Just got back from this lovely (i mean very lovely) camp site, this site is very well laid out with fantastic facilities including fridge, freezer, toaster and microwave. The shower and toilet blocks are the cleaniest we have ever come across, and the best standard! The wardens are very helpful and the owners very friendly.
There is also a sauna (didn't try it due to the kids but would be nice for couple etc) The area is stunning with three lovely beaches within a few miles.
There is a nice children's play area, fenced off to keep the little ones safe, although almost a full site it was always very quite.
Was told by the owner that May is a good month for sun so we plan to re-visit then.
Thank you to wardens and owners - see you in May 2011

We have just returned from a four day break again at this site. 3rd year on the trot and are looking forward to coming in 2011.
We had wardens on site this year who were really friendly and very helpful, but not overpowering at all and full thanks to them.
As usual the site is immaculate, I have never met a site so pleasing, clean, immaculately laid out, and friendly people. Toilets yet again superbly clean
You just have to quite simply book here, no if no buts, book it, just make sure there is room for my self and the wife.
This year we did the railway which runs from aberystwyth to devils bridge, what a great experience, and make sure you take a camera.

Like others, we came upon this site by chance. Basically two fields, one for seasonal caravans which mostly seemed empty when we were there, and another field for tents and touring vans etc. A little too well marked out with white numbered sticks everywhere but plenty of space and nice ground for pegs to go in well.
Facilities were excellent. Toilet blocks are the cleanest I've ever seen in a campsite, and lots of of facilities including a microwave (a first), fridge and freezer and Washing machine (extra) and tumble dryer (extra).
We found this site whilst travelling down towards St. Davids, but this is a lovely part of the country and will definitely come back again and explore more leisurely.
£5 for each adult is the perfect price for campers and with facilities and location we'll be back!

We came across this one by chance. Mid-week and surpised to find only us and one tent on site. The site appears to cater well for the seasonals with one field full - but no one staying. However all seasonals very tidy and well kept.
Facilities immaculate, wardens very helpful and friendly, couldn't do enough to help.
We paid £13 for 2 adults with electric which was a total bargain considering how clean and well kept site is.
A really lovely site well placed for touring, a fair walk into the village so if its peace and quit you want then this is a lovely place to stay.

Well, what can I say about this site apart from brilliant! This was my 3rd visit this year (they cant keep me away ) and I couldn't have wished for a better 10 days.
Liz and Paul are lovely, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The site is beautiful, lovely and clean, well laid out. The shower / toilet block is kept spotlessly clean, with the hottest (free) showers that I have ever encountered, and the hot water never runs out, even on a busy day.
Gorgeous beaches within a few miles, you can see the sea from the site. But I have to mention the sunsets, glorious, as good as any I have seen abroad! I have already booked to go back again in August, cant wait.

We came back to this site after we came last year for the first time.
Yet again a fantastic site, we will have to try the sauna next year.
The land around the camping bit was better this year after they had laid the stones last year.
The brynhoffnant pub just 5 mins drive down road is well worth a visit with big meals.
New quay again was wonderful as usual.
Oh and we also went to tenby 50 mins drive but was well worth it.

We stayed here the middle week of August for 8 days. Reasonably priced and good facilities, toilet block and campers kitchen all were very well looked after and were always clean.
All in all it had everything you would need if you were camping but the pitch that we were allocated was quite sloped and we ended up every night sliding down into one corner. The campsite itself was situated down a lane and was not within walking distance of a pub/restaurant or shop.
It was located within a 20 min drive of some of the most beautiful beaches we have been to

What a wonderful first time camping experience.
A lovely, clean, well set out site. Very easy to find, situated far enough from the main road not to be to bothered by traffic.
The site owners were very helpful with directions to local beauty spots as well as being on hand to deal with any problems. (not that we had any)
The facilities on site were great, the little kitchen cabin was great it has a microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer and kettle, all of which are free to use, and a table with four chairs to sit at if needed. Two sinks and drainers inside the cabin so no standing outside in the rain washing dishes!
The children's play area is great as its fenced in and there's woodchip underneath the equipment.
The toilets and showers were clean with hot water all day and night!
Lots of places to visit all within short driving distances. Folly's Farm is a must if you have children and the weather is unpredictable as it has great indoor and outdoor play areas with plenty of benches to enjoy your picnic at.
Wellies are a must as the ground gets very water logged after periods of heavy rain, (but arent all campsites)
All in all a friendly, welcoming, lovely, small, well thought out campsite. Myself and the kids will be returning for many visits in the future to explore and enjoy.

