This is a lovely clean and quiet site. The facilities are excellent lots of little extras such as toaster, microwave and iron, and no charge except for the washing machine and tumble dryer. The owners are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers are immaculate only one little minus side personally for me and that is I would have liked a plug in the toilet block for hair appliances. If you want a site that is small and friendly in a pretty part of Wales close to beaches then this is the site for you. We would go back.

I stayed on this site with my brother for 3 days, and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The pitch we were on was hard standing, with electric, and running water. The site owners were friendly and welcomed us on the site right away, and showed us to the pitch. The loo block was new for 2007, and was cleaned thoroughly everyday, and despite heavy usage (the site was busy) coped well, and we didn't have any problem with getting a shower. Only minor gripe was that just in front of the pitch was a bit wet / muddy from some of the rain experienced before we got there - and I spun a bit whilst reversing the caravan when we arrived, however this soon dried up and certainly wasn't a problem for our stay. Some people may be interested to know the site has a park for kids, and a dog area, as well as a new sauna! We didn't use these areas but they all looked good and well kept. The site is about 9 miles from Cardigan, and less than 5 mins in the car to the nearest beach (PenYBryn) which is fantastic for sunsets.

This is an excellent camp site. The owner met us on arrival and showed us to our pitch. The pitches are very large and flat so we had plenty of space between us and the other campers. Also plenty of water taps. The facilities are first class. The shower block is brand new and is kept very clean. There are plenty of showers (3 in the ladies, 3 in the gents) showers were free and always had plenty of hot water. There is a kitchen block with sinks for washing up and plenty of hot water. Also has washing machine, dryers, iron, fridge and freezer (so no problem freezing your ice packs.)Kettle, toaster and microwave. Also there is a playroom and book exchange. Playground for the kids. The office has a very small shop with essential supplies and tourist info. And a sauna. And we chose the driest hottest 2 days of the year to stay. The sun shone all day. We will return.

Stayed at this site for 4 nights Mon to Fri Whitsun half term with relatives. We had a hard standing fully serviced pitch which was excellent and our relatives pitched their tent opposite from us with EHU and tap alongside. We also had 3 under 8s and 2 dogs on board so the facilities at Brynawelon were just what we needed. We were greeted by the owner, Liz, and shown to our pitches. Help was soon on hand putting up the tent from another camper as it was breezy and Liz provided a windbreak for the duration free of charge. The kids were happy to play in the fully enclosed play area which is was adjacent to our pitches. The site has just had a brand new toilet/shower block, with free hot showers, 2 loos only and 3 mixed shower/loo cubicles in the ladies and similar in the gents. There is also a separate family/baby changing/disabled part with ramp access. Also on site is a bookable sauna - didn't get to use unfortunately but very reasonable at £3.50 per hour or £10 for 4 people!. There is also a toileting area for dogs and a dog sitting service provided for a fee. The reception block has tourist info leaflets, bus timetables and a small supply of essentials e.g. Bread, milk, bacon, butter, matches etc with an honesty box. Also free freezer facilities for re-freezing packs. There is also an indoor play area for little ones, book swop, play station for hire. Washing up sinks and laundry facilities are also available. I could go on and on as everything has been so well thought out and provided for. It is easily situated off the main coastal road but so quiet. The only draw back we found is that the local beaches have dog restrictions on them i.e.Penryn, Tresaith - so best checking out first before driving around. It is obvious that a lot of effort has been put into this site and I would definitely recommend it to families especially dog owners. It was nice to see Liz and/or her husband having a walk round each evening and having a natter with people. We had a great week here and it was well worth the drive across Wales also helped by the 12 midday check out which we definitely needed as the kids did not want to come away!

Excellent site, very cheap. The toilets/shower block was always clean, though dated, but we were told that by next year each plot would have its own shower cubical and also a laundry on site. The owner warmly greeted us on arrival and showed us to our plot and pointed out where everything was. We had the kids with us who enjoyed playing in the park and we could see them from our tent. The nearby beaches are beautiful. This was our last trip this summer and it was wonderful, we will definatly be returning next year and hopefully the changes will make the site even better.

August 2005 We went here for a Ukcs weekend Mini-Meet, which ended up as a 3-unit nano-meet, but was good nonetheless. The site is small and quiet with two level fields, a small play area and dog excercise area. Pitches are around the perimiter leaving a spacious area in the middle for kids to play.
The facilities were a bit old-fashioned compared to some snazzier ones I've seen, but they were adequate and very clean. I particularly appreciated the free use of the spin-dryer in the small laundry area. The owners Liz & Paul were very friendly and enjoyed a laugh with us over the weekend. They have plans to upgrade things over the next few years, but want to keep the site as un-commercial as it currently is, which is great.
There's lots to do and see in the surrounding area, which is very beautiful, and I would recommend this site for a relaxing break.

June 2005 Found camp site really easily. The owners, Lyn and Paul are very friendly and helpful. The facilities are good and well maintained. The site itself is a quiet one with only enough space for a limited amount of tents and or caravans so make sure you book your pitch early as I would imagine that it gets full very quickly during the high season, July/ August. There is a little general store type shop and a camping equipment shop 5-10 mins walk into village. Cardigan is 15 min drive and Aberstwyth about 25 mins. Pen-Bryn beach is about 1 mile and is a good clean beach and kid friendly. Score out of ten for this site I would give it 9.5. We will return !!
