We have just returned from a week here and it was lovely!
Ok firstly the good;
Its very reasonably priced, the staff are friendly and helpful,
There is a small cafe on site selling teas, ice cream and full meals all reasonably priced,
It is very pretty and is a lovely big flat field on which you can pitch wherever you like, its securely locked after around 4pm (canpers have a key to get in and out),
It's close to town and has some lovely walks along the canal with plenty of wildlife, a lovely park for kids with wooden obstacle course, swings etc
Ok the not so good!
There are plenty of bugs being so close to water!
The right hand side of the field gets the sun pm and the left am,
We chose to pitch on the left as the tent would be cooler in the evening, the down side to this is the train line which runs the other side of the canal (I wouldn't think you would hear it so much the other side of the field)
As someone mentioned you do get some road noise but it never bothered us nor did the planes that fly over every so often, they really arent that troublesome
All of the above said we had a 6mth old baby on her first trip (as well as a 5yr old and a 9yr old) and none of them woke them so it really isnt bad!
The showers and toilets leave a bit to be desired but there are preliminary plans on the wall for new ones which look a lot better and will be on the camping field as opposed to part of the visitors centre,
It is a little bit of a walk especially from the far end of the field but just made sure the kids went last thing before bed and it was fine
There is one shower room with two showers in(ideal for families) and a shower in the ladies (all men have to use the large shower room), also a single toilet in mens and ladies and a disabled one,
One pot washing sink ( hot water was a bit hit and miss with sink but always hot in showers!), but never had to wait too long for any of the above even though they were quite full,
All in all a lovely cheap family site

This site is a hidden gem if you do not mind basic facilities and no EHU. We were there midweek and amongst only 4 units in a big field. No sign of any car boot sales. Toilets are shared with the visitor centre, and limited, so best if you can rely on your own facilities. Planes and trains nearby, but you hardly notice them. Basic shop at garage 5 minutes walk, also bus stop there - you can get to Aldershot, Frimley or Woking.
Only problem is the limited opening hours - staff all go home at 4.45, but they sounded very helpful about late arrivals or early departures. If it were developed, say by letting it out to one of the clubs who would put in electricity, bigger toilets etc, it could be well filled all summer - but they would charge a lot more than £9 a night!

This site has everything, trains & boats & planes plus a little early morning machine gun fire just for good measure.
1. Trains, just on the other side of the canal but we did not really notice them as they are really quiet nowadays.
2. Boats, boat trips, Pedalos, canoes’ and rowing boats are available for hire. The staff are really friendly.
3. Planes, landing at nearby Farnborough airport pass the end of the site, but too few to mention.
4. Gunfire, was in the distance but because the site was so quite it was just noticeable.
We visited this site hoping to go to the boot sale on site, only to find that it now happens on a Wednesday till further notice ( something to do with accesses.)
The toilets and showers are basic, the ones in the visitor centre are better but only available during the day.
There is a shop in the garage approx 400 mtr, open 24/7 over the canal/railway Bridge and turn left at the roundabout.
Pubs. One straight across the road from the site and another approx 1 mile along the tow path to the right towards deep cut, at the first bridge is a harvester with a garden.
The site is large and level attached to the visitor centre, there is a café and child’s play area.
Turn right along the towpath approx ½ mile there is Frimley Lodge park which has miniature train rides for the children.
We had a nice time here and would visit there again.

Lovely large field, stayed in March and were the only unit on site! Next to canal. Had small cafe and play area, nice canal walks; Nature walks set up by canal centre; very friendly staff; one down side, only one toilet/shower block with one each of gents and ladies, which is shared by canal boat users and people visiting the canal centre. So think this could be quite an issue if there were several camping units on site as well - although they have applied for planning permission for new toilet and shower block. I would highly recommend this site.

Stayed here when we were spending a couple of days at thorpe park. The one nearest to t/p seemed expensive as we were to be out all day, this one, I thought might be just a bit too far, but its dual carriageway most of the way, so not a problem. When I saw the pics of this site and the good reviews, felt I'd made the right choice.
Very reasonable rates, excellent staff, great site with lots to do. Gates are locked at 4 I seem to recall, but all visitors have a key for late return, etc. Lovely canalside setting with many people launching their dinghies and canoes, visitor centre, cafe and childs play area forms the core, at which there is also the well kept toilets and showers. When we were there it was pretty quiet so would imagine if its busy, they could probably do with more showers. No ehu, taps and pump out are available.
Beautiful surroundings, wished we'd had more time to explore the area, would definitely recommend and will go back sometime, never heard any trains or planes. The pub across the road from site seemed ok, v good beer, with canalside outside seating, didn't eat there, was too tired after days out at thorpe park, great staff, even put the simpsons on for me!. Garage down rd from pub for newspaper and basics. Don't think there was a shop on site, so fill the fridge before you arrive.