Brilliant - another great campsite run by wonderful, friendly owners.
Brynawelon is very easy to find as it's right off the coast road about 10 miles before Cardigan.
When you arrive you ring the bell and reception and either Liz or Paul will come out to greet you and then personally show you where your pitch is and where everything is around the park.
They are both wonderfully friendly and a mine of information on the area - as is Liz's mum who was great too.
The site has 2 camping fields - both level. There are pitches for both caravans (quite a few are regulars with seasonal pitches) and tents (MH, TT and FC). The area to the left has tent pitching in the middle, the area to the right has tent pitches at the bottom end and in the middle. I think all are ehu (but cold be wrong).
The ehu is 16 amp so no problems with heaters etc
You can see the sea from the site.
FACILITIES (all in lovely wooden chalet type buildings that blend in beautifully)
Reception - lots of useful info regarding things to do in the surrounding areas. A mini tourist information point really. Book exchange here also as well as all the relevant certificates etc and photographs of the site as it has progressed since Liz and Paul took over. Places to sit and browse the info too.
Ktichen/Wash up/Laundry - right next to reception. There are 2 wash up sinks with draining boards and plenty of hot water. The is a washing machine (3x£1 coins), a spin dryer, washing sink and tumble dryer (3x50p /60mins).
There is also a freezer, fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board. No charge for any of these. A table and 4 chairs are also here for your use.
Toilets/Showers (all heated)
Ladies - 2 toilets, 2 cubicles with toilet, shower and basin with mirror above, 2 shower cubicles, 2 wash basins and a hand dryer. Soap dispensers above the hand basins and although no stool in the showers each does have a hook on the back of the door and a movable double hook you can have over the door or shower cubicle.
A mop and bucket is provided to clean down after yourself - and I wish everyone would use it!
Gents - OH informs me there are toilets, shower/toilet/basin and 2 other shower cubicles.
There is also a family/disabled access bathroom with a wonderfully big shower, loads of room (and hand hold bars etc), toilet and basin and baby changing unit.
We never had to queue for a shower or the toilet once in the whole week we were there and the site was just about full most of the time.
There are 2 Chemical disposal points and water taps. Drinking water points. Recycling facilities. One of those drive over disposal points for motor homes to use too.
Games Room - for the children with a table football and a couple of other things (these you have to pay for) and a TV and sofa.
Sauna- just around the corner from the games room is a Sauna. We didn't use it so can't say any more about it.
Dog Walk Area - a small area but the road the site is on is a country road so plenty of dog walking up and down it.
Children's Playground - nice area for the children and it is very well used by them (well it was the week we were there)
The site has a no noise after 10.30pm rule and apart from a few cows mooing (no often) and them blooming collared doves (they get everywhere) then there wasn't any noise. At 10pm the play park is 'closed' and children come 'home'
WIFI - is available. Cards are sold by the day, 3 days, week etc.
THINGS TO DO
As it only rained the day we arrived, showers the 2nd day and the day we left I'm afraid we didn't do anything other than go to the beach.
We ventured into Cardigan. Checked out a Dolphin boat trip (£22 adult and £15(?) a child for and hour and a half) but we didn't take the trip!
There are many 'wet day' things to do around and about and Liz or Paul or the leaflets in reception will give you ideas of what to do.Other campers were also a good source of information and a good way to break the ice and get chatting to people.
We spent a day on Penbryn Beach- 2 miles down the road). It is a long sandy beach which we found a little gritty. You ge to a car park (National Trust) but if you carry on there is a turnign circle at the end of the road where you can drop off all your 'stuff' and then go back up the hill to the car park. There is a filed that is the overflow car park. Public toilets and a cafe/shop selling body boards, wet suits, bucket and spade etc.
The rest of the time we went on Llangranog Beach which was about 3 miles away. This is 2 coves and excellent for body boarding. There is a Lifeguard presence on this beach. Fish and chip shop, General Stores, Pub, another pub and a rather nice cafe all by the beach also public toilets.
The roads are country roads and in places very narrow and there are a couple of 90 degree corners down the road to this beach. There is also a park and ride service to the beach here- run on a voluntary contribution basis (suggested £1 return for adults). You can park in the field and walk down to the beach but coming up the hill on the way back may be too much for some.
There is a parking area right at the beach but it fill up quickly and the streets are soooo narrow it's really not worth driving down there.
There is also a small Art Gallery with some really beautiful paintings.
On the walk to the beach you pass a little garden created by the local children's art club - worth a stop and see and a little donation in the box.
There are a number (Paul reckoned about 9 or 10) of beaches within 10 miles of the site - something for everyone.
SHOPS/PROVISIONS
Right at the road end for Llangranog Beach, Brynhoffant (?)is a petrol station with a Londis shop - large and well stocked with just about everything you would want.
There is also a pub here
There are lots of hills in this part of Wales - especially on the roads up and down to the beaches.
Turn to wards Cardigan from the site and there is a small antique type shop on the right. A little further is a n Army surplus store selling everything camping related, walking/outdoors stuff and it goes on for ever and ever.
Further towards Cardigan on the right is a Farm Shop which sells all sorts of farm produce - eggs, milk, fruit and veg, ice-creams, Welsh cheese and loads an loads more. Pricey, but then Farm Shops always are and it's not always necessarily local produce.
There is a Rugby Club (?) on the right which has a car boot sale every Saturday morning.
Tesco and Focus are at the near end of Cardigan and easy to get to with out going into the town itself. Go to the roundabout and then back on yourself.
Cardigan also has a Somerfields (where we parked at the Harbour (£1.70 for a days parking)and an Aldi. It has all the usual mix of high street and individual shops and cafes. Some narrow streets and a bit of traffic congestion.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend you visit this site. We will be going back as there is so much to see and do and everything was perfect for us.
At the time of our stay - August 2009 - we paid £5 per adult, £3 per child (2-15) and £2.50 ehu per night so very good value for money.
The children really had a great time and asked 'can we could stay longer and if not please please please could we come back again' as 'this site is brilliant'- what more could you want :0)

