Its true this is a great location, just by the canal with a good cafe and kids play area plus big open field to keep active.
This is the second time we've stayed and still no hot water in the showers. The other campers are a good, mixed bunch but beware the administration office here, not so relaxed nor friendly.
Still, the canal is lovely, the boat trips are fun and we may be back for another visit once this summers trip fades from our memories.

I live literally just round the corner from this site and enquired about erecting my recently purchased tent on their grounds, to practice. What can I say they were very friendly and very accommodating. They did not want a full nights pitch fee but a small donation, which was very acceptable.
The facilities there are basic but very clean. During the right season there are canal trips which I have been told are excellent, or if you prefer you can hire one of the barges out for the day. There is a childs playground which is well equipped for the size of the site. There is loads of dog walking tracks to occupy even the most energetic dogs.
There are 3 restaurants locally. Potters which is opposite the entrance, which servers good food. However if you want that something a little bit better walk along the canal (With the centre behind you walk to the left under the near-by bridge) for about 1 mile and you will get to The White Swan. Or if you want to goto a tried and tested restaurant there is a Harvester within the same distance walk in the opposite direction. Just leave the towpath at the first brick built bridge and its directly opposite you.
There is not a lot more to be said apart from its a great little site with a warm and friendly welcome. If I didn't live so close it would be a site I would frequent often.

First time at this site, used it as a stop-over for an onward journey to Dorset, coming from the Dartford tunnel area this meant that we could get the M25 out of the way on the Thursday.
The site was easy to find in the dark, we got there about 9.45pm, accessed by a barrier with a key that was left in secure place for us.
Sited the caravan, visited the toilet/wash block and to bed.
Wow what a lovely view in the morning, a very large field, no marked pitches just pick your place.
The toilet and shower block basic, 1 shower in the ladies toilets and a large 2 showered room(which is fine for parent and child or couples).
No electric on field. Site has the canal running through it and boat rides available 45mins £2.50
Brilliant on site cafe, 2 scrambled egg on 2 toast £2.20 and very large portion. Full cooked breakfast 2 of everything £4.90.
After breakfast and shower back on road to M3, easy to find and only up the road.
Will definitely use this site again as a stop-over and maybe even spend a few days at sometime in the future, a real bargain at £9 for caravan and 2 adults. Very laid back relaxed site.

We ended up here after our usual campsite was full (it was the last wk end after half term).
It is a lovely site, very pretty with great access to the canal and forest - excellent for dog walking.
There was also the most amazing pub about 3 miles along the tow path which served some of the best pub food I've ever tasted - the White Swan I think.
There is also a great car boot sale 5mins away on a sat morning :)
As already mentioned you have to be there by 4.30 (when the gates closed and staff go home) but due to terrible traffic I missed this by 20mins! I was still able to access the field but I had to walk carrying gear by hand - not too far a walk but a pain all the same.
The site was surprisingly empty with plenty of room to pitch - wherever you like - and it was pretty tranquil. The only noises were the occasional train and road noise - again not enough to bother us.
The toilets were part of the canal centre and pretty basic and at times unclean. Also no washing up facilities which was annoying - we filled our bucket with warm water and then did it b the field tap.
Very affordable, worthwhile site within an hour of London - I would definitely recommend to others :)

We had a great time, there is plenty for the kids to do,
There is no electric here and the toilet and shower block could do with a bit of updating and there could also be another elsan point nearer the camping section, but for the cost of the site compared to other sites in the south it was well worth a visit and a really nice break.
There is a pub on the other side of the road which does some nice food and there is a forest behind with plenty of cycle tracks and walks to do.

Idyllic location, absolutely stunning. I cant remember the last time I felt so at ease. No hassle, no one to bother you, just the odd plane and canal boat and train passes by. It really is just beautiful. Someone said earlier that its just a rough old field, well its a bit more than that that's for sure. Its got an amazing park for the kids, its just really really nice.
One or two issues, you cant just turn up you need to book in advance or maybe they might let you pay on the day but only between about 9 and 4 so if you are outside of that you`re stuffed and cant get in or out. Also if you are male there is 1 shower and that's it, fine if your there all day but on the morning you go you wanna make sure your in it for 6am or you wont be having one. Grossly short of showers.
You really do get left alone and a warden comes round once every morning at 10 but that's it oh apart from the canoe people that think they own the place.
One other thing is there is no electric here and no chance of getting a motorhome / caravan anywhere near the water points except the one by the canoe hut and then they moan at you I think I think they own the place again ;-)
Seriously it is just the nicest relaxing place you could go to. A little gem.

Just enjoyed a fairly dry week here. Beautiful setting. Facilities sparce only two showers and not many more loos. I have to say they were very clean. No shop but village can be reached by tow pathan five mins by car. Pub opposite entrance and another one is reachable by tow path. If camping over Friday night you have to use small fenced off section as carboot is on main field Saturday. Would stay again very reasonable rates. Very good childrens play area

Never actually stayed here but seeing as I live round the corner(ish) I figured I'd drop a few words on it. Everything said so far is spot on one thing to note, make sure your kids are water wise as if you are on the canal side of the field you are on the side without a towpath and they could get carried away when playing in the trees.
If you cross over the canal from the site and go right you come to Frimley lodge park through the trees, it is seasonal but there is a little miniature railway a cafe and a great play area for the kids and large open playing fields that's when there is a cricket match on are a great place to chill out for a few hours.
This is a great place to base yourself if you fancy visiting the area for the Farnborough Airshow. If you do, don't drive into the show itself it is a nightmare instead drive to north camp train station park there and catch the free bus into the show ( much easier ) it is also a good place to visit the July Army Show in Aldershot ( not a patch on those of the 1970s and earlier but still a great day out ( take your own food though )).
There are a few places about that are pretty easy to get to like Thorpe park, Legoland, Birdworld, Chessington. Farnborough or Aldershot train stations will take you straight into London and there is plenty of parking at the stations. There are not many site in this part of the land so this is a good little place.

Having stayed in various camp sites over Europe have found this one to be by far the most welcoming. Although the facilities may be considered somewhat basic by some, they are kept very clean and the whole site is well maintained. The site is close to the Canal which has some of the loveliest walks and cycle rides in Hampshire and Surrey. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful and make staying there a very relaxing and pleasant experience.

Campsite right next to Basingstoke canal, reasonable price. Beautiful area with a forest to walk in, take your hiking boots or comfortable footwear. Campsite was very hard and quite difficult to pitch your tent. There was a shower block with toilets and a small visitors centre which is open Wednesday to Sunday. Childrens play area next to visitor centre. Local pub is about 5 mins away, very welcoming. Unfortunatly there was no shop where you could buy milk, bread and other things and no washing up facilities. Great area to explore either on foot or bicycle. Would visit again with the children.
