Return visit for couple of nights so we could complete a previous bike ride.
Stopped off at Frimley green to watch the cricket and have a coffee at the cafe, also stopped for beer at the Harvester.
After arriving Saturday lunchtime, popped over though the cafe for bite to eat.
We didn't use facilities other than the toilets, showers looked the same though, probably inadequate for the size of the camping field!
£18 a night for us with caravan.
Noticed that the nearest bar 'Potters' just outside entrance is due to re-open 2nd June.
We always use this site as a stop off to make our journey easier from Essex, gets M25 out of way.

We hired a bell tent within its own enclosure just off the main field for the weekend. The set up is great with a main tent, gazebo + camp kitchen unit in place. Like others in the bell tents, we had pitched a second tent in the enclosure to accommodate our larger group.
The area is lovely with plenty of space locally, a good café on site and plenty of activities close by. The trains do run through the night but are infrequent and were not a problem. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
The only area I would improve here are the bathrooms - one shower and one toilet for the ladies and same for the gents. Unfortunately, these are shared with the day visitors and were flooded and muddy on the Sunday morning which was off putting.
Overall, a good stay.

A wonderful location for a basic but very pleasant campsite!
Attentive and helpful staff for a site which is well situated for exploring either on foot or by car.
Large woods all around which were ideal for walking the dog.
Approx 40 minute walk along the canal to The Swan pub in nearby Ash Vale - well worth a visit for great food & drink.
We will certainly look to return to this campsite whenever in the area.

Have used this site many times, our stop over site for getting M25 out of way and travelling on to West country. £17 2 adults with caravan, chip shop around corner 5 min drive, café on site for breakfast, although it's not as good as it used to be.
Park up where you want, if you go along fence line where carpark is be prepared for dogs and noise from 8. 30am when all dog walkers come in.
Late sunshine to right of field as you enter, early sunshine to left of field, you'll be nearer to train line and canal this side.
Potters bar outside gates seems to be shut down permanently now.
Good location and plenty of space for kids to be kids.

Second visit to the canal center and as like last time great service and easy to keep safe with their covid measures in place.
This site is essentially a field with no EHU, and toilets and showers subject to covid restrictions.
Pitches had been laid out differently with adequate space between units to ensure the safety of everyone.
There is an on site cafe which does a range of food and drinks, all of excellent quality but closes in late afternoon rather than the evening.
We spent some time Kayaking on the canal, there are hire boats if you don't have your own. Fresh water and chemical waste are easily accessed.

With grandchildren a ten minute walk away, this is an
Ideal stopover for us, a large grass site that even with all May's rain still did not show much damage and our 4 tons made very little tracking getting out from the far end of the field. There are plenty of walks either in the woods or along the canal, a dog walkers paradise!
It's not the quietest of sites with a cacophony of bird song (especially at dawn), a very infrequent train rattling past, and gunfire from the ranges in the distance, but it does get its quieter moments.
For those that don't need ehu then it's well worth a visit at £17. Facilities were closed but there is a cafe on site, fresh water and an elsan unit for waste.
The staff were very helpful, and we will be returning for future visits.

This is a superb site right next to the Basingstoke Canal. Grass field with ample space to pitch up (no electric).
The children absolutely love it & spent the time running free outdoors.
There's a tea room, boat hire, a small play area for kids & a pub within walking distance.
There are restroom facilities but I have not used so cannot advise on this.
Would definitely recommend

Arrived on Friday evening, booking was easy and we arrived after the office was closed but no problems with access and just logged our arrival the following morning.
We met some family here for a days canoeing on the canal, had a great time.
The toilets were closed due to covid and we were made aware of this at the time of booking. Great access for launching your own canoe, or you can hire one from the site. There are no electric hookups but we managed fine without.
The pitches were marked out with white lines and you could choose your own pitch. Not may there when we were and the site was generally quiet. We did not notice any traffic noise form the nearby road, and there is a local garage in walking distance with a M&S food store.
There is also an on site cafe, I cant comment on it as we didn't make use of it. But we will be back again in the future.
The only improvements there could be is some electricity for stays longer than a weekend.

Large open field no designated pitches. Only 2 caravans and 2 tents when we arrived. Lots of space to choose from. Excellent dog walks all around the campsite and miles of canal to walk along.
Friendly welcome from staff in visitor centre. Pack with map of site and codes for toilets and shower. It is a bit of a trek from the campsite field to the toilets and showers though.
Good on site cafe reasonably priced. There is some road noise in the background and some aircraft noise but didn’t bother us. What did bother us was a caravan that arrived late on Friday night and pitched next to us (although masses of space to choose from) they then fired up the loudest generator I’ve ever heard! Not the campsites fault however it does state quiet generators are permitted.
Another negative is that dog walkers seem to think the camping field is a rite of passage for them to walk through although there is a large forest and canal walk for them to use! Regardless of the negatives this is a definite return campsite for us.
