A pleasant site.
It's actually a choice of two quiet fields on either side of the quiet road. You will definitely need levelling ramps.
Great views from site with plenty of options for good walks or cycling.
The showers / toilets are in a building attached to the farmhouse. They are rustic but kept clean. Showers are 20p for around 3 minutes.
Farmer and wife were friendly and happy to chat.
Pub and shop around 20 minutes from site but can't comment as didn't use either.
We paid £20 / night with EHU.

A lovely farm site - quiet and peaceful, camping as it used to be.
NB: it is a C&CC members' site.
We stayed on the smaller field facing down the estuary fantastic views.
Basic rustic facilities - loos and showers (20p meter) in a converted farm building accessed through the farmyard.
Water for drinking and separate for emptying and cleaning loo cassettes etc in the smaller field.
Peace & quiet a lovely site which we'll be going back to.
Owners gave us a friendly welcome and love to stop and have a chat about the local area and thing to do.
Great place for a quiet getaway. 20 mins walk to pub which does food. Small butchers/grocer shop in the village a mile away Mon-Fri only.
Lots of lovely walks from the site, close to attractions such as Ravenglass & Eskdale railway, Wasdale, Scafell mountains, Muncaster castle. Nice beaches nearby. One thing to note your sat nav takes you down a lane which has a sign up saying road closed, ignore this and keep following the lane for about a mile & half until you see the signs for the CCC site on the farm gates.

A lovely farm site - quiet and peaceful, camping as it used to be.
NB: it is a C&CC members' site.
Two fields with fab views up toward the mountains or down the estuary.
Basic facilities - loos and showers (20p meter) in a converted farm building accessed through the farmyard.
Water for drinking and separate for emptying and cleaning loo cassettes etc in the smaller field.
Farm noises and smells as you would expect but did not detract from a lovely site which we'll be going back to.
New owners have been there about 12 months and we got a friendly welcome from them and their family. We actually turned up at 8. 30pm without a booking, so on advice from a local we pitched and caught up with them the next morning to pay as they were busy out on the farm during the evening.

This has to be one of the most peaceful spots to stay. We were the only campers here on the 2nd night.
Views of Scarfell Pike and the mountains.
This is a farmers field with electric, water, black waste.
The toilet/shower facilities are across the lane in a farm building and are rustic.
Anything more would spoil its charm.

Nice little site with lovely views.
Quite a narrow road down to the site but accessible driving slowly.
Didn’t use the showers or toilets as we used our own.
Colin the campsite manager was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble
Will definitely be going again

This is a very basic site in a beautiful setting with views all around, ideal for a few relaxing days.
No actual marked pitches and you need a long cable to reach up to the flatter part of the field.
The toilets and showers could do with updating, being in a barn-like building across the road and you need to collect 20p pieces for the showers.
Colin was helpful and very chatty and hopefully will stay on to manage the site when the new owners take over.

Lovely owner Colin who made us very welcome.

The kind of site we like CS site small and inexpensive. Amazing views of scafell and the train crossing the estuary. Rained heavy one night but ground fine.
Owner very friendly but alas he’s sold the farm. New owner has plans to build a new toilet block as old one is in the farmyard. So expect price rises.
Had a meal in The Brown Cow down the lane. It was lovely everything cooked from scratch. Own cooked ham.
We caught the train from Bootle to Westhaven. Had a pleasant afternoon there. Hope to visit again soon.
The only reason I haven’t given full marks for location is it’s a bit out of the way but that didn’t bother us. I’ve given full marks for child friendly as it’s just a field but with fresh air and freedom and beeches not far away
