Really nice small site
A field on the edge of the farm
Lovely peaceful setting
Colin & his dad (good luck with the treatment) are lovely
It is a fair walk to the showers / toilets, but they are adequate and kept clean
Other than that, and its not really an issue, this is a great site
Plus its great value for money
The pub at the top of the road is dog friendly and very welcoming, which adds to the appeal

Lovely little campsite with no fancy facilities which we never use. Loos/ showers always kept clean.
Felt welcomed by Colin on arrival even though he looked very busy with the farm. Eggs also fab

Decided to join family for a weekend at this site. At the time we weren't CCC members but have now decided to join after this stay.
The site is a small field on a slight slope with toilet blocks round the corner in one of the farm buildings.
The toilets and showers were small and basic but always clean.
The owners of the site are very friendly and lent us a cable to extend our electricity lead as it wasn't long enough. They were always available for a chat when we wandered round.
The cows came to the corner of the adjacent field in a morning and were sometimes a little noisy but our son enjoyed watching them. There is also a little stream on the lane with a rope swing which my son enjoyed paddling in.
The site is on a road but there is so little traffic, you could probably count the numbers of cars on both hands that went past over the course of the weekend.
Unfortunately some inconsiderate campers that had 3 dogs let them roam free and left all their mess on the field when they left, luckily another kind camper picked it up after them and informed us to keep an eye out when we got back as our son was running round the field.
The field itself was perfect to let our toddler run around as it is small and fully enclosed.
Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

This site is perfect if you want a quiet few days away, it sits on the estuary, in fact the road not far away from the site floods when the tide is in. The owners were relaxed, friendly and helpful, and extremely accommodating when our extended family decided to join us for the last two days of our stay making sure we were next to each other and lending electric cables.
They even offered to pick us up late at night from a wedding we were attending nearby. The fees are a bargain at £10 per night, having said that it is a certificated site, basically a small triangular field on a slight slope, it can be exposed at times, tents and awnings need to be well pegged out.
The facilities are basic, it's a short walk to the toilets which are in one of the farm buildings, I didn't try the showers as we used our van shower, take footwear for the farmyard which can be muddy.
There's a small stream nearby for the children to play in with a rope swing, our children enjoyed watching the cows coming in for milking too. Not far from a beach, the views are fantastic. We had a day trip on the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway, £15. 50 per adult plus £4 to park, well worth it with lots of walks around Eskdale - take a towel if it's warm weather as there's a river there which is tempting.
Fairly remote and it's a good distance to travel anywhere, the nearest supermarket is in Millom and it's a small supermarket. The only thing which spoiled our stay was a family with several dogs who didn't clear up after them.
We'd definitely return if we were visiting the area again. Millom parkrun is 20 minutes away for a Saturday morning.

Once again Lola and myself had an amazing two weeks here. This is our fifth year returning and will do so for many more. The hospitality shown by a very busy family (it is a working farm) is always second to none. Colin and his Dad Bill are always there for a chat and advise on local events. Alison (Colin's wife) on the bank holiday weekend makes the most amazing meat pies/cakes to raise funds for the local church. We could live on these!
It is a really well kept site with all you need for a relaxing stay. If you want a swimming pool, club house and arcades this is not for you. If you want a tranquil site with Scafell as a backdrop then this is my #1 choice. Lee

Just left this little Gem this morning after a 5 night stay. We have stayed here quite a few times, that many I cant remember. Colin is a lovely man and very helpful. He always makes us feel welcome. He lent us a cable has ours wasn't long enough.
The field itself is well drained ( although in this heat that doesn't matter) with a gentle slope.
It is a short walk round the corner to the toilets/showers, but beautiful scenery along a farm lane, which Colin keeps very clean, so fine wearing flip flops ! Its 20p for 3 mins in the shower, which are kept clean, although I think we have Colins wife to thank for that one ! There is even a hairdrier which I think is 20p as well, I havent used that.
The scenery is beautiful and the sunsets are to die for. If you like peace and quiet with the odd chat with Colin and his Dad, also a lovely man, plus the visiting cows on the other side of the fence then you will love it here.
There is a pub a short drive away that does meals but we still haven't been in so cant give a verdict but a fellow comper said it was lovely. We will be back again soon

Squeezed between the Lake District and the coast, the site is a triangular field next to the farmyard that is just big enough for five units. Not a manicured site but a farm field with EHU (you may want a long lead but the owner has some spares), water and CDP, overlooking the tidal Esk estuary and with splendid views of the hills (when not clouded).
The nearby railway line carries only occasional trains between breakfast and bed time and the shooting range only tests artillery, so just an occasional 'wump' on weekday mornings.
The owners are friendly and helpful and the site has easy access to coastal, lake and hill attractions. Bacon, sausages and other meat from the village butcher are worth the trip on their own and the shop is a nostalgic delight - just like I used to visit with my mother in the 1950's! We did not use the shower or toilet by the farmhouse, but others on site seemed to have no problem with them.

Return visit to this wonderful site. Nothing has changed, still friendly warm welcome from Colin, Alison and dad. Bess still grinning if a little long in tooth. Facilities as were. Still my favourite site in UK, so peaceful and relaxed/ing will be back again soon.
Tescos in Millom ok but its not a big store, need Whitehaven for that. Nice walk around the waterfront area of Whitehaven. Lovely, deserted beach at Haverigg. Great for the dogs!
Husband and son did Go Ape at Grisedale and said it was an enjoyable course.
Oh and there's a new pup, Nellie, who is adorable!