My first impressions of the site were quite poor. It is on the flight path to Farnborough Airfield so there seem to be loads of small jets landing in the early evening. Although it is next to the Canal, the railway runs along the canal at this point so you also get train noise.
The toilets are quite basic and a fair way from the pitches.
However, once we started using the site in earnest on the second morning it really comes into its own. It is really easy to launch a small boat on site and the centre is well equipped. The playpark is well designed, the Cafe is reasonably priced and there is a boat hire area.
They have lots of nice touches in the welcome pack like a site map and leaflet explaining the local area.
We were there while a car boot sale was on and despite all the warnings from the staff when I booked we had a reasonably large pitch and the car boot sale did not affect us at all. However, if you like a lot of space, come when there is no car boot as the large camping field is massive and almost empty.
The jets and the trains stop early enough not to affect your sleep and don't give you early morning wake up calls.
In short a great place to stay if you're looking for a chance to mess about on the water.

Again used this on a Thursday as a stop over to Dorset for the week, however this time we returned on the following Friday for a 2 night stay, that way we could finally explore the area a bit.
Facilities haven't changed at all, although a sign says the toilets are undergoing refurbishment! Cafe still fine for a breakfast or lunch.
We had the bikes so had a ride along the towpaths, over the swing bridge and right brings you to a Harvester chain at Frimley green, over the swing bridge and left brings you to The Swan pub on the canal side, looked a bit dark and dingy inside, as weather nice we sat outside.
Good value for money, you can choose anywhere to camp, no electric supplied so don't forget a torch as can be a bit of a hike to the toilets.

I am on a long term booking at this site, although you cant book more that 10 days running.
Lovely peaceful site but there are some issues.
The reception is usually closed ( even when its open!) so you have to knock on the window to get let in.
They close the office at 4. 30ish so that's a pain, but they will leave pass keys etc in a letterbox for you- but you have to remind them!
The canoeists don't seem to like the campers and are a bit territorial about 'their area'
The site seems to have lots of caravan rallies and boot fairs at the weekend. So if you are staying over the weekend make sure you are pitched in the right area, I had some very dirty looks from some caravanners on Thursday night as I was leaving on Friday morning, as I was in an area allocated for them from Saturday!
They now have a washing up sink which is great!
The showers are nice and hot but limited to two for the men( in a shared cubicle) and one for the ladies.
Finally be prepared to be woken up in the middle of the night by the soldiers of deepcut doing manoeuvres in the woods- I kid you not! Machine gun fire the lot!
A great site to stay at especially if you like cycling or canoeing

We camped here last summer for 1 night and we were happy so went back this year for a few nights
We live very close to this site which is really handy. Feels as if we are away but not spent hours getting here.
Lovely flat grass field with canal and railway line one side Kids run free which is nice to see.
1 Toilet and 1 shower in the ladies. 2 further showers for couples / family, cant comment on mens. Had my shower in the evenings and always hot water. Can be a long walk from the tent so bear in mind when pitching
No night lights on the field which was nice but did need torch for late night toilet stops. Toilets did run out of toilet paper put I was prepared luckily
Great play area for kids. Great cafe on site for breakfast/lunch and ice creams.
Lovely walk along the canal (over canal turn right) which takes you up to Frimley Lodge Park. More play things for kids (although one is currently being refurbed so shut)and another cafe good food at cheap prices
Can also do boat trips from here
Does have a car boot occasionally so check when you book
Will come back again

Again we used this site as a stop off on our way down to Dorset for the early May bank holiday weekend, this time arriving earlier and in daylight, picked a similar spot as last time on the right of the field as you drive in, mainly as this is away from the canal in case of mozzies.
Nothing changed from last year, still one shower in the ladies with a toilet and a double shower on its own, ok if a couple or with children, plus the mens toilets that doesn't have a shower.
We visited the pub / restaurant Potters' across the road from the site entrance for a drink on the evening, it is a huge place that we thought had no atmosphere, the restaurant looked very pricey, we never ate here so can't comment on the food but very handy for a local drink.
In the morning we had breakfast at the on site cafe which is very good with reasonable prices, had a short walk around the site and along the canal before continuing our journey.
Will be using again in August for the same reason, think we have found a little gem here to break the long journey down to the west country, if only it had EHU for those little luxuries but then it wouldn't be as cheap.
