Used again as stop over for onward journey to Dorset.
Facilities still need an update, shower room that has a 2 showers in, water still too hot, reported it.
Price now £20.50 for 2 adults with caravan.
Great location for walks and runs along canal.
Serves a purpose for us, late arrival, shower and cafe all make for a good stop off.

Such a lovely location in huge flattish field, brilliant for pitching large tents! Most pitch around the edge of the field as there are no marked pitches. So on our 2nd day we felt a bit hemmed in as no one pitches in the middle of the field!
The facilities aren't great; only 2 showers, one of which is in the ladies and so only one toilet in ladies. The other shower is for all campers. There is no shower in the mens toilets. They were very grubby and need updating really. As they are quite a step from the field, it would be better if new facilities could be built closer to the field or on the field then it would be perfect.
The site is unmanned between 5pm and 9am, which means in emergency they tell you to contact the police. In order to confirm your booking you need to tick to agree to terms and conditions, which cannot be enforced as there is no one there to do so. Therefore, it was noisy after 1030pm, the time stipulated for no music and quiet speaking. So I felt a bit annoyed about that.
There seemed to be a lot of local people staying over for one night as a social event, which is lovely but not if you are staying for longer.
So the pros are it's a beautiful location and they secure the site at night so there is no access other than to campers. The site is flatish and at night fairly dark, so you are able to see many stars!
The cons are expensive for what it is compared to other sites I have been too. The facilities desperately lack and the fact it is unmanned for so long is an issue for me. For locals methinks not holidays.

First the good bits:
The main camping field is spacious, flat and well maintained. We have a large (7m x 8m) tent and there was no problem with space. The location near the canal is beautiful and relaxing.
The café serves great food and turns into a Thai restaurant in the evening. We didn’t try it but other campers spoke well of it.
There are plenty of shops and takeaways within a short distance, yet the site feels rural and quiet at night. The price was good.
The bad bits:
The massive Achilles heel is the toilet and shower facilities. Firstly they are quite a trek from the campsite. You also have to walk past all the publicly accessible parts of the canal centre, which feels a bit weird if walking down in your pyjamas.
There is one female shower and one gender neutral / disabled shower, which was fine for a relatively quiet September weekend but I suspect would be inadequate during peak season.
The showers and toilets are in need of a revamp and a bit of TLC. There is only one washing up sink in the same block.
Overall, would we stay again? Unlikely unless they invest in the toilet and shower facilities. If you can put up with those, it’s a lovely place to stay.

What a gem! We needed somewhere close to the British Motor Show for 2 nights and this place was perfect. Not overly busy, lots of space and the lovely canal for an evening stroll.
Toilet and shower facilities for those who need them (we didn’t) a small playground (again, not something we needed) a cafe and information centre.
Several people were out on kayaks or paddle boards, a nice, low-key site in the middle of everything but away from the crowds.
Would definitely come back :)

Ideal as stop over en route to Malmesbury.
Booked over phone on day with no problem.
Walked a good 35/40 mins along the canal to The Swan pub for dinner, food fine, sat in garden.
Shower and toilet block in much need of a makeover, very tired.
Water in shower room with 2 showers, too hot as normal.
On site cafe did a good breakfast.
2 adults + caravan £19. 50 pn

Grand parents travelling with Grandchildren.
Enjoyed the big open field for the children and dog.
Close to toilets and showers which seemed adequate at this time of the week (Monday) but imagine it is busy at other times with limited numbers of both.
Nice setting, park good for the children and cafe offers quite a good range of products.
Staff friendly and facilities clean.

A gem of a site which is a large enclosed field with trees on three sides.
Very little shade in extreme heat for the unit but you can sit in the shade which is lovely.
Showers and toilets available with access codes so nice and clean.
Great walks from the site.

Lovely location with things to do but not enough facilities showers and toilets for the size of the sight.
Electric hook ups would be nice for keeping things like food cold in electric cooler box’s.
Blowing up mattresses etc.
The campsite is lovely and clean.
