This was our second trip to this fantastic 'DOG FRIENDLY' site. Following an earlier scouting trip we returned for a small gathering of volunteers and their dogs from a german shepherd rescue.
From arrival to departure- nothing is too much trouble for the site owners. The site does NOT have clubhouse/pub and arcade (thankfully)- this is a place offering the best that quiet camping has to offer.
Facilities are maintained to a very high level. The washup cabin offers everything you would you need including fridges/freezers : microwave:kettle:toaster :washer and dryer.
The toilet block is kept to a spotless standard with free push button showers - ample hot water.
Pitches are of a good size and level - all with EHU access if required.
There is an enclosed kids play area and separate small dog exercise area. For the wet weather there is entertainment for both kids and adult - sauna for mum and dad / games room for kids with tv and reading available.
The surrounding area boasts numerous beeches to visit (some are not dog friendly May to September- check with site owners). The beech quality is very good -Poppit was a favourite of ours with good parking /toilets café and RNLI.
There are also a number of nature areas to visit( a bit of a drive to some but well worth the trip). Nant y Arian is a great place to see the resident red kites (feeding time is a must).
There are numerous local shops for local jams or meats. Although Tesco/Aldi are not far away.
Sarnau boasts a very good 'man' shop - ex army surplus. Very good for camping spares and extras.
Already planning 2016 trips back.
The only negative is one the site owners have no control over - the great British weather. Lol.

We stayed for 3 nights camping with our retro lichfield 4 berth frame tent. The pitches are grass or hardstanding on very level ground and EHU accessible. The showers were spotlessly clean and roomy but no cost. FREE! so very cost effective. The kitchen was super, kettle microwave toaster and fridge freezer etc.
The site itself was very well kept and landscaped with a very nice kids playground an dog walking area.
We visited Tresaith beach (1 mile) and found the most amazing waterfall at one end. The beach was LUSH. Sandy with rockpools at either end super for families and dogs allowed. Poppit sands and Aberporth beaches are dog friendly too.
Tesco superstore and Aldi's 9 mile away near Cardigan though a super farm shop a minute away. Or going north, New Quay offers super beach/harbour and shopping.
We will be back to visit again.

This is a lovely quiet site mostly grass but there are some hard-standing pitches.
There is an electric hookup for most, if not all, pitches. The shower and toilet block is superb - free showers and the place is so clean.
It was very windy when I was there but the trees on the next plot of land provided some shelter from it.
The owners welcome well-behaved dogs and there is a little secure field for them. There is also a small (dog-free) playground for children.
As the site is just off the main Aberystwyth-Cardigan road it is easy to get to anywhere in south-west Wales. There are some wonderful beaches, mostly dog-friendly, and plenty of walks especially the Wales Coastal Path. The Ceredigion Council provides many toilet blocks all over the county which are clean and well-maintained.
There is wi-fi on the site but at £3 per day I didn't bother with it. Phone signals for O2 and EE are good.

Just come back from 3 nights at Bronawelon and what a glorious 3 days they were.
Site is wonderful and in a beautiful area.
Pitches are well laid out with plenty of room, and ours even had it's own hook-up and water tap, as so many of the other hard standings.
Toilet and showers are the cleanest and neatest ones we have ever seen. Plenty of free hot water and no timing to worry about.
Small campers kitchen and washing and drying machines available which were as neat and tidy as the toilets.
Small children's playground on site but thankfully NO ball games allowed.
Plenty to do in the area, from beaches to castles. Excellent chip shop in New Quay and we had an really good meal at the pub in Llangranog.
Heartily recommended!

We booked 8 nights. What a fantastic site. The owners cannot do enough for you. Half way through putting our tent up it ripped. Liz got us details for Go Outdoors in Swansea and we had a 2 ½ hour round trip to replace it. That’s the only downside to the area; it’s not near to big stores, so come prepared for any mishaps. Also, if you run out of gas, make sure you get Paul to check which size cans he keeps in stock before driving the countryside for an hour searching for a shop that’s open and stocks gas! Thank you Paul for ensuring that dinner didn't end up in the bin!
The site is clean and spacious, and the facilities are second to none. The showers always had hot water and along with the toilets, were spotlessly clean. Also the camper’s kitchen is a godsend if you don’t come with hook up. The kitchen is fitted with microwave, kettle, fridge, freezer and even a table and chairs. Even though we camp with everything but the kitchen sink, we found it very useful; especially on the last day to have a cuppa and a sit down before driving home; We decided to pack up a day early because of the weather due the following day.
There is a small TV/games room for the children, and a small enclosed area for dogs to toilet off lead; this may be small but is such a good feature of the site. If you have a dog as we do, we found that the best beach was the nearest to the site called Aberporth. It’s a lovely sandy beach, and we found the charity car park easy to park in. Also, another lovely town to visit is Aberaeron; it’s good for crabbing when the tide is right, and has some nice little shops and places to eat. St David’s is also worth a visit.
We will definitely return to this site as we cannot fault anything about it. Thanks for a lovely (albeit eventful) camping experience.

