Just returned from 3 night easter break and had a fab time, first time out with our new Trailer Tent! Owners very welcoming and regularly walked round the site to make sure everyone was ok. Very clean facilities, well maintained.
Really well kitted out kitchen, all free to use. You do need to pay for the laundry facilities (as normal), although there is a spin dryer which is free to use for really wet clothes.
Games room has tv, table football and a couple of other games plus a decent book collection that you can borrow from or take (donate to honesty box), or donate/swap your own unwanted books.
Site has wi-fi which I think was £3 a day, can't comment on how good it was as we didn't need it.
Kids enjoyed the playground immensely which was handy when we were getting stressed trying to pack everything away! Spoilt for choice for nearby beaches, Tresaith, Aberporth, Aberaeron (go there for the honey ice cream). We also met up with family for Sunday Lunch and can definitely recommend The Ferry Inn at St Dogmaels, it's about a 12 mile drive from the campsite but well worth it (dogs and muddy boots welcome says the sign outside).
Will definitely return one day, maybe next Easter for more free sweets off the owners!

Just returned from a 6 night stay. Greeting by owners who were friendly. Shown to large size pitch which was on gravel. This was the first time we had used such pitch and found it comfortable enough with ground sheets.
Great facilities with games room which has TV and other games. Washing up area with 2 sinks, free use of microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer's which were very useful.
Separates men's and woman's toilets and shower block which is kept clean and tidy.
3 toilets and 3 showers in men's and same for woman's. Also there is a family shower/toilet room with disabled access, walk-in-shower and drop down toilet rails. Only criticism I have with the toilet block is that the frosted windows don't provide enough privacy and feel that curtains/blinds may have helped.
The site is in the country and as you would expect you hear the local animals near by especially cows in the mornings. We once heard the cockerel however, this was very distant.
One recommendation, is to make sure you have fully sewn in ground sheets as we and other campers had a run in with local rodents which was not at all pleasant.

This was our first stay ay Brynawelon and certainly won't be our last. We received a warm welcome on our arrival from the Park Owners who provided us with a quick tour of the superb facilities at the park. These included family/disabled shower room, games room, reception area complete with comprehensive tourist information and maps of the area, kitchen area which provided free use of toaster, kettle and microwave. There was a washing machine, tumble drier which were reasonably priced. Beautifully clean bathroom facilities, park for the children (my children aged 12 and 5 both were always on it!) and huge pitches!
The site was clean and very well maintained.
The children had a wonderful time, as did our dog who was made very welcome. An area was provided for doggy toileting and the local beaches, especially poppit sands were fabulous for tiring him out. And the children!
Large supermarket near Cardigan and local farm shop a few minutes drive away. Great army surplus store too!
We would recommend a visit to Cwmtydu (although the lanes aren't for the faint hearted! ) which is beautiful. Llangranog is lovely too, the chip shop was rather nice!
Thanks, we will definitely be back next year!

The owner was very helpful and friendly on arrival. We booked this site because of the family shower room and were very impressed with the immaculate toilet facilities. The night we stayed had torrential rain and so the kitchen was brilliant as it meant we could heat our baby's milk in the microwave and make coffee in the morning with the kettle as it was impossible for us to put up our gas cooker! Allocated pitches which are well spaced. The simple playground kept our 2 and 5 year old entertained whilst putting up the tent. We will return if in the area again for the clean and well equipped kitchen and toilet facilities.

We visited this campsite a week ago and were really impressed with the facilities. The toilet block (including showers) were extremely clean, and we were both impressed with the concept of shower, sink and toilet in one cubicle. The showers weren't the largest, however no smaller than your standard 'at home' shower and there was constant hot water and even a unit to put your shower gel etc. The campers kitchen was equally clean and full of useful amenities, including fridge and freezer which were helpful as we decided to stay another two nights and needed to re-freeze the ice blocks.
The campsite itself was well-laid out and the owners were very friendly. All facilities were open 24hrs, including the reception which was full of tourist and other local information (including the distances to the nearest pubs!).
Sarnau and the immediate surrounding areas are not especially commercial, but Sarnau does have a fantastic Army Surplus store. It came in very handy after completing the 6-mile coastal walk from Aberporth to Pen-Y-Bryn and realising that my trainers and trousers weren't suitable for that kind of activity!
We visited places up the coast as far as Aberwystwyth and back down to Cardigan (in the car) and would recommend Brynawelon as an ideal base location, whether camping or caravanning.

