughout visit. Lovely shop which stocked all you needed, except batteries for remote control of television. Great tv reception although there was a lot of trees. Toilet block was clean and tidy although the notice to clean the showers after you with the provided mop was a first for us and the paper bins seemed to be full a lot of the time. From our location it was a bit of a walk to the dog walk in the field so last chance for dog to do what he needed to had to have a torch and was a bit spooky.
Didn't venture out to local places but others said lots to visit around us.

This was our 3rd stay at River View in 2 years. It is a lovely, quiet, picturesque little site with a small river running alongside the field that is mainly reserved for adults (bottom field). The 2 other fields up on the hill are for families, although there is no children's playground, which is why I've only given a middling score for 'child friendliness', but there is space for children to play in the middle of the field where the family sections are.
The facilities are excellent and the pitches very spacious. There is some road noise from the busy A48 nearby, but this didn't bother us and the sound of the birds and the river more than made up for it. The owners and wardens are very friendly and helpful.
The only downside for us is that it's only 3 miles away from where we live; were it further away we would stay more frequently! Keep up the good work, Keith, Kath & co!

Stayed for 2 nights, very nice site, easy to get too off m4, we stayed at the top field on a service pitch, very well spaced out pitch and well maintained. Small shop on site, wardens friendly and showed us to our pitch, toilet / shower room very clean water pressure poor for showers. A bit of road noise but it didn't really bother us, big playing field in centre of site for kids, large field at back of site for a dog run, Loved the weekend and site, we will return.

Have just spent a week here and what a great site. Facilities are first class even though there is only two showers in the ladies and mens we never had to wait or queue and the site was full being a bank holiday. The people working there were very informative and helpful when required. The site is very central to a lot of places and great beaches all were dog friendly we found a great pub on the way to llestefan called Tafan Pantydderwen which served great food about a 20 min drive. We stayed in Gorse meadow which was great only 12 pitches and lovely spaced out. We will be returning next year

We booked for 4 nights but left after only one night here. It's in a quaint setting at the end of a lane by a river and the shower blocks while a bit outdated, are almost certainly the cleanest I've seen in nearly 35 years of camping. The owners too were very friendly and helpful and helped us set up, although we felt very let down by the way our complaint was dealt with by a staff member.
The downside is there is nothing within walking distance, not even a decent 'walk' and you need a car to get do any shopping or visit anywhere. Also, and this was the huge downfall, it is only 200 meters as the crow flies from the M4/A40 motorway, and the traffic noise is intolerable if you're in a tent. It was constant all night and is particularly bad because it's also near the junction of the motorway. Also the site is more suited to caravans rather than tents as there was a lot of tarmac.
I'm sure in a caravan you'll find this site fine because you can block out the noise, but in a tent, I really would avoid it.

We only stayed one night at this site but wished we could have stayed longer.
We were pitched on the lower adults only field which was fairly spacious and was backed by the very pretty river.
The toilet block was immaculate, however we were surprised that that there was only one block for the whole site.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful and were happy to go off in search of freshly laid eggs for our breakfast!
We shall certainly consider coming back next time we are in South Wales.

This is the third time that myself and my partner have used River View and hopefully there will be many times to come!
The site is immaculate and the toilet / shower blocks are some of the best we've ever used, always spotless just like the rest of the site.
The Manager and Manageress really can't do enough to help especially when choosing a pitch, we always take a hard standing pitch in the lower adults only field where it is very peaceful with just the sound of the river and birds to listen to.
We can't comment on the road noise in the upper sections mentioned in other reviews as we haven't used those pitches but there is certainly peace and quiet in the lower part of the site.
There is a good reception for freeview just using the van aerial and the satellite works fine as long as you pitch to the North West end of the site to avoid the trees in the lower field.
All in all this gem of a site is great value for money and perfect for using as a base to tour South West Wales!

The welcome by the Wardens was very friendly and helpful, our pitch was fantastic and the owners were also very friendly. The site facilities are the best we have seen.
The site was very convenient for us when we come to visit my mother from time to time, as it is a short drive away via the M4, therefore, it is ideal for us. As far as the site goes - it ticks all the boxes. Easy to get to, good facilities, lovely and friendly people, good views and walks.
We truly did enjoy our visit and the the extra bonus of lovely fresh eggs from the on site free range chickens. We'll be back.

A lovely campsite very peaceful and well maintained.
We were shown to our pitch upon arrival which was in the top field and was probably the furthest away from the the immaculate toilets and showers.
If you have young children I'd make sure you ask for a pitch nearer to the toilets. Hot water was in abundance and the site managers were very helpful.
On our last night there was some problem with the electric which seemed to be resolved after an hour or so.
All in all a very nice site in a great location for visiting West wales

The welcome to the site is friendly, Paul and his Wife are very helpful, but leave you to get on with your stay. We were in the adults field, at the lower end of the site. The pitchs are large, mostly hard standing.
The site is kept to a very high standard, a testament to the hard work of Paul and his wife. The toilet block can only be discribed as the best of the best spotless.
The site is well placed to visit the Pembrokeshire coast, the Gower and Brecon Beacons. Very quick access to the M4 and very easy tow in and out of the site.
As per previous reviews regarding road noise, this is noticeable in the upper fields but not intrusive. The lower field is extremely peaceful with the river and birds being the only sounds you hear, our idea of heaven. Small shop on site with most things, super markets 5 mins in all directions.
We will most definitely return.