We stayed at this site a number of times between 2011 and 2014, as a couple and with our teenage kids and the dog.
The site has a useful dog exercise area.
The bay at Llangradog is the perfect place to spend time, facilities include a cafe, shops, surf equipment, fast food and pubs. The cream and jam scones at the cafe and the ice creams were delicious!
The showers at this site are first class, we always had plenty of hot water and like the large airy cubicles which are always immaculately clean.
The site is the perfect base for peace and relaxation but withing easy driving distance of the beaches.
Newquay is very picturesque with a lovely harbour, we enjoyed a pub lunch and spotted some dolphins playing in the bay on our first visit, we keep returning to sit on the sea front and stare out into the sea and spot them again!
We also like the local boat trips along the coast and there are many birds to see.
The site is very well run and organised and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in the area as this site suits our every requirement perfectly.
The delightful owners were also very helpful. Nothing we asked of then seemed any trouble at all.
Access from the main road to the site is easy.
We look forward to staying at this site again and visiting the beaches with the dog again soon.

We stayed here for 8 days with our 9 year old God-daughter and our 2 year old Labrador. We have been going camping for years and stayed in some really nice sites but this one exceeded all expectations. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner and shown to our pitch.
Whilst putting our tent up we discovered a piece was missing! If it wasn't for the owner we would have been in quite a pickle as this piece was an integral part of our new tent. Paul disappeared and returned with a makeshift piece exactly the same as the one we needed, I thanked him there and then but would like to say not only thank you again but I don't know what we would have done without him.
The site itself is lovely and the facilities are modern and kept spotlessly clean, I'm picky about cleanliness but even I couldn't have done a better job! The little park on site was great for kids and was located in a place where they could always be supervised. The dog exercise area does exactly what it says on the tin ' perfect for last toilet trips at night and first toilet trips in the morning'.
The campers kitchen came in handy for use of the fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and kettle. The reception contained lots of informative info on attractions in the local area. The pitches are well sized and carefully spaced out.
I really can't recommend this site enough. Visit and you will not be anything else but chuffed! Thanks to the owners, we'll see you again. Alan, Fiona, Mia and Bobby (p. S Bobby is sorry for always jumping up and trying to kiss you both)

We’ve just returned from spending 11 nights staying at Brynawelon and what an absolute gem of a site.
Warmly welcomed by Paul who showed us where everything was and then taken to the field with All Weather Pitches (AWP). We chose a pitch in the bottom corner against the hedges. It is next to the road but, to be honest, we got used to the sound of tractors and the sound of the sheep in the field opposite. There’s an electric pylon in the corner but never heard any humming.
As campers we always take an interest in the facilities on-site and have to say, at Brynawelon they’re top notch. Toilets and showers are modern and spotlessly clean. We particularly liked the two cubicles with showers which were, in effect, like having facilities all to oneself. Each has a sink, a shower cubicle and toilet. Indeed, given the site was quiet during our stay, we had them all to ourselves every morning. Marvellous.
The utility room is probably the most comprehensive we’ve come across. Three sinks, one larder fridge, one larder freezer and one fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, small oven, microwave, iron and ironing board. All free of charge. What a joy for campers. There are also washing and dryer facilities at a reasonable charge. Last but not least, a free to use clothes spinner; a boon for soaked walking gear or towels.
Co-owner was also really nice. Always interested in how we’re enjoying the stay and what we’d been up to. We really enjoyed our chats.
The site is five minutes’ drive to the A487 at Sarnau. Turning right there’s a well-stocked Londis store in Brynhoffnant. Turn left and there’s a farm shop outside of Sarnau and each petrol station on the way to Cardigan has a mini-mart attached. There’s a Tesco and Aldi on the outskirts of Cardigan and a Co-op in Cardigan itself. Note that the cheapest fuel prices we saw en-route to Cardigan were two filling stations at Penparc. Both were 3p per diesel litre cheaper than Tesco in Cardigan.
We could have stayed on and on quite happily at Brynawelon but unfortunately, holidays do have to come to an end. We both take away very fond memories of Brynawelon as we enjoyed our stay immensely. The site is a credit to both the owners. Thanks both.

Having already stayed at this site twice before, we were due to go camping over Easter with a group of friends and suggested this site because we had already had two excellent holidays here.
Overall, the site is very impressive. The ground is level and there are all weather pitches available with an ample supply of electric hook up's. The toilet blocks are clean, well equipped, and very nicely maintained. And the showers are free! Plus there is also a separate large disabled/family toilet/shower room, also maintained to the same high standards.
The dishwashing area is housed within a really well equipped log cabin, so no standing out in cold draughts to do the dreaded washing up. Two sinks, both with plenty of running hot water, a microwave, two kettles, a toaster, a mini oven, fridge and freezer are all available for use free of charge, plus there is a washing machine and tumble dryer (pay per use) and also a spin dryer.
The list of facilities goes on. An outdoor play area which all of the kids on the site seem to love (our own daughter included), and for when the typical British weather kicks in, there is also an indoor playroom with a TV, books etc. And for the grown up's, there is even a sauna on site.
The owners are really friendly and always happy to help. This is a family run site and it is totally obvious that they care greatly about giving holiday makers the best experience possible. Nothing is too much trouble. The reception area has a good array of leaflets promoting local attractions and giving some really good ideas of places to visit during your stay.
There are plenty of lovely beaches and towns to visit, all only a short drive away. There's a local store a couple of miles up the road, and a large Tesco about 9 miles away, so all really convenient.
All of this and very reasonably priced too. Roll on the summer and our next visit to this great site. Top marks all round from us.