My partner Tracey and I have just returned from a week staying at Brynawelon, our second visit to the site. I've been coming to the area for every one of my 35 years, usually staying in my family's long standing holiday home on the sea front in Llangrannog. We've begun to prefer spending our time down here under canvas and stumbling across Brynawelon has proven a fantastic find.
The site is located in Sarnau, half a mile off of the main A487 Aberystwyth to Cardigan road on the inland side, far enough away not to be disturbed by road noise but close enough to be quickly on our way to whichever of the many beaches we've chosen for the day. Many may be put out by the site being so far from a beach, but experience has taught me that unless you're practically camped on a beach most will travel by car anyway. None of the local beaches are really within walking distance given that the lanes down to them are narrow and not safe for walking on. Penbryn, Tresaith and Llangrannog are all well within ten minutes drive from the site, with Aberporth and Cwmtydu a fraction further away. Mwnt and New Quay are both within 15 minutes drive. Sarnau has few amenities, save for the fantastic army surplus store and a nice farm shop. Realistically you will head for Tesco in Cardigan for your big shop, about 15 minutes away, or at the surprisingly well stocked Brynhoffnant Stores two minutes up the road.
Facilities at the site are extremely good. The shower/toilet block is modern and clean, free to use and of very good standard. Next door to this is a useful hut containing washing machines, dishwashing areas and a number of fridges/freezers. There is a reception with plenty of tourist information, and a games/TV room plus a sauna. The site is well maintained and the pitches themselves are generously sized. Hard, all-weather pitches are available if you prefer, although I find the grass pitches a little more comfortable. Water and electrical hook-ups are available if required, as is Wi-Fi. I will note though that, unlike sites closer to the beach resorts, you will get full phone signal here and be able to pick up 3G signal for surfing on your mobiles/laptops if you wish.
Some reviews have made note about the cockerel in the adjacent farm behind the tree line. While it was making itself heard when we were last here in September there was no sign of it this week so we assume it has met it's finger licking demise. There are sheep in the adjacent field that can be noisy, but then if you're choosing to camp in the country then you ought to expect a bit of wildlife.
The owners are very friendly and happy to chat. They've created a very nice site and one that we will continue to return to for as long as they'll have us.

What a little gem! I stayed here with my young family and another family for a week at the end of May both families were in tents and both families said they would return.
There were brilliant facilities such as a games room, a campers kitchen with fridges and kettles etc in, a playpark which was visable from where ever you were in the field.
The washrooms were out of this world! They were the cleanest I have ever seen and were proper showers like you get at home.
The site is a little way out and there isn't a shop or pub within walking distance but we spent a couple of days just sitting around and we didn't miss it!
The owners are so friendly and we came away feeling like we had made friends there. They are always around either cleaning or chatting away.
The only negative I would say is that we were put on an all weather pitch and it seemed to hold the water more than the grass. My tent was soaking and was sucking up the water so that everything inside was wet too. When I took the tent down it was sitting on a pool of water! The ground was boggy too and we got our car stuck once, the lady that owned the site very quickly came and pulled us out and said it was well known to be boggy in that area but didn't offer to move us!
All in all a lovely clean, friendly and cheap site. I will def return!

Management response: Thanks for your response, we had had an awful lot of rain in a very short space of time, resulting is many of our pitches flooding. Thankfully this happens only a handful of times a year and mostly not at popular times, this particular week we had so much rainfall in a short space that even the grass pitches were extremely boggy and would have been much worse for you packing up as I would guess that wet AND mud would have been a feature. I was the one who towed you out, but during our conversation was interrupted by another customer and never got back to you, I had wrongly assumed as you were camping as group that you didn't wish to move pitches. Please please please in future ask if you would like to move pitches and we would happily accommodate where possible, I can only apologise that I didn't ask you directly. We look forward to seeing you all at Brynawelon in the future. |

Stayed for 5 nights over the bank holiday weekend, a good site in a location close to local beaches, some which you can take your dog on. Site only just off the A487 but no traffic noise a really quite site. Toilet and shower facilities overall good, even though the site was full we never had to wait, the showers were hot and free to use, but there we no hook or shelf in the shower to hang anything.
Owners really friendly when we arrived and showed us around the site.
Playground was a little disappointing as it looked fab in the photos for the kids, looked a bit worn and could have done with more bark chips on the floor.
Dog exercise area really small, only one dog at a time I think, but it served its purpose for early mornings or late nights.
Overall a good stay, and iam sure we will return

The site is small but has all facilities we could asked for. The toilets and showers are very clean. There is a bathroom with disabled and children facilities. It was perfect for me as I could perfectly fit there with my toddler - the other showers are a bit small to use with a small child. Wide choice of various beaches nearby (but you cannot walk there, it is too far). Farm shop also not far from the site (again, by car) with lots of local produced foods. Plenty to keep us busy. Weather could be better, but we will be back there. Staff very friendly, always around.

Wonderful site within a few miles of some of the best beaches in the UK. All weather pitches are a bonus - just avoid the one next to the main road - can be a bit noisy. Attentive owners, who were welcoming, kind and helpful. Lovely bathroom facilities the family bathroom is a godsend for kids. The kids play area is great for keeping the kids entertained however the approach was on occasion spoiled by thoughtless dog owners not tidying up after their animals. Two other outstanding features are the campers kitchen which has fantastic features and really engenders a wonderful communal atmosphere and the TV room which I shared with fellow campers to watch the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