Having just spent a long weekend here, I can only conclude that this site deserves top marks.
Clean toilets and (free) showers. A separate disabled toilet/shower that can be used as a family bathroom. The gents block contains two separate shower rooms, in which there is also a loo and a sink. Accompanying the two shower rooms, are a separate shower cubicle, a separate toilet and two sinks. The OH tells me that
The ladies had an extra two shower rooms. The only critism I have of this site is that there is no where to put your wash bag around the sinks, and a couple more hooks in the showers would be helpful.
The washing up area, which was also kept very clean, also contains the laundrette area and a campers kitchen. This would be a great bonus for any campers who could use a microwave, kettle, toaster, ironing board, iron etc. There is also a dining table and four chairs to sit and wait for your washing to finish, or eat your fodder.
We didn't use the games room but did notice a couple of fellow campers using the TV one night. We did treat ourselves to a sauna. What a luxury! And comes highly, highly recommended great way to relax at a very affordable rate. Our little camper spent hours on the park, which is centrally located and can probably be seen from most pitches on the site, although I didn't check!
Liz, the owner - and she tells me a keen camper, is an absolute star. Helpful, cheerful, everything you could want from a site owner -she also told me she's camped out on her own site when she desperately felt the need to camp, but couldn't leave the site - she even uses the site showers to get the full camping experience. Nutter! Liz and her OH have put a lot of effort into turning this campsite into what they want from a site. And it shows. They have a quiet after 10:30pm rule, which one evening was courteously enforced by Liz on a small group
Pitched near ourselves who were chatting loudly after 11pm one evening.
The Ship Inn at Tresaith is recommended for a lovely meal, although quite pricey.
Two-course meal for two adults, one childs meal and one round of drinks cost us £47. But, I did have a kangaroo steak for a starter, and we had two of the specials for 'mains' - fresh mussels and grilled . Lovely food though, and a lovely view, if you want to treat yourself.
Whilst I'm on the subject of food, there is a farm shop just to the other side of the local village (Sarnau), that sells all sorts of local produce. As with most farm shops it's not cheap, but saves you the trip to Tescos at Cardigan, and the goodies we bought for a cooked breaky and bbq were all top notch.
As one of the previous reviewers has mentioned the site is in a great location for visiting local attractions. We visited; The Honey Farm at Newquay - expensive, but well worth it to get so close to natural bee hives, (behind glass), Felinwynt Rainforest Centre - a great place to go on a rainy afternoon - the chap who owns it was lovely, extremely informative and obviously passionate about his subject, although wanting to retire - the centre is up for sale so he can put his feet up and enjoy his retirement!
There are loads of lovely beaches close to the site. Mwnt well worth a visit, and is a hotspot for dolphin spotting - although we were unlucky during our visit. Just two weeks ago, a superpod of hundreds of dolphins was spotted of this coastline.
I would recommend rock pegs, we bent many pegs pitching, maybe it was just the pitch we had though. But no harm in having a warning. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing break on a well maintained, rural and friendly campsite then you'll do yourself no harm by booking in here for a few days. We'd definitely return if holidaying in this part of the country again.
